((Participants will be: Darwin, Raven, Jett, Mary, Pomona, and Albireo))
Normally Darwin would have admired the Leo Outpost, but he just couldn’t bring himself to. It was pretty, sure, but what if it was hiding mutant squirrels? Or a space dolphin (the smaller cousin of the space whale)? After hearing that Jett and Raven had been attacked in the Aquarius library, Darwin just didn’t feel safe anywhere.
“ Hello?” Darwin called out as he crept into the entrance of Leo. “ I heard there’s food here?”
Hearing no immediate reply, Darwin walked up a nearby staircase and kept trying until he eventually found a large kitchen occupied by a red-haired not-alien. At least, he assumed she was one of the not-aliens by her elaborate costume.
“ Hello?”
“ Oh, hi there! Are you looking for food?”
“ Um, yes.”

Raven walked into the kitchen a few minutes later, and her blue eyes lit up when she saw Darwin.
Giving a laugh, she ran towards him, hugging him tightly. "Dar! You're okay! You're alive! I missed you!"
Huh. She was so happy to see her not boyfriend. Almost as happy as she was to see Jett...
Was she actually falling for Darwin?
She noticed Pomona, but didn't really make any effort to comment.

Mary had wandered over to the Leo Outpost (and had a bit of an almost fall scare in the process) in search off food. Books were good and all, but she'd almost started eating one she was so hungry. She found herself in the kitchens of Leo, almost drooling at the smells.
She glanced around, lilac eyes sweeping over Darwin and Raven... wait a second!
"DARWIN! SHE WHO IS FLOWN!" cried Mary, flinging herself at the pair and hugging them too. She nuzzled them, so glad to see a familiar face. She squeezed, imaginary tail wiggling happily ( and thus her backside twitching to and fro).
"How are you guys!? AFter the whale I ended up in a library with She How Keeps the Books."
OMGNOWAI
Mary beamed. She was so excited, so excited.

Loud voices from the kitchen made Jett almost cringe; he vaguely recognized the voice as being familiar, but didn’t identify the speaker until he turned into the kitchen.
Oh. Yeah. That weird girl. Hanging all over—Oh, hey. That was neat. Well, it seemed like Raven was awake and doing well, that explained where she’d run off to. And Darwin—oh, good. He hadn’t been eaten alive by anything while Jett was—sleeping. Just sleeping.
He didn’t want to intrude again; he’d made the error of popping into their conversation last time and had been labeled several unfriendly titles, and it really wasn’t worth the drama so he just walked in. He was just here for food; he’d talk to Raven about what happened whenever she wasn’t so swarmed with people, but he figured he had one of two options: Option one, don’t say hello—and be ‘rude’ for ignoring them, or option two, intrude and say hello—and be ‘rude’ for that, too.
…Actually. Yeah, forget it. He made sure to keep his distance from Mary; she was odd enough that he could handle keeping a few feet away. “You all look pretty cozy,” he mused as he glanced at the three of them embracing. He didn’t understand the open display of physical affection but—hey. Whatever. They’d been through a lot. Hell, all he’d done was sleep. Not a coma. Just a really, really long nap. With really, really weird dreams.

Darwin blinked as the other members of the motley space group all showed up within a short period of time, Raven and Mary being first.
“ I’m glad you’re alright.” He told Raven sincerely. “ I heard you were attacked.”
Having spent a fair amount of time in Virgo, one did hear about others’ injuries through the grapevine. It seemed that none of their group had been truly safe.
“ I had to spend some time in Virgo’s Outpost, but I’m fine now.”
Darwin couldn’t quite pin Mary down, but compared to the insanity of space, butt-wiggling hugs didn’t make him even bat an eye. Besides, it was just… Mary.
When Jett made an appearance, Darwin couldn’t help but sing in a somwhat off-key voice, “ It’s a small galaxy after all~. Good to see you in one piece.”
" So what happened to you all?"
Pomona, recognizing a reunion when she saw one, politely stayed silent while fixing plates of food.

Raven nodded, still keeping an arm wrapped around Mary, seeming so much more relaxed.
"Yeah, Jett and I were attacked. It was scary as hell...I almost got eaten...but Jett saved me, so that's good...I really owe him."
She stretched. "I'm so hungry though. I heard this is where all the best food was..."
The blonde laughed. "I'm so glad to see you all...I feel like this whole stupid hell is easier to bear with you...You all mean a lot to me already. That's so ridiculous to say, but."
She shrugged. God. When did she become such a sap? Was it because she was lucky to be alive? Yeah. Maybe.

Mary nuzzled both Raven and Darwin for a moment. Her stomach growled and she laughed along with Raven.
"Food would be amazing. Those books are so heavy!" she said, hugging tight to Raven. The girl may be a stuck up cheerleader, but she was a great friend to Mary now. And that meant she, and Darwin, and Jett sorta, were part of her clan.
She would not let anything happen to these three, ever again.

