Hug-bell moved towards where they were keeping the food she looked around it was hard to miss a pastel yellow senshi sneaking along but she tried to do it anyways.

Hoping to sneak past Fritz and test him on how well he could protect the food he'd been put in charge of protecting.

Fritz was still sitting in the kitchen at Virgo, munching absently on a peanut butter and fluff sandwich, his feet propped up in front of him on the chair he sat on. It was broken and splintered, and would probably fall apart at the slightest movement, but he was there anyway.

The piece of paper in his lap was propped up on the smoothest piece of wood he could find, acting as a rough sort of clipboard as Fritz sketched out another drawing of the kitchen, the pile of assorted food in front of him looking haphazard and messy.

When he spoke, his voice was lightly teasing.

"You're not going to be taking anything without asking, now are you, Miss Bear?"

Though he hadn't turned around, his back to the door, he had heard her footsteps, caught the bright yellow out of the corner of his eye. Fritz's gaze flickered towards the little senshi, eyes dancing with mischief.

"Come to check up on me?"

Hug-bell froze. Aw fiddlesticks, he caught her. "I was making sure you were still doing your job." She paused looking at the sandwich, "How many of those have you ate?"

She had no idea what kind it was but still the point was he was eating it, and she hoped he'd hadn't ate more than one or so.... She stood there looking at the kitchen observing the state it was in.

"That Chair isn't safe." She stated as she walked around the room. Looking for other things that should be done, obviously there was work to do. "Hm... maybe we need to get some stuff up here to repair things."

He gave a look of mock despair.

"Of course I'm doing my job," Fritz said, pretending to sound wounded as he put a hand to his chest, adopting a falsely hurt look on his freckled face. "Who do you think I am, anyway?"

After a moment he grinned, however, breaking the facade, and waved a hand in a noncommittal fashion. "It's perfectly safe," Fritz answered breezily. "I've been sitting here for twenty minutes and have yet to have anything happen to me other than getting a splinter in a particularly uncomfortable place. Please, join me," he added, gesturing to the chair beside him, which was only slightly less dilapidated than his own.

Fritz went back to sketching, pausing again after a few minutes. He glanced over at Hug-bell. "Wanna be a model for me?" he asked, grinning.

The child chuckled at the mock despaired look, "Well I'm just making sure." She nodded her head.

She glanced at the chair still unsure of it. So she didn't bother using the other, slightly less broken looking chair to climb up on the cabinet, instead she placed her hands on the counter and lifted herself up with ease having found a spot that hadn't been occupied by food yet. "I'd rather not attempt using unsafe chairs for sitting on. They're better weapons if you needed to fight something."

She watched as he sketched, "I can, do you need better paper?" She pulled her pack around and was digging in it and produced a few mechanical pencils and some different colored paper in a spiral bound notebook, it looked like the book had rainbowbrite on the front of it. "I normally keep paper for taking notes on or something." She offered him the book, "I know it's not big, but it's better than old paper?"

"Feel free to make sure all you want," said Fritz grandly. "I am always grateful for the company of such a lovely young lady such as yourself."

He wondered how old Hug-bell was; she and Hygeia seemed to be around the same age, and he doubted there was more than a year or two apart in their years. How long have they been senshi, then? If they're both around ten or eleven, how long have they been fighting with the strength of a grown woman?

Pushing aside these musings, Fritz looked at Hug-bell with a pleased expression. "I would be delighted to have some better paper, yes," he answered, happily taking the notebook from her small hands. "I have been working on old parchment, and let me just say that thousand year old paper is not exactly easy to work with."

Turning to a bright pink page, Fritz picked up a pencil and turned to face Hug-bell.

"Now," he said cheerfully. "Pick a pose."

She grinned at him, "Good. At least you won't be getting lonely."

The child gave a nod, watching curiously as Fritz seem to space out for a bit, "Anything wrong?" She asked leaning a bit closer with a worried look. Obviously anything being wrong was a bad sign, specially if he wasn't feeling good.

She smiled however when he took the paper, giving a chuckle, "I wouldn't think it would be. It's pretty but not something I'd want to doodle on. Unless, maybe finger paints but I'd be worried it'd fall apart."

She nodded as he said pick a pose and she pondered for a second before going back to leaning towards him her hands close to her body holding on to the cabinet for support. "How's this?" She asked as a few curls fell out of her hood.

It was the "lonely" that caught him; Fritz's smile faltered just the slightest, only the barest flicker of something else, something different than his normal cheerfulness, passing through his eyes. But it was gone as quickly as it had come, and most likely Hug-bell had not even notice the subtle and very brief change in his demeanor.

