Most people were turning in, returning to their beds of patches of floor to sleep. Most people, but not Darwin. Darwin found that sleep did not come easy to him in space. After all, how was he supposed to sleep when he could be attacked any minute by Shadow Palika? No, Darwin more or less stayed up until he passed out.

This particular night, the green-haired teen had wandered to the Aquarius kitchen. At first the existence of the pantry seemed promising, up until the smell reached his nose. Well, at least he had found something to occupy himself with until his body shut down in protest: cleaning the pantry.

Another green haired individual was having trouble sleeping as well, and for a rather similar reason at that. It wasn't that she hadn't tried to sleep. Menthe had laid very still and very quietly, trying her best to fall asleep in the large group sleeping room. But sleep did not come.

In fact.. it seemed to make things even worse. When she wasn't busy and working her mind would begin to wander and worry. What was her mom doing with her missing? What would happen to her if Menthe never made it back? How long would she have to stay here? Forever? Or would the time be very short, picked off one at a time by giant space creatures. Already there were stories of people falling into unwaking sleeps.. sure it usually had something to do with monsters but... who knew? If she closed her eyes was it possible she might never open them again?

Her stomach was churning and turning from worry when she finally pushed herself up from her sleeping bag, trying very hard to keep her heels from clacking against the ground and waking anyone as she left.

She didn't know exactly where to wander, ending up in the kitchen only after she heard some rustling around in it. Brushing back her mint green bangs softly, she peered into the room from behind her glasses. One male, not too old. Best to be polite.

"Good evening" The young woman called out in a voice barely audible across the distance.

" Need some Hefty. Or some Glad. Glad for Hefty..." Darwin muttered as he quickly shut the pantry door with a wrinkled nose.

The teen had already begun to rummage through the cabinets when his mind finally realized that someone had spoken to him. Popping up, he eyed the other woman with a cocked head.

" You afraid of the space boogeymen too?"

No shame in it. Anyone not scared had to be brainless in Darwin's opinion.

" Whales, lizards..." Darwin shuddered. " Hopefully there are no squirrels. Or Cthulhu. That'd be bad."

It was hard to tell if Darwin was referring to the possibility of Cthulhu or space squirrels showing up; knowing Darwin, it was probably the latter.

Well, it wasn't much of a greeting. In fact... her eyes seemed to widen from behind her glasses as he spoke, taking his words far too seriously for more then a few seconds too long.

When she did realize, her eyes trailed to the floor, brushing back a few loose strands of hair with a very soft laugh. "Actually a little bit.. yes."

"I'm not really used to this kind of stuff.. it's a bit too... exciting for my tastes"

Moving a little further into the room, she hazarded lifting her eyes again, looking around the dirty kitchen thoughtfully. Was he doing something other than poking around? Attempting to cook or clean perhaps? "Would you like some help?"

" I agree, too exciting. I do Pokemon fights, not space fights."

Oh, if only Pokemon were real, he would have totally kicked that space whale's blubbery behind!

" Help would be good. I wanted food, but the pantrys smells; needs cleaning." Darwin snorted. " They have whales in space, but no maids."

The not-aliens weren't too bright in Darwin's mind. They could build floating castles in space, but couldn't remember to throw away rotten food? Geez.

"Pokemon fights?" She had to think back for a moment to recall what he was talking about, the word just at the tip of her mind. But before she could even take a breath it was there, nodding softly with a bit of a grin. "Ohhh"

She hadn't actually played the games herself, but she recalled back when she was in school seeing people playing with card games or on those little videogame systems. If she tried hard enough she might even be able to come up with a few names she recalled from the past.

His problem offered, she shuffled up towards the pantry and counters, nodding. "It's interesting how bad smells can turn even a hungry stomach." She'd actually read some stuff about that before, in her survival guides about how sometimes it was best to just hold your nose and swallow as quickly as possible some of the ickier foods that staved off hunger and dehydration in a crisis.

Fingers brushing against the counter mildly, she thought aloud in her usual soft voice. "Umm... Does it look like there is any good food we should set aside first? Or should we just start cleaning?" She didn't mind cleaning, not at all! It kept her mind off of space boogeymen after all.

" Didn't look too hard, too much reek." Darwin said, glaring at the offending pantry. " Might still be some good stuff, but I don't know."

Darwin resumed digging through the cabinets, pots and pans clanging and he shoved them to the side during his search.

" Pots, pans... where are the trash bags?"

Being the nerd-hermit that he was, Darwin didn't spend much time in kitchens. As far as he knew, trashbags were put in whatever placed seemed good at the time, then randomly moved a couple times a week. At least, he insisted that's what happened at his house, refusing to admit that he simply couldn't remember where they were kept, despite having lived in that house his whole life.

Eliza drawn by the voices made her way to the to pantry in Aquarius. She who usually slept like a rock, dreams fill with all kinds of fantastical adventures, found sleep eluding her tonight. She did not mind though. She enjoyed exploring and being on the surrounding had been a lot of fun for her.

She had helped clean up a lot of different placed and had even found a wardrobe in Leo with clothes in it, which she readily swapped out. Currently she was in boys clothing taking a break from the gowns she found. She wore knickers and a ruffled shirt, but her hair was as wild as always and she remained as barefoot as the day she arrived at the surrounding.

She peeked in to see to green haired civilians one of which she recognized. "Hello," she said softly moving into the pantry. "Guess I'm not the only one restless. Do you mind if I join you?"

Menthe on the other hand had been on her own for almost 3 years now, and even when she had lived at home she was always the dutiful daughter. So the usual placement of trashbags in a kitchen wasn't a particularly foreign thing to the young woman. Whether or not ancient space beings in castle even used trashbags though.. that was an entirely different question.

She had begun to shuffle through the cabinets, which like Darwin's instance did reek of decay and staleness, when another voice caught her attention. Sliding back down from her tippytoes, she adjusted her glasses a little before looking at Eliza, offering a soft smile. "Hello"

She of course didn't mind the extra help, a kitchen full of nasty was kind of a lot of work for just two, so she looked to Darwin for acceptance.

Darwin had located a trashcan - or an object that could be used as one - but no trash bags. Hoping the older woman was looking for them and would be more successful then him, Darwin turned his focus to the newcomer.

" Yes, join us. Plenty of nasty food for all."

A question suddenly struck Darwin and he looked betwen the other two as he asked," Either of you know what to do with the trash? Is there a trash chute?"

Eliza moved into the pantry with a small smile of her face. She thought she recognized Menthe from the rainbow road and offered her a small wave. She had no issues interacting with anyone, actually she quite enjoyed getting to know everyone she could in the unique situation and so she chimed into the conversation with hesitation.

"I bet they have a trash chute somewhere. I know I've seen some trash bags around Leo, but I'm pretty sure the senshi brought them here and we aren't close to Leo," she gave a small laugh.

She looked around to the cabinets and moved over to a few unoccupied ones to look around. "Not to best smelling place, is it," she said opening the cabinets.

Her hand lifted up just a little to mimic Eliza's greeting, small smile on her face as they all thought aloud. She continued to rustle for awhile before finally discovering a bag of supplies that looked far too modern to be from the surrounding. Some senshi must have brought it at some point and never stopped to clean it up. Perhaps they too had discovered the nasty cabinets and given up.

Rummaging through she finally located a roll of trash bags, holding them out towards the other with a soft smile. "Unfortunately, I doubt anyone had the foresight to bring air freshener."
