The school office door slammed shut angrily as two figures stomped out, one set of footsteps slightly more punctuated than the other. Papers flew left and right as the Amityville school secretary struggled to match pace with the Gymnasium professor, both of them with equally dour - if not more dour than usual- expressions.
"Red-" Arel was struggling in keeping his voice anything beyond a loud whisper, boots shuffling down the the hallway beside the taller professor. "-Don't just walk away from this, you owe me an explanation for-" He paused as he was temporarily blocked by a rather raucous gang of second years returning back from Basebat practice, looking around guiltily at the overcrowded hallway for a second before lowering his voice so that it was just barely audible -"Are you seriously sure?"
((OOC:
- This is an event ORP that is happening in the main school hallway (next to the office), one of the busiest places in Amityville! It is up to you whether or not your student chanced to hear them. - IF your student did indeed stumble upon their conversation, they are free to follow the two staff members, if they so wish, but make sure they are not spotted! For now, even if they want to interact with each other, make sure that their roleplays are very inconspicuous as not to arouse any suspensions from the professors! - You can post your RP at any point in time, but remember that creating unnecessary attention upon your characters might attract the staff at any point in time!))

Ren had, for the most part, not been paying the slightest bit of attention to where he had been walking.
For a better portion of the morning he had been studiously ignoring the blaring phone calls and postal letters from his parents, demanding he return home at once and instead had gone to see LW. Ren had yet to actually tell his parents that he was dating the same girl they had been so horrified over before, though he did really look forward to smearing it in their faces when the time came.
Now, however, he was completely lost in thought, his mind working to figure out a particularly difficult puzzle he had been asked on his Groanspring the other day. He was not entirely certain where it had come from, exactly, but Gabrian had refused to tell him the answer when he had tried to weasel it out of him, leaving Ren to try and solve it on his own.
Which was why he did not really see the two professors up ahead until he was several feet away from them.
"...are you seriously sure?"
One of Ren's ears perked up, swiveling towards the voice. Unless he was mistaken, it belonged to the school secretary, Arel; a fact made true when he saw a familiar flash of pale blue hair just up ahead. The secretary's usually dry, bored sounding voice now held a tone of anxiety to it. And the woman next to him was none other than Professor Red, their somewhat...er, unorthodox gym teacher.
...that's strange, Ren thought curiously, discretely moving to the side so that he could surreptitiously listen to the conversation, looking down at the puzzle on his skellyphone screen (his mind was miles away from it, however). It was probably not a very nice thing to do, eavesdrop, but he had never actually heard Arel speak that way before.
What is he asking about? Sure about what?

Something was wrong. At least, that was what Xiu's first thought was when she accidentally overhead the two staff members conversing to one another. From the looks of things--and the fact that Arel was making an obvious effort to keep his voice low--whatever they was discussing was probably some kind of secret business.
Upon realizing this, the Baku was about to continue on her way when she caught a flash of pink hair. Curiously, she watched as Lizzy pulled out her phone and changed direction, now moving in the way that Arel and Red were heading in. Hmmm...was she following them? Secret business, sneaking around...
Oh ho! Was Lizzy doing some stealth training for the love squad? Perking up, Xiu hurried after her friend, keeping her steps as light and quiet as she could manage. Once she caught up, she smiled and gave a little wave in greeting. What are you doing? The Baku mouthed, eyes wide. If it was training, would it be okay if she joined?

The voice that called out to him was familiar, though Ren's focus had been entirely on the matter at hand - following the two suspicious teachers. However, he turned anyway to see who he had thought it was.
Natalia.
He did not know what to say to her. Their last meeting had been...well, not exactly what it was supposed to have been, and Ren's cheeks coloured as he tried to shove away the memory of that unpleasant evening. They had both acted stupidly, their fight, their stinging words, the mutual anger in their voices, and the fact that they had been so completely at odds with one another for so long. Not to mention what had happened after that, of which the memory was tainted. It was fortunate that Gabrian had been there, at the right time and place, letting Ren have an escape route when he had so desperately needed one.
And now, seeing her here, after several months of not talking, followed by their summer break, made him not entirely sure where either of them stood. But he did not want to feel the way he did anymore.
"...hey," he said finally, and though he kept walking, his eyes flickering towards the two teachers ahead, Ren gave her the smallest of smiles, hardly visible. He inclined his head towards Red and Arel, putting a finger to his lips, his voice barely above a whisper. His steps were normal, his stride casual, but he could not take the chance of the two noticing they were being followed - especially since, glancing around, Ren could see he was not alone.
"Keep quiet."
