On an ordinary day, you might assume that the sanctuary of your home, your apartment, or even your Dorm room would be free from assaults. Even when you were part of the Dark kingdom there was a certain expectation that you could give up, and perhaps catch up on some of the sleep you’d been depriving yourself of.

That was the opinion that Zac had been of when he lay down, achingly tired having finally closed his notebooks and tried to sleep. He lay down on top of the covers without so much effort as to pull his shoes off; one arm flopped over the well-abused panda that served as a confidant as well as a comfort.

Given that guardian cats, corrupted or not were in charge of Senshi, corrupted or not, he might later argue that he was justified in not expecting one in his Dormitory. Let alone expecting one with this particular cat’s intention or drive.

Really, it was quite disappointing. The head of the Negaverse's information network, one of their best strategic advisors... and he couldn't even tell when he was being followed. Not only that, but he also couldn't tell when he wasn't alone in a room, couldn't feel the eyes (well, eye) staring right down at him.

No, Hiro was not impressed.

But that was alright. That why was the Negaverse had him, after all. To whip everyone else into shape.

From up on one of Zac's shelves, Hiro stared down at his target. The kid hadn't even noticed the slight disarray of his objects, Hiro having had to push aside a few books to make room for himself to perch and wait. Well, Zac was about to regret his inattention.

As the young General lay down on his bed and closed his eyes, Hiro's eye narrowed. He leapt. Legs and claws extended, he launched himself at Zac's head.

"CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" he screeched.

Who said that kids' media wasn't teaching the important things any more?

Zac was up in a heartbeat, swearing vehemently and trying to pull at the tiny assailant without removing too much of his own scalp. “What the HELL? HIRO?” He yelped and then tried to lower his voice. God knows what his neighbors had to be thinking at this point. “GET” he snarled “OFF!” Tiny little razor claws like the worst kind of Velcro puncturing everywhere he didn’t want.

God he remembered why he hated cats. Chloe had been the first solid reason for it; she’d torn the dickens out of his leg and part of his hand. He in turn had broken her tail and wished very strongly he’d broken her tiny neck.
“When I pry you off.” He growled. Oh yes, Clever and dangerous cat or no he was launching the little rat b*****d at the WALL.

Hell, he was going to find catnip and bring it to the next meeting Hiro wanted to try and be dignified at. Did catnip work for Guardian cats?

Zac took hold and sure enough, Hiro flew at the wall. But it wasn't the best of throws (claws gave some nice sticking power, after all), so Hiro twisted mid-air before impact. His paws hit the wall and gaave him an extra spring to launch himself down to the end of Zac's bed.

"Haha!" Hiro cried. His best superior kitty expression was in place as he stared down the tiny General, tail lashing wildly. Hiro wasn't deterred by the throw. "That's what you get for letting your guard down! You didn't even notice you were being followed home."

What if it had been a white moon cat who'd followed Zinkenite from a battle, to a dorm room? Secret identities weren't so secret when an infamous General slept the same place as a civilian who, hey, looked pretty similar to that guy, right? You think maybe...?

No, Hiro was not going to risk it. So because he liked Zinkenite, Hiro was going to make sure that the General was ready for attacks at all times. Zac should be grateful.

Zac didn't look grateful. But that was alright - the lesson wasn't over yet. Ears back, Hiro lowered his chest to the bed, ready to pounce once again...

“Do you have any idea how long it’s been since I –SLEPT?” He snapped and grabbed a fist full of pillow to put between him and the assaulting cat. If this kept up he was taking them both back to the Dark Kingdom for a proper ‘Talk.’

Well, perhaps not there, the last thing he needed to do right now as accidently fling a Cat at the Queen’s head. Somewhere else private would do if he didn’t let up, though he wasn’t terribly looking forward to the idea of holding on to him long enough to teleport.

