There was another quiet night in Destiny City.

Perhaps... too quiet, which explained the frown on Alunite's face as he landed on the rooftop of a well-populated bar with a jump that had been practiced to near perfection.

There was a softer thud behind him as he rose from his crouch. "See what I mean ?" At the first glance, the negaverse senshi did not seem to have a companion... Until one took a closer look. "This is usually a senshi hotbed. Not even one aura in slight..."

Indeed, the air was clear, save for Alunite's own aura, which seemed to stand out all the more by it's lonesome - Hiro's extremely faint energy signature was easily drowned out by his. "I can't shake the feeling that they're plotting something, Hiro." He frowned. "School didn't keep them away from the streets that much last year... and we're talking about finals here."

Something was up, but he didn't know what. It was frustrating - but now all he could do was wait for a drunk to come stumbling out for a smoke.

Just because he didn't have a quota didn't mean he didn't like to keep busy.

Hiro was disturbed by the sudden lack of senshi. Alunite wasn't the only one of his trainees to report a sudden lull in civilian rescues and skyline pursuits over the past few nights. The Mauvian wasn't optimistic to think that the senshi had just given up and left. Something was afoot. Hiro know a plot when he smelled one. The only question remained...

"What could they possibly be trying to achieve?" It was a mystery, one that resulted in one ear back, head tilted to one side and Hiro's remaining eye alternating between wide open and narrowed in suspicion. He remained close by Alunite as they stared down at the empty streets. "If they're trying to lull us into a false sense of security, they're more naive than I thought." And Hiro had been dealing with Chibi Senshi. Naive was practically part of the job description.

The senshi should know better than to think the Negaverse would fall for a simple ruse. Of course they thought something was up. Hiro trusted a senshi about as far as he could throw one. And with no opposable thumbs and at less than a tenth the size of most of them, that was exactly zero measurement of any kind. (Curses.)

"I suppose we need to lay a trap of our own, and see if we can spring ourselves a senshi," Hiro mused. "We just need some bait..."

A teal eye slid in Alunite's direction. Hello, bait <3

"I have no damn idea." Came the rather eloquent answer. Really, he'd never been part of that side - never wanted to, at that - and even if he had... He wouldn't have remembered a damn thing once being shown the truth, after being saved.

It was the loss of an incredible fount of information, that failsafe. They had to true way to know, from the inside, what was going on. Having a spy would be amazing... but likely completely impossible.

"Yeah, I think anyone with their heads screwed on their shoulders right isn't feeling too good about this..." Most likely this had already reached the ears of the General Queens.

...He hated being bait. Honestly. The idea of being powerless with a senshi about was giving him the creeps. What had happened to Ilmenite during their attack on the Blood Moon Court only cemented that But maybe Hiro had a different idea. "I figured just grap a drunk once they go out for smokes... What's your plan ?"

There wasn't much that got past Tanzanite these days, but if the half-youma General-Queen wasn't already aware, Hiro would be informing her once he and Alunite were done for the night. He was still furious about the lack of respect and awe for Tanzanite during the last giant meeting, so Hiro had taken to spending as much time with the lady as possible.

If it was a trap, they needed to know. If the senshi were distracted, then they needed to strike while they could.

Hiro swung a wide kitty grin at Alunite. "Exactly that," he purred, agreeing with Alunite's plan. "Just... let the victim scream a little."

And see who came running to help.

Ah, yes. This was an outcome Alunite preferred, through, really... He should have known Hiro wouldn't have put him through something like that, if only because he wouldn't have been able to play the 'baddie' very well.

An human being held hostage by a cat wouldn't have been very believable.

Usually the point was to not let them scream, but he certainly had some pent-up aggression he needed to take on something.

The wicked grin that crossed his expression was probably the only answer Hiro needed. Alunite was alllll for that plan.

Now they only needed a victim - and fate was kind enough to oblige in relatively short order, in the form of a lovely young woman walking straight in the alleyway.

But Alunite couldn't care less how pretty she was. Nods were exchanged with his mentor and then he was on the prowl, slowly making his way toward his unsuspecting victim. It would have been easier to teleport, but not exactly efficient in his case.

The second he jumped, she would be made aware - she didn't look that drunk, so he had to wait right until the right moment. Muscles tensed, eyes darting, calculating distances... Then he jumped, grapped her arm - she let out a loud, painful shriek as she was pulled further in the darkness, and for once he made no effort to stop it, even through his ears were ringing.

"You'll drag a senshi out for me, won't you~ ?" He whispered in her ear. That only made her scream more.

Ah, very nice! Hiro almost purred as he watched Alunite move to grab the woman. It was so nice when things went to plan.

She was a good screamer, too. Could easily pick up a bit part in a Hollywood slasher flick - the girl who dies in the opening, maybe. Still, Hiro wanted to make sure that the right kind of people came to investigate.

While Alunite continued to harass his victim, Hiro was leaping from ground to dumpster lid to fire escape. Up on the roof, he made a scan of the skyline, looking for anything out of the ordinary. "Help! Help!" he shouted. "A monster is after a lady! I need a senshi, quickly!"

