Region; Hoen Location; Lilycove
What a noisy city... Mindless, pointless noise... What a headache...
But the waves and sloshing of water were able to drown out most of the unwelcome bumblings of the town behind him. It was even calming.. soothing, and made his mind resort to a more primitive time in his life. When he'd still been a tiny penguin in the colder regions of the world. Nestled under his mother and father in turn, always graced with the accompaniment of ceaseless swaying water. It would lap at the bay of ice, that which refused to freeze into sheets of ice. It was his favorite song, his lullaby, a pacifier to all that might plague his mind. Such a time seemed like a dream now, unreachable, and hardly fathomable... As the Piplup's reminiscing continued it began to take a turn towards sour rather than sweet. Memories he wished he could forget began to poison into his positive image to contort into the last time he'd been able to enjoy such a life. The blood, cries, barks, yelling... the chaos that swarmed the entire flock. The fire that burned so brightly, accenting the dark red liquid stained across the victims and ground. Even his own body... the skinned pelts, ripped crowns...
Gasping sharply, yet quietly, a hand made a motion to lift from out of the confines of his cloak, but he stopped it, deep blue eyes staring at the creeping water along the banks of the beach upon which he stood. His mind always got locked into a depressing train of thought like that, when remembering his past life. And it still hit him like a truck... Heart pattering faster behind his ribcage, Felek's face only showed the slightest bit of distress by his parted lips which soundly took in and expelled faster. He shouldn't have let his mind indulge for so long... it always resulted this way. Arm relaxing once more at his side, hidden behind his cloak to which he fluffed lightly causing it to cover more of his body, that focused gaze remained trained on its pinpoint until his vitals were more stable. A few of the licking waves tried to touch the tips of his boots, but never managed to reach them. It was this process that he now watched, ears tuned into the hush of the water easing back and forth restlessly. If only he could lay on the surface again... float and let it guide him where ever it so desired... allow his mind to grow blank as if he were a vacant carcass. Erase the memories of past. But those echoes of shrill cries would always sound in his deepest imind. Always reminding him of whence he came. The water churned slightly, and even danced below its sleek top, currents swirling about below. The Piplup was controlling it, using it as an excuse and means to distract his never resting mind.

Corydon couldn't help but think this was a lovely day for a swim, and having recently arrived in Lilycove, he knew he was in the right place for it, too. Most--Pokemon and people alike--wouldn't have considered the weather warm enough for such an activity, but his cold body rejoiced in the mild warmth of such a day. He'd been here before with his trainer, and smiled to himself in reminiscence of the time they had visited this beach together, her in a red polka-dotted bikini, and him still a small Glaceon.
As he descended the stairs to the eponymous cove, he eagerly started to slip off his shoes, ready to feel the sand between his toes. Once he hit the waterfront, he half-skipped off to the North, knowing the deeper waters, good for swimming, were there. As he rounded the corner, however, he slowed as he noticed another blue-clad young man playing, not in, but with, the water. He continued his approach, and cleared his throat, hoping not to startle the other boy before asking, "Excuse me, but will you be using these waters for long?"

His fingers bent and traced the air, while the water mimicked the enchantment, seemingly dancing atop of itself. It even rose up into a ribbon of liquid to curl and curve into intricate designs, like a snake trapped in a trance by a charmer. This water was different though... not like his home's. It was warmer, even if the day were below average temperatures. The frigid glacier water was what he loved... though the new form he sported could no longer survive in it. Though he was a Piplup, he was now part human as well. And there were certain climates that a nude body such as their's could not sustain in for long periods of times. He was no different now... clothing was necessary. It was irritating at times; so clingy, and weighted. Nothing like his plumage. Tail hidden under his cloak gave a slight flicker at the thought.. such lovely feathers he'd had...
But his attention was caught quick, and his eyes slid over to spy the figure that now joined him. Immediately he allowed the water to collapse into itself, and straightened out, arms slipping back under his fabric veil. He watched the other man intently, sharp, deep eyes half-lidded, and unblinking. That tail, and those ears... another of his kind. He didn't reply for awhile, his face unchanged. But eventually, he did... "You're free to do as you please." he replied calmly. After all.. there was more than enough water...