“Son of a b***h I’m bleeding you little…” He snarled swinging the pillow around to try and intersect the leaping feline. Thank GOD it wasn’t a feather pillow or it would probably end up looking like he’d been killing chickens in his dorm room. What the hell had he done to deserve all this misfortune? Thank GOD Hiro hadn’t ever learned that Chloe had once been spotted on the walls of Hillworth.

“I’ll watch for cats from now on for heaven sake just lay OFF, go follow a senshi!” He flustered.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 14, 2011 11:58 pm

Hiro ducked. He dove. He - ow, not so hard, you big meanie! - he hissed spitefully at Zac. Oh, it was on, tiny midget and evil pillow! A few more minutes, and several glancing blows from both claws and pillow later, and Hiro was willing to concede a draw. For now.

Hiro paused, far enough out of range of the pillow that if Zac wanted to hit his attacker, he would have to throw it - and lose his only weapon. Nose in the air, he sniffed. "Why would I follow a white moon senshi? I don't care if they end up dead."

Oh wait, Zac probably meant discover the identity of someone just as unaware as Zac had been tonight. Hmm. Not a bad plan, but the senshi were also more used to having Guardian Cats around and therefore spotting them and stopping to chat. Which was great for Hiro's other plot, trying to get information out of them, but it hindered the discovery of secret identities when the target thought you were there to send them off on extra work.

"Lack of sleep is no excuse. When do you think the senshi will try to sneak up on you? While you're wide awake and holding your smoke balls ready to counter-attack?"

Hiro gave a snort-chirp at Zac's promise to watch for cats from now on. Oh, if only it were as easy as saying so, silly boy. "Shall I test you on that?" he asked with an entirely too smug tilt to his head. That was the great thing about feline body language - almost everything looked smug or superior (as it should).

“Maybe you could scratch one of them up instead of me, It’s a damned good thing that whatever glamor hides us works so well, nothing like a few distinctive and visible scratches to make ties between in uniform and not.”

He paused then, a dangerously bristly pause at that. “No I do not want, or need you testing me on that, I want a few hours to SLEEP so that MAYBE I can work out some kind of plan so that I won’t end up a smoldering crisp at the queen’s FEET.” He snarled irritably.

“If you push your luck, I swear I’ll make sure you regret it…surely there is some recruit you could be enlightening as to the ways of war?!”

A human might have sneered, but cats were above that sort of thing. Hiro's nose went up into the air and he suddenly found the wall to be incredibly interesting. Silly General, turning down Hiro's offer of training. Hmph. Well, it wasn't like Hiro needed permission to test Zac's reflexes from time to time, fufufu~

"You should be nicer to me," Hiro announced. "Here I am, following you home when I could be napping or training, just to give you special information..."

He paused, letting it sink in. Anticipation was so under-valued these days. Everyone wanted everything right now now NOW. No wonder they didn't appreciate the things that they had, if they all came so easily.

But Hiro was here for something more important that complaining about those damn kids today. His eye swung back in Zac's direction. "You are still after that pesky redhead, aren't you?"

Zink gazed back at the infuriating cat. He would have made a good cat himself in another lifetime, piercing gaze, unrelenting and perhaps too direct at times. “Birhan?” He asked arching an eyebrow.

“Alright, saying that I might still be interested.” He tipped his chin up almost a mockery of the ‘fascinated by the wall’ pose. “What is it you are after in return short of my blood?” He pressed. God yes he wanted information on ‘that senshi’. Anyone who could duplicate the attacks of others was dangerous, if they could take her, or kill her.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 25, 2011 9:33 pm

Oh yes, Hiro hadn't been wrong about Zac's interest. Of all the pesky redheads out there, he immediately leapt to that one. Hiro had thought Zac might, especially after what Dahlia had told him of a failed battle between Zinkenite's Veritas group and a Birhan-lead group of that Blood Moon Court.

"Mmmhmm," he hummed agreement, swinging his head back to face Zac. "I've been keeping my ears and eye out for her. That lot seem to have gone underground recently, but she's still seen out and about every so often... Almost always in the same neighbourhood."

