Eric has become very tired of this place. The whole greek temple theme had grown old to him, and he was getting stir crazy walking up and down the same halls over and over. His attempts at helping in the infirmary had been somewhat worthless, he couldn't do much with all these senshi types around.

He had cabin fever, and wanted to go somewhere, anywhere, but didn't relish the idea of magic space animals trying to make a meal of him. He was somewhat intimidated by the cat people and their friends, he still wasn't sure they wouldn't try to eat his brain or probe him or something to that effect (they were, after all, aliens) but he also didn't want to leave alone.

So it seemed like an answer to his prayer when he saw Jett standing at the front of the temple, peering out down the steps.

"Planning on taking a little trip?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 9:18 pm

Jett was, in fact, planning on taking a little trip.

He’d been mulling over it for a while, now, though it had taken him a while to muster up the energy to crawl out of bed. He didn’t really want to come to terms with the fact that he’d been in a coma and wasted three days of his life, but it was slowly sinking in.

A bored expression on his face as he rested his hands on his hips, he glanced over Eric and summed him up as best he could from looks alone. Red hair, freckles. Green eyes. Irish? It fit the accent. So far as attire went, he seemed somewhat sloppily dressed; Jett assumed that the male didn’t much care what others thought of him.

...Unless it was just the effects of being here for too long. Jett's hair wasn't as clean looking as it would be if he were back home; his clothes were wrinkled and he had the appearance of someone who had been caught in the rain and dried out--a little worse for wear, despite the good treatment he'd received while in the Virgo Infirmary.

He looked a bit older than Jett, which was starting to sound like a good thing. And Eric was a man, not a boy. That was a plus. Jett had already stuck his neck out for someone, and he figured that the stronger they looked, the less chance he’d have of getting his a** handed to him. Again.

He counted the salamander as a great loss, especially since he’d had the chance to get away from it and had tossed the idea to save Raven.

The Mirror Pools were between Leo and Virgo, and his stomach had been growling for quite some time. It seemed like the perfect excuse to take a peak at the place while sating his human need for food.

“Yeah,” he finally answered with a bored shrug. “I was. Why, were you planning on going somewhere?”

Jett really wasn't sure why Eric was making conversation with him; he'd certainly never met the male, but attributed his chattiness as being a side effect of wariness. Jett, even, didn't want to walk anywhere alone--though he certainly wasn't going to ask for company. He'd been standing on these steps just trying to gauge how long it would take him to get to Leo--and if it even looked safe.

Eric nodded.

"Yeah, I had been. Thinking of going on a trip, that is. I uh, wanted to get out of here for a bit, and get a better idea of what were up against."

He paused for a moment, then added.

"Well, yeah. So that was my idea but I don't know if there might be, you know, space turnips or something out there that will eat my brain if I step in the wrong spot. I thought there might be safety in numbers."

His scottish accent was very pronounced, and he made no attempt to hide it.

Irish, Scottish. Jett didn’t know the difference and didn’t intend to ask.

He was somewhat amused with the male. “Turnips? …Maybe,” he shrugged. “…I’m going to Leo,” he announced. “So if you want to tag along, you’re more than welcome. I can’t remember the last time I had a good meal, so I’m going to go see if I can steal something.”

His muscles were a bit stiff, so he was liking the idea of stretching his muscles. Not really liking the idea that he might run into something out there, but he promised that he’d keep his eyes open and be prepared for anything that might show up.

“Jett,” he introduced, holding out a hand. “What should I call you?”

"Eric"

He said with a smile, taking the hand and shaking it.

"And I think I will accomany ya, since you were so gracious as to offer."

He was obviously more comfortable with the man now that they'd shaken hands, as if that small gesture had changed their relationship forever.

"Do you have a stick or a rock or something in case, you know, something does show up?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 9:37 pm

A stick or rock, in space? Sure. He could pull one out of his a**, no problem.

Instead of a snarky comment, Jett just offered a saccharine smile. “…If you need to pick up something to fight with, go ahead.”

He didn’t imagine it would make too much of a difference; with the size of these creatures, it’d be like stabbing an elephant with a toothpick—nothing more than a minor nuisance. Any sort of weapon seemed like it’d just get in the way—something extra to worry about leaving behind and weigh you down.