Internally, Corydon wanted to frown. He didn't like how cold this other person seemed, though it briefly occurred to him how appropriate the term was for one who had once been a Pokemon from a cold climate. He supposed maybe he had interrupted something and perhaps deserved the coldness, but these were public beaches, and he had been as polite as he could. So, externally he chose to put on a charming smile, to try to warm the situation a bit.
"Thanks, I appreciate it," he said as he started to remove his head gear, "I just wanted to take a bit of a swim." He proceeded to take of further pieces of unnecessary clothing as he decided to ask, "would you like to join me?"

He watched the Glaceon in an observant manner. It was always a secret kept from his conscious, but the Piplup always wondered just how other's had gotten to this stage as well. Gaining a human's figure. And how had they adapted? Of course, he didn't let such thoughts linger too long. After all, why should he care? His eyes slid away from the other man, returning his gaze upon the calming waves once more. He'd just let him do his thing, and he'd do his own. This wasn't his ocean. Everyone was entitled to enjoying it... even if he didn't appreciate the company.
However... his tail twitched as the other spoke again, eyes snapping over to him, shock hidden behind adamant eyes. Join him? a complete stranger? It took a great deal for Felek not to contort the other's intentions into that of a means of attacking him in any sort of way... after all, he'd shown no sort of hostility. Probably just one of those carefree types he always saw. But he remained composed, features remaining semi-soft, with just enough sharpness, "No. Thank you." he replied smoothly. As much as he desired to swim, he would not do so in with another. He'd never allow himself to be vulnerable like that. Regardless of how harmless the offer was. Though... he was more than certain he wouldn't have to worry about being at a disadvantage should the need to defend himself arise... Again with those thoughts... he returned back to the water, once again having to calm his restless mind.

Corydon shrugged at the other man's refusal and piled his clothes away from the water's edge before striding towards the now gently lapping waves. He hadn't left all of his clothes behind--he thought in this new form that would be a bit tasteless--but he'd removed anything that might hinder his movement in the water. He waded in until the water reached above his knees before pushing his legs out from under himself and plunging headfirst into the seawater.
He was unused to the movements required to swim in this new form, so he raised his head fairly quickly as he adjusted to the sort of "doggy-paddle" required to stay afloat. As he held position, churning the water around him, he felt a small bump to his side, and then another shortly thereafter on his leg. He held as still as he could--and still stay upright--so he could see through the water's reflective surface. He laughed with delight at what he saw.
"Hey!" he called out to the fellow on the shore, "you should see this," he shouted, "there are hundreds of water Pokemon out here! I think you stirred up their food!" He laughed again as another one of them nudged a spot where he was ticklish and yet another seemed to be after his toes.

Since the other gent seemed now preoccupied with his own enjoyment of the water, Felek let a finger return from behind his cloak to very slightly twitch to and fro, letting the water dance again. Subtly. Such strange water this was... more so than the kind that was found in faucets.
His attention was piqued as he heard, and saw, the water begin to slosh in a most unusual manner. Flicking his eyes up, the other gijinka's voice reached him loud and clear. Pokemon? In a sort of reflex, he took a single and slight step forward, stiffening as he felt the water n** at the tips of his boots. Staring to where the Glaceon was he watched with concealed awe the fellow water types wading about so carelessly. Upon the other man's request though, he pulled his foot back to join the other, face dulling. No... he was fine right there.. He'd caused them to surface, huh? Curious... In truth, it was a bit amusing... just a little bit, to watch. And even the sliiightest bit comforting. Seeing other's of his kind...

Corydon kept an eye on the piplup curiously as he hesitated by the waters edge. He let his fingers dance on the waters surface, breaking the water tension just slightly. One of the small fish-like pokemon under the water bit as his fingertip, making him jolt and let out a noise of pain. Having lost control of his balance, his head bobbed under the water briefly, but he was able to regain air quickly, though he sputtered as the water had gotten in everywhere.
"Are you sure... you don't want to come in?" he hoped that he could break the other gijinka's hesitation, as it was always more fun to swim with friends. "It's really nice... refreshing!" He put on his biggest smile for show.