Hiro's good eye dropped to half-mast. It sounded promising. Perhaps a regular patrol shift... or perhaps Birhan Isat's home lay within that patrol sector? Either way, it was information that Zinkenite could make good use of, the Mauvian thought.

Back arching, Hiro's fur fluffed up and his ears flattened to his head. "What am I, some human informer to need a reward? I am on your side, you know." Zinkenite had supplied Hiro infomation for his schemes, now Hiro was returning the favour. He wasn't even keeping count - it wasn't like Hiro was in the race to earn favour for the next promotion. And even if he had been, he was already Tanzanite's right-hand cat. If there was a position above, Hiro didn't want it. (Beryl's cat? The very idea made him want to hide under Zac's bed and never come out again.)

"Besides, getting rid of that entire Blood court can only be a good thing for all of us." No more kidnappings or torturings. It would be nice to have one less thing to worry about when Alkaid, Lyra, Alunite and the others went out on missions without him.

“Astute of you, but forgive me for my suspicions.” He rubbed at the tattered ears carefully; ready to yank his hand back at any moment as he considered the information. “It would be a marvelous thing, now if we just knew why Ares wasn’t there. She’s where we could hit them the hardest, but she wasn’t THERE.” He furrowed his brow in consideration. At least this information would suit the plans of Ilmenite and Alunite rather well.

“Still, a little payback for my own failed mission, that would be rather delightful. Tell me where she’s been making her rounds, let’s see if we can’t use some of my old notes to cross reference, perhaps find patterns I missed before.

"Internal squabbles?" Hiro suggested. Unlike their own side, the white moon senshi had no real leadership guidelines. Messy and unorganised, it wouldn't surprise him if they fell to petty power struggles in the middle of a war. Well, all the better for the Negaverse, really. And if in the confusion Hiro managed to steal away a few more senshi to their side... fufufu~!

Oooh, distracted by head scritches..! Hiro leaned ever so slightly into the hand. Slowly, his eye drifted further closed. No, wait, there was no time for napping! Information!

Straightening, Hiro cleared his throat. "Have you got a map? It might be easiest to compare our findings on that."

“Of course.” He said and stood to jimmy at a desk drawer, it should have been a simple maneuver but he did something to it, and then fished out an open bottle of water. How strange!
After it was safely set to one side he fished out a well-abused map and spread it out over his desk, it was a simple city map showing points of interest. Designed mostly for tourists it also helped him give points of reference to people so they would wind up where he wanted them to if he needed to meet someone. Sometimes when a person didn’t know where a named rather than numbered street was they DID remember that odd little store called ‘papyrus’ or something like it.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 13, 2011 8:59 pm

Hiro padded over to Zac and the map - not without first eyeing Zac carefully to see if this wasn't a trap for another pillow-attack. It took him a few moments to convert the 2D top-view of the city with his rather bottom-up feline perspective.

"Alrrrrrright," he said to himself, edging around on the map. "If we're here... Birhan keeps getting spotted..."

One paw lifted and delicated touched the map. "Here. And here." Both places were very close by, technically the similar neighbourhood, or ones right next to each other. "Either there's something special she likes about the area, enough to continually patrol to protect it, or she lives here herself and my people are just spotting her leaving and returning from patrols."

Either way, it would make a very good opportunity for someone on their side.

"Happy hunting?" Hiro suggested with an evil look in his eye.

Zac carefully jotted the locations on the map them drew a very light pencil line between them. “One more, just one more and we could…” He stopped mid thought and just sighed in small frustration. Two was outstanding. “Thank you, this is really quite outstanding as it is.” He nodded and absently scratched behind Hiro’s ear again.

“Perhaps if this works out more people will value the power of knowing the enemy specifically and not just as some ‘face’. Well done, very well done indeed, I’ll see to it that the results make their way to you as well.” He said with a wicked glint in his eyes to match the one in the cats.