“I’ve been doing pretty well with nothing so far, but it’s your call.”

…If you counted falling into a coma as doing ‘pretty well’.

He dropped Eric’s hand and instinctively wiped his palm off on his pants before sliding his hand back into his pocket.

"Right..."

He nodded.

"I've really just been using my belt. I figured if nothing else, I can throw it to distract whatever it is while I get away. Better then getting chewed on, right?"

He half smiled, then stopped. It hadn't occured to him that this new friend of his might have ACTUALLY BEEN chewed on. Better to just change the subject.

"Well then, uh, do we need anything before we're off? Or can we just go?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 9:45 pm

Jett raised a brow. “You just go. Unless you need to check in with your babysitter or something.” He trotted down the stairs and then paused at the base to look up at the male. “…But you seem a little too old to be playing that game. So just hurry up. I’m not going to wait.”

He glanced out at the Surrounding and then added, “It doesn’t take long for things to appear out of nowhere, so the less time you spend outside, the less time I’d warrant you make yourself a target. Not that being inside is really any better,” he mused, stroking his chin; he’d already vowed not to go back to Aquarius after being ripped through the wall, so right now it was a matter of deciding where he was going to set up residency. Virgo was good for the healing and all, but Leo—he’d heard some pretty interesting things about Leo and was intending to have a good look around after he’d filled himself up.

Eric chuckled nervously.

"Well aren't we the picture of optimism?"

He offered a goofy grin.

"The best part of not being safe anywhere is there is nowhere you have to feel unsafe. Why bother?"

He walked down the steps to where he was standing.

"Lets get going then. Do you think perhaps they'll have a guitar where we're going? I kind of miss my old six string."
PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:10 pm

Uhm. No. Jett doubted there would be a guitar here, but damn—what did he know? This wasn’t back home, and he’d been unconscious for the past three days—but wasn’t about to vocalize this. “…You might be better asking someone that knows what’s been going on. I haven’t been paying attention.” It was a suitable excuse—not that it was really even possible to ‘ignore’ everything that was going on if conscious.

Though only a few steps away from Virgo, the hackles on the back of Jett’s neck had raised and his eyes swept across the path before him. He was walking at a brisk pace, intent to get to Leo as quickly as possible. He judged that Eric must play music by his comment, and instead of openly showing how paranoid he was of an attack, he continued conversation with, “You’re a musician? How long have you played?”

"A while now, since grade school. Mostly guitar, mostly covers though I have some of my own origional stuff."

Eric was a little shorter then Jett, so every couple of steps he had to make a double step to keep up, but he didn't seem to mind. He looked around at the surrounding.

"Do you play?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:23 pm

“No,” Jett answered easily; if he noticed that he was forcing Eric to take extra steps to keep up, he didn’t let on nor care enough to slow down. “I’m not exactly the hippie sort,” he said, as if he needed to offer such an explanation. “Music doesn’t do much other than waste time. You can listen to it, sure, but unless someone’s paying you, it’s just a waste of time. No offense,” he said—but it certainly didn’t come out apologetic.

“Maybe it’s just because I never tried. Never really cared to. I don’t have delicate fingers or anything.” He glanced to Eric. “And with boxing—that is, I box—it’s not really worth it to have a hobby that depends on fingers and hands being in good condition. Sometimes it gets a little rough. You get too into it, hit too hard, bruise. Break something.”

"Oh. I see."

He looked down at his "delicate fingers." He could box if he wanted... right?

"Are you any good? I mean, do you win alot or anything like that? Or do you just box with you're mates?"

He was begining to believe that he had chosen the right companion for this trip.
PostPosted: Mon Sep 12, 2011 10:55 pm

"Box with my mates? No, they're smarter than that," Jett said, a small smirk growing on his face. "We've had our little spars, but mostly it's a bad idea to fight with your friends. It's good to have some rivals, sure, but when you're beating your friends' faces in, they tend to take it personally. Strangers, though? Sure. Professionals, sure. I win more than I lose, so. Yeah, I'm good. Against people, anyway. Can't say so much for, you know. Flying whales and mutant salamanders."

...He was still alive, though, that had to count for something--right?

Eric frowned a little bit.

"You uh, keep saying salamanders. Did I miss a meeting or something? I thought there were whales and, you know, bat wolf things. What is this about Salamanders?"
