It wasn't the best of Butcher's works. That's all I have to say about it.

J. Dragonhater It wasn't the best of Butcher's works. That's all I have to say about it. well by what i have heard Jim was kinda pushing it. He had major writers block when that book was being made and its why the date kept on changing cause he was having issues getting it out. So he did his best for having difficulty writing it don't ya think?

Jim's a professional with almost two dozen books (published) under his belt. I expected his usual awesomness. He shouldn't have freaking killed Dresden until he knew exactly how to complete the next one.
By the way Siren Ookami, I can't respond to your PM because you have your settings set to only friends can PM you. I'm selling two guilds because they haven't been posted in in over 2 years. 25,000 each (they have several subforums which is why I am charging more than Gaia does for a guild). Here are the links.

Personally, I thought it was a good page turner. He changed everything in there; I wasn't sure what to expect. Maybe that's just me though. And the part where Bob was talking to Harry was great. (vagued it up to avoid spoilers for those who haven't read it). I can't wait to see what happens next. smile

I, for one, really enjoyed this book. It's a great midpoint of the hero's journey. Harry descended into the Underworld and returned with knowledge and power. Sure, there are a few things I'd have liked to see, but it's just nit picking.
All in all, a solid book. I can't wait for Cold Days!

I enjoyed/loathed the smoothness with which it read. I had the book finished in about a day (and im a slow reader) and i feel the way Butcher wrote it appropriated the changes - with the way Harry could or HAD to do things, and with how chicago and everyone he knew and loved inside it reacted to his death. The way they had to change themselves to fill in the gaping hole of the absence of the general good he constantly tried to do, overall morally or not; and the equally gaping hole of power left to fill - from the death of nearly every Red in existence. I think it was a good stepping-stone book, and a neccisary one. And i can NOT wait for Cold Days.