There. Between that and screams, someone ought to be showing up soon. And if not... well, Alunite was getting in some practice. They could always move to a new location and try again, for as long as it took.

(( omg you guys I AM SO SORRY plz don't hate me. sad ))

If only Kallichore had the ability to see into the future, to divine what was in store for her. She would have told herself that this was nothing more than a cheap Negaverse ploy designed for her (or someone like her) to fall into. She would have been ashamed at being so easily caught. Luckily for the Negaverse, no senshi had these powers. And so, the web was spun. Despite her being a self-proclaimed hornet, Kallichore hadn't the strength, nor the ability, to break free of the web.

Best try to sting as much as possible.

The screaming was what drew her near, but the cat definitely acted as a beacon in the night when it came to directing her to the source. Kallichore had just ascended to Eternal status by some whim of the Cosmos (and one particular cat she had a special fondness for). She'd still never used her attack, though this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Crimson bootheels ground against rough rooftops as the eternal rounded a corner at a 45 degree angle, nearly sliding to her destination. She was high above the poor screaming woman and regarded the cat with a curt nod. Kallichore didn't recognize this one.

The senshi grabbing the woman? Oh no, he was familiar indeed. Brown eyes narrowed slightly and the senshi of madness held a sadistic thought in her mind. Now you look like you could use a sound beating, my friend. Her pledge to the Jovians didn't exclude deserved beatdowns as far as she was concerned, and quite frankly, Alunite was soundly asking for it. Threatening the innocent in the name of evil was not something she would stand by and tolerate. She called down to the corrupted, tilting her head.

"Ah, so we meet again. If you let the girl go, I'll consider letting you sleep soundly tonight. Otherwise," Kallichore dropped to street level, suddenly wondering if her new buttwings would let her fly. "you'll have a head full of nightmares for a few days."

Jackpot.

Perhaps a little too jackpot, really. An eternal against a super certainly wasn't a fair fight no matter how one wanted to cut it, but her words - and Alunite's angry, smoldering frown - would make it all too evident to Hiro that these two had history.

"Oh, you again." He rolled his eyes. "Not content to just stay with your little power-stealer friend, uh ? Oh yes, yes, im sure you won't beat me up, oh white paragon of justice... What about those missing civilians, um ? Bet you guys have no idea where they are..."

Yeah, no. Something was coming away from the woman, who was slumping in his hold. Not her starseed, no, thankfully, but something else. A small, white-ish pearl was building up in Alunite's free hand. Perhaps the starseed would have been a better bet, a better bridge for the difference in power levels. But this time Kallichore would not have the advantage of a wounded Alunite who was unaware of the power he was facing. But Alunite's arrogance was about to play against him. He could take this b***h, buttwings or not, and put her in her place. Make her pay for making him look like an idiot.

He just needed to even the playing field a little. The orb of energy was crushed and eaten, and the woman finally released, and left to sluggishly flee to safety. His aura strengthened - not enough to make up for the gap they had, no, but enough to tell Kallichore something was up.

He had better fish to fry.

"Bring it on."

Hiro beamed with pride as a senshi obligingly appeared. Trap successful~! Mid-preen, the senshi's energy signature hit him. Hiro faltered. They'd accidentally summoned an Eternal senshi. Oh dear.

Settling himself on a trash can, Hiro watched the opening remarks with a wide eye. This... was probably not going to end well. Hiro shot Alunite an exaggerated grimace. Hopefully he could also tell that this was Eternal, ie. someone above Alunite's abilities, IE. GET OUT GET OUT QUICKLY.

Unfortunately, there seemed to be a grudge match going on. Greeeeaaaat. Hiro facepawed.

"If you need a hand, er, paw... just let me know," he called out. He did have a handy headlaser at his disposal, along with other magical tricks and abilities. It was fairly likely that both senshi would assume the offer was made to them. Hiro was fine with that mistaken assumption - there was only one cry for help that he would be answering, and it wasn't Kallichore's.

The new eternal wasn't one to brag often - nay, arrogance was something she primarily kept to herself, and only openly grinned like a maniac when her attack actually connected and did something. But before that, she liked to consider herself lucky because of her skills, not her powers. The cat's offer of help was ignored soundly, especially since Alunite seemed to be pulling something from the helpless civilian. This simply would not do. If it was a fight the corrupted wanted, who was she to ignore such a request? Whatever it was that he saw the last time they fought brought him a great deal of fright. Kallichore hoped her upgraded attack would simply compound on it.

"Drop the girl. You know this is simply between you and I." she uttered, taking a few cautious steps forward. Ever since the failed assault on Veritas, Kallichore had been careful to keep open the possibility of an ambush by more soldiers of Chaos hiding in the wings. Several scans revealed nothing in particular, which meant to Kallichore that she could run at full blast (provided that she didn't stomp the civvie - that was generally frowned upon). "No need to get anyone else involved."

With a sharp intake of breath, the eternal launched herself at Alunite, intent on either grappling him or getting down and dirty by pulling a little hair. She wasn't above catfighting tactics - whatever worked, baby! Besides, maybe the cat on the trash can might approve.
