Today, Hel was seated at one of the tables in the cafeteria, absentmindedly chewing on whatever was for lunch that day. Scattered out before her was the robo-kit she had received from Mad Science 101, and dual toned eyes glanced over the pieces she was given thoughtfully. So…another robot, huh? Apparently this one wasn’t going to be anywhere near resembling the one she built. A small frown pulled at the valkyrie’s lips as she thought back to her robot, the brave, courageous little flipper that had met its end upon the pincer of the teacher bot, but helped to pave the way towards victory.

She smiled now, a hand reaching out to roll a nut underneath her fingers. The little flipper bot would continue to leave on through memory! Maybe she’d name this new one in its honor…though she didn’t name the first one did she? Hrmmm…

Having lost the robot battle in Mad Science class, Bea was pretty bummed out about her crappy robot. When she picked up the new robot kit, she was determined to create a better, more efficient bot. The first one she made was a failure and Bea hated the fact that she couldn't have made it perfect the first time. As she carried the kit in the hallways, she noticed Hel sitting in the cafeteria with her own bot kit. Bea gave a smile and headed over to the valkyrie's direction.

"Heeeeey~!" Bea said happily, and slightly louder than her normal speaking tone as she waved to the ghoul she briefly met from class. The ghost ghoul put the kit on the table next to Hel's kit and plopped down in the seat beside her. "Are you busy today?" she asked innocently at Hel.

Hel straightened, her head whipping in the direction of Bea’s voice as she called out to her, and blinked until she found the spot next to her occupied. “…Oh! Bea!” She greeted, a grin coming to her face now. It was the ghoul she battled against in class with their robots! She remembered of course, and she also remembered how enthusiastic the fellow ghoul was about battling as well. The reaper gave a shake of her head. “Not at all, friend, unless something happens to spring up on me today!” Like she sometimes wished it did.

How are you, friend?”

"Oh~! I'm fine... I've been looking for you actually!" Bea said with an enthusiastic tone. "Well, seeing how both our robots were destroyed in our Mad Science class, and you aren't busy today... I was wondering if you'd like to rebuild a new robot together?" She pushed her kit a little closer to to Hel's own kit. Looking at Hel's box, made Bea think of the quick defeat she had experienced in the class. It was horribly embarrassing to say the least...

"Besides," she smiled almost deviously, "We have an epic robot challenge to do!"

The reaper was flattered to hear that Bea was looking for her. Ooh, how nice to be sought after! This put Hel in an even better mood than before, and she readily agreed to Bea’s proposed idea. “Most certainly!” She replied, grinning rather widely now as she pushed her half eaten tray of food off to the side for now to allow them more work space. This seemed like an excellent time to get to know a new friend, in addition to working on her homework. It was a win-win situation!

At Bea’s devious smile, Hel’s expression turned eager, her brows furrowing excitedly at the challenge. “That we do!” The reaper reached over and pulled her kit closer to her, and then started to take the pieces out of it. “Things seem more structured this time around, though!”

Hel's response made Bea excited and even bounced ever so slightly in her seat. "Wonderful!" she said as she clapped her hands together in delight. She watched the valkyrie pushed her food aside. What a waste! Bea was really eager to make a new friend and get to know Hel better, however, she couldn't stand to see food being tossed aside like that. Her face scrunched a bit as she stared at the tray. "Oh, you can finish eating and we can start the homework if you'd like!" trying to put it in a polite way. She turned to look at her box again.

The robot kit was full of supplies, metal pieces and all sorts of... stuff... Bea couldn't really tell which part goes where or how each piece fits together just by looking at it. It seemed she was just as confused as she was in class. Except this time, she was determined to make a better bot. Maybe not a rammer this time. Bea looked over at Hel as she took out some of the pieces already. "More structured? How do you mean?" Bea asked curiously.

The reaper gave a dismissive wave of her hand in regard to Bea’s concern about her tray. “Bah, I’ll finish it, don’t you worry!” Luckily for the ghoul, Hel was a firm believer in no waste as well. “Later friend, later! But if you’re hungry, feel free to help yourself to it as well.” Right now, building this new robot with Bea was way more interesting than eating but as she said, she would finish her tray later. That was a promise!

Structured…like…” Here Hel trailed off for a moment, turning her box upside down to empty it out of any straggling pieces before she placed it off to the side as well. “In class, you just picked what we wanted from a large scrap heap, but here, we have a box of set pieces!” The valkyrie nodded her head firmly, as if this made perfect sense, and hopefully it did! Like her new found friend though, the more Hel stared at her pieces she…wasn’t exactly sure where to start either, but she dove right into it anyways, and grabbed the largest piece from her pile, looking it over.

So Bea…” The ghoul started conversationally, “Tell me more about yourself.”

"Oh~! I see!" Bea's face showed a bit of astonishment. She took a few pieces out of her box and examined it for a bit before setting them neatly on the table.

"Myself? Um... Let's see..." She placed a few pieces together and stopped mid way though, looking at Hel to answer her. "You can probably guess that I'm a fairly new student... I don't have any family... Well, at least, I dont remember having any?" She stopped to think for a moment and shook her head a couple of times.

"But anyway! I'm a very typical ghouly ghoul, I must say. Love to cook and bake. Um, I love shopping, and making my own hair accessories. Oh! And I absolutely loooooove creatures! They are just so adorable! I have three at my dorm. A oil spirit, a fallen jox and a ghost treat. They are my babies, you know?" Bea's speech got faster and faster as she began listing more and more things she likes. "I haven't made very many friends yet, though I have met a lot of wonderful students!" she said enthusiastically as she continued to build her bot.

"What about you?"