Jett kept his distance and leaned back, stretching; he was still a bit sore from the walk over and his back cracked loudly, but he seemed just relieved. He didn’t have the same sort of energy he’d had, say, the day they’d arrived, but he was confident that any sort of sustenance would work wonders.
…Not that he wanted to cook for himself or anything; he’d be happy eating bread or something right now.
It brought a sense of stability to see all of them still alive; if nothing had changed in the past few days, it was at least better than some awful genocide.
While another, perhaps if he was feeling unobtrusive or sentimental, he might have kept his mouth closed and let the three have their little cuddle reunion. He’d been amused by Darwin’s antics but instead of responding—Raven had already given what part of the story was even slightly interest—he sauntered over a bit closer so he wasn’t yelling across the room. When at a civilized distance for conversation, he glanced around the kitchen and asked, “So, what do you have to do for food around here?”

" There seems to be an unusual number of man-eating monsters is space." Darwin paused, considered that statement, then added, " I guess there's not much else to eat in space though."
A thoughtful look appeared on Darwin's face as he was distracted by whatever idea had just popped into his mind. Muttering something about squirrels and rockets, he wandered away from the group, snagged a banana - space banana? - and proceeded to stare at it as his mind cobbled together some new Darwinism.
... and Darwin was off in Darwin-land; nothing a good eye-rolling and a couple of well-placed pokes at Darwin's side couldn't fix.
Pomona, having heard mentions of food, took that as a cue to speak.
" If you're hungry, we've got a fair amount of food. Salad, chicken noodle soup, stewed okra, and assorted junk food."
She waved a ladel at a pair of cabinets. " Plates and stuff are in there. You can serve yourself or tell me what you want and I'll fix up a plate."

Raven nodded, both to Jett and Darwin.
"I'm getting so sick of the man eating monsters...and..." She listened asthe senshi spoke about the food. "You have salad? I honestly think...a salad and a pile of junk food sounds amazing right now. It'll balance each other out, right?"
She laughed, then glanced to Jett, just giving him a nod, before snuggling closer to Mary. "You were carrying around heavy books, Agrabah?" She just smiled, nuzzling the girl. She was so glad she had these people to lean on, it helped her a lot.
Finally she looked back at Jett again. "Come up here closer, don't be a stranger, we're all friends here."

Mary giggled softly and shook her head. "I did not carry them, but I did pick a few up and handed them off to people!" She glanced at Jett and gave him a kind, if odd, smile. He really needed to not hide off to the side like that. But maybe that was just his way.
She glanced at Pomona, still clinging to Raven. For the first time she felt incredibly... happy. Happy and content that these people didn't hate her, or didn't push her away or make fun of her. It warmed her heart almost to bursting and she couldn't get enough of it.
She never wanted this to end.

Jett tilted his head to the side as he drummed his fingers over the counter as he passed. Friends? He wouldn’t exactly have thought to refer to himself as friend to this odd bunch—if they were back home, they certainly wouldn’t be his choice circle.
Still, invited, he approached the girls, snagging a red apple as he passed by a platter of fruit. Wiping it nonchalantly on the breast of his shirt, when he’d rubbed it to a shine he lifted it to his mouth and wasted no time in biting into it. The crunch was satisfying, though the juice threatened to be messy if he wasn’t careful. His eyes drifted to Darwin as he mumbled to himself. He had quite an urge to throw the apple at the male and see if that wouldn’t get his attention, though refrained; he didn’t assume any of the others in the room would appreciate the pointless attack.
Jett was swallowing by the time he got to Raven and decided that at her height, she made for the perfect armrest; propping himself up on the side Mary wasn’t already hogging, he looked to Pomona and asked, “So, if I ask for a grilled cheese sandwich and add my ‘please’ and ‘thank you,’ you’d make it happen?”

" Probably as balanced as you can get out here." Pomona agreed, rooting around in a cabinet an placing bags of chips, twinkies, poptarts, and other assorted junk food on the counter before she went to go pull some salad from the refridgerator.
" Grilled cheese? Should be doable. Might not be your average grilled cheese though, if you're alright with that."
For some strange reason, space was lacking in pre-packaged cheese slices and Blue Bonnet butter. She'd seen some possible substitutes though.
The mention of cheese had managed to grab Darwin's attention.
" I like grilled cheese. And okra."
It was an odd combination to request - even if it wasn't phrased as one - but Pomona seemed to understand and grinned at the okra request.
" You got it."
A bowl was quickly filled with salad and brought to Raven.
" Here you go. It was already dressed."

Raven made a face when Jett decided to use her as an arm rest, but just shrugged it off, taking the salad from Pomona with a smile. "Thank you so much, it looks delicious."
She was starving. Really really starving. Heck, even Darwin's request of Okra sounded delicious to her right at that moment. The blonde glanced to Mary and grinned. "Well, maybe next time I can help you carry the books, okay?" It wasn't that strange of a request, right?
The girl dug into the salad and sighed happily, though seemed curious for a moment. "If you're making Grilled Cheeses...I'd adore one of those as well, please." The idea of melted gooey cheese sounded...like heaven.
