Samm yawned, the day was reaching its hottest point and still Dene hadn't found him. They were playing a game of Hide and Seek, just the two of them, tracking each other down to a point and then trying not to use their noses to finally find the other. It was a game that Samm had thought of that morning and had only been able to convince Dene to join him. He has told his older brother that he though they used their noses all the time but what if they had to find each other, or someone else, and for some reason scenting for them wasn't possible. He thought of Cass and the others, wouldn't they be surprised when it was just him and Dene that knew how to do it.
He had gone out quite far from where he and the other cubs usually played, he's managed to slip past several adults that were patrolling, without being noticed. He didnt usually take that kind of risk, preferring the safety of the main bulk of the pride but he came so far out today, to prove to Dene that he wasnt chicken, that he was just as brave as his older brother. Thinking about Dene and Cass and the others, his mind went to his parents and his stomach growled loudly. Samm cursed under his breath, something he'd heard one of the adults say once. He poked his head out of his hiding place, when Dene found him he would suggest going home....maybe.. or maybe they could go and practice hunting first, after all, wouldn't everyone be proud of the two boys, bringing home their first ever Kill, Samm smiled to himself and waited, though he couldn't resist constantly poking his head out of the bush he was hiding in, just to see if Dene was anywhere near.

They had been trying to hone a new skill, in an attempt to learn hunting more than just with their noses. However it was harder than it seemed. Dene and Samm had found each other a few times, but this time was a bit more difficult. Samm much have gone out further than before, because Dene hadnt usually had this much trouble finding him. He couldnt say he didn't cheat and not use his nose once, or twice, but it still hadn't resulted in finding the juvenile.
He frowned a bit, growing a bit annoyed with the game. He hated playing games anyway, he wanted to grow up! He didn't want to play silly games. He had things to do, and talents to hone. But he had agreed to play, wanting Samm to be able to learn a few of the skills that were important in life. If anyone was the type to push Samm out of his element, it was Dene.
"Sammy.." He grumbled, eyes ticking this way, then that. He wasnt too fond of being so far away from the bulk of the pride, but he didn't really think too much into it.

Samm stifled a giggle, he'd caught sight of Dene a way off but Samm stayed hidden in the bush although his stifled laugh shook the branches a little. This game was fun, and a good life lesson one day but in the back of his mind he was thinking about getting back to the pride, back to their parents and some lunch. His stomach growled loudly and he gritted his teeth, knowing that Dene would pick up on it but he refused to leave the bush... maybe Dene didn't know exactly where he was. Samm wanted to surprise his older brother and startle him. He rarely got the chance to make his brother jump but this was as good a chance as he would get today and he smiled, stifling another laugh.