Hel’s brows furrowed in concentration as she put a few more pieces together, but as Bea went on to talk about herself, she paused to look at the ghoul and listen.

I am new as well!” She informed with a grin, though it disappeared when she heard that the ghoul didn’t have any family. Her lips pulled into a small frown, though it seemed Bea wasn’t too concerned about it?

Oh?” The reaper perked up at her hobbies. “What do you like to cook?” Baking was something the reaper wasn’t too skilled at, but cooking, yeah, she could do that too! The ghoul nodded her head along as Bea listed off more things, giving a small, cheerful and thoughtful hum before grinning. “I’m sure you’ll make more friends in no time!” When the question was turned on her, the reaper paused for a moment before answering.

I come from a valkyrie family.” Hel started proudly. “I am the youngest out of nine sisters! As for interests…I enjoy training, weaving, leather working…I also enjoy cooking as well. My specialty is beef stew!”
PostPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2011 1:01 am

"Mmmm... Beef stew sounds delicious! If you ever make some, I'd love to try it! Um... Let's see. I suppose I'm more of a baker than a cook. Though when I do cook, I love to make chowder or soups. They go wonderfully with fresh bread!" The robot was finally coming together.

"Oh," Bea laughed a bit about making friends in no time comment, "thank you." She blushed for a bit not sure how to respond to that. Turning back to her robot and fitted more pieces together, Bea listened carefully to Hel's response to her question.

"OH, WOW!" Bea shouted in surprise, "NINE sisters?!" The idea of so many siblings blew her mind. "Oh, sorry!" Bea fiddled with a small bolt in her hands, a bit embarrassed at her outburst. She gave a weak and unsure smile and laughed it off.

"What kind of training for you do?"

Hel grinned. “The next time I make a batch, I shall have a container for you!” The ghoul promised. Oh, she loved to share her stew with others! The reaper looked very interested when Bea stated she liked to make chowder and soups as well, but she looked terribly excited when the ghost brought up freshly baked bread. Oh dear Jack, that just sounded delicious! “We shall have to combine forces one day, friend!” Hel offered merrily. Like…a giant picnic or something.

Think nothing of it!” The ghoul returned, taking this pause in their conversation to piece together more of her robot as well. It was almost done! This wasn’t as time consuming as she thought it would be, but maybe conversing with a new friend was making time pass rather quickly!

The reaper’s head snapped back to Bea as she shouted, and she blinked before laughing loudly. Everyone seemed to have a reaction like that, though Bea’s was quite the loudest so far! “Yes!” She echoed, grinning widely at the ghoul before perking up. “Sparring!” She eagerly replied. “Battle training, weapon training, and I train my body as well!”

Bea was impressed with Hel's enthusiasm for training. "I'm afraid, I'm quite the... how you say... wimp?" Bea giggled, looking at her own robot. "I'm not much of a physical person. Jack, protect me, if I ever get into a fist fight or get bullied!" she said as she was scrunching up her face. "Perhaps you could show me some tips or strategies sometime?" finally relaxing.

Fitting in the last few pieces, the robot was finally complete.

"There!" Bea said triumphantly. Quite frankly, this bot looked a bazillion times better than the ones she made in class. "Are you almost done?" she turned back to look at Hel's bot.

Aww.” Hel cooed when Bea admitted she wasn’t much of a physical person. That was alright! The ghost seemed to have a very dainty but lovely appearance…but she certainly had a spirited personality! Hel did admire that. “No worries, friend, I will protect you!” She proudly and oh so boldly proclaimed. No one would be bullying or fist fighting Beatrix on her watch. Sally have mercy on someone if she caught them doing that…though the reaper did perk up when Bea asked for tricks and strategies. Hel nodded her head vigorously. “Of course! I would be pleased to teach you whenever its convenient!”

When Bea announced she was done, Hel looked over…and was admittedly feeling a bit of robot envy. Whaaaat? Bea’s robot had a wicked looking scythe on it! “Ah…me…yes, I am finished!”

Hel had mixed feelings about hers. While it didn’t tower like Bea’s…its claw arms were kind of cool looking. Regardless…Hel grinned at Bea. “…So friend…is it time for a rematch?”

((OOC: Hey Scy, I’m up for them battling again if you want, but I guess just for the sake of getting this done and wrapped up, would you just want to roll 1 d20 and the highest roll is the winner? : D ))

Protect her? Bea felt very touched by this gesture. She gave Hel a smile and slowly turned to face her clawed bot.

"Wonderful!" Bea's eyes gave a slight glimmer, "Let's get started!"

Though the cafeteria table might not have been the best place to robot battle, Bea didn't care. she wanted that jack damn rematch!

The bot began to start up, eye bulbs glowing. Bea must have grabbed a good box from the class room. Look how destructive this thing was!

Bea's confidence was so high, SO HIGH! Without a announcing her starting attack, she already sent out her bot towards Hel's, ready or not. A little trail of smoke began to rise from her little doom bot...

((OCC: sounds good to me! Let's wrap this thing up! ...LMFAO 1?!?!?!?))

Hel couldn’t agree more.

Like Bea, she didn’t care that they probably shouldn’t be battling on the cafeteria table. They were here, their robots were built, it was going to happen right now. As Bea sent her creation forth, Hel leapt to her feet once more, her fists clenching as she stared at the bots. She sent forth her Slowbot, watching as it was moving rather well…slow. Ugh. Hel wasn’t so sure about this anymore…but she was suddenly feeling hopeful as Bea’s bot started to trail smoke.

As the DoomBot drew closer to the SlowBot, one of its claws slowly reached out and poked its wheel.

LMAO. Bea and Hel maintain their rep of being poor robot builders with a 1 and a 4. I LOVE it.