"Not with you around, I certainly won't be," he replied genially, and then gave her a small smile, reaching out to pat her head.

"I'm perfectly fine," Fritz answered gently. "Don't worry about me, okay Miss Bear? Fred the Extraordinaire is quite delightful, especially now that he has the company of such a lovely young lady in his presence.

"And all paper has its place," came the vaguely cryptic answer, Fritz giving Hug-bell a secretive smile as if he were sharing something almost scandalous in nature. He waited patiently while she figured out where she wanted to stand, then gave her a thumbs up.

"Perfect. Now hold still for about five minutes."

The pencil swept across the paper, quick and determined, Fritz's eyes focused on the lines. After a moment or two of silence, he said "So. What's it like, really, being a senshi person?"

Her head tilted, with a brow lofted as he seemed to be quite for a few but was suddenly talking cheerfully again. "Good, I wouldn't want you to be, 'cause if you were I'd make sure to send you a friend."

She smiled, "I worry about everyone." She stuck her tongue out playfully, "It's part of my job."

She gave a nod when he said all paper has its place, "Just like toys have theirs." She knew this all too well, it was just sometimes when it was really old she questioned if it was still usable, specially paper.

She could hold still, that was easy. She watched as Fritz drew and then started talking. "It's like... being a super hero really. We fight the bad guys, only these guys are really just confused I think. It's dangerous most of the time, we get hurt or what not but that's 'cause we're not like superman. We don't have that sort of power. We can jump higher and we're a little stronger I guess, but it's not like we can't be killed..."

She paused for a second thinking and gave a slight shrug before going back to her pose, "Honestly, it's interesting. Sometimes fun, sometimes not. We can get in trouble a lot; specially when you're my age and your parents catch you sneaking out to save the day." She grinned, "But I mean we can't protect people if we're stuck in the house."

"Friends are good," Fritz said, almost absently, his mind already working to extinguish the thoughts of Tolliver and home from his head. He did not want to make the little senshi uncomfortable, and smiled down at her when she stuck out her tongue.

"As do I, darling," he said, with a mock heaviness to his voice. "It comes with the territory of being raised as such, I'm afraid."

His pencil moved swiftly across the paper, already forming a face from the haphazardly sketched lines laid down for the groundwork of the drawing. "I do love a good toy," came the slightly muffled answer - Fritz had raised a hand to rub at his nose. "I'm quite fond of the yo-yo myself. My brother is a genius at those Rubik's Cubes, but I'm afraid I'm not quite as talented as he is when it comes to puzzles."

A curved line shaded the side of Hug-bell's face; then another for the curls that framed her cheeks. "A superhero, eh?" Fritz replied, and paused for a moment, scrutinizing the girl cautiously. "But you're careful, right?" he said seriously. Despite the maturity of how she acted, there was no denying that she could not possibly be older than twelve at the most, and he had a feeling she was not even that. "You're not just recklessly jumping into things?"

There was a small moment of silence, and then he resumed drawing. After a moment, Fritz asked "And who are these 'bad guys,' then? Are they like the space whale thing?"

Hug-bell watched as Fritz seemed to not want to talk about friends. In her mind she was already trying to formulate how to make him her friend.

She cracked a grin when he said it came with the territory, "You'd make a good super hero then." She said what a nod. The child would've pulled Barnaby from his subspace pocket, but she was sitting still for Fritz so he could draw.

"I'm more partial to stuffed animals. They're comfortable and can comfort someone when they need it. Barnaby's a great help to me when I need his assistance."

She paused, "As careful as I can be. I can't say I haven't had close calls, but it's important I think, to try to have the bad guys understand they're doing wrong." The child was watching him carefully as he asked this, "No, not reckless. Sometimes we have to uh... wing it with the fight but I try to stay out of fights if I can help it."

She paused, "Some of them are probably like the space whale. Those are more monsters though. Like you see in power rangers?" She offered as a comparison. "They like to drain energy and they use to steal starseeds." The child nodded, "Iunno what the space whale does though I've never seen one. It might not be the same type of monster...." she paused, "There's also the negaverse. They're human, but they're like uh... Rita Repulsa. They carry different sorts of weapons, I've seen one with a bow and arrow and another with knifes on a chain; they have lots of different weapons though."

"I'd be a great superhero," said Fritz, in a purposefully over dramatic tone. He took a pause from his drawing to pose exuberantly like the cover of a Superman comic book, but then laughed lightly, shaking his head. "Nah, in all honesty, I'm not so sure I'd be cracked up to do such a thing. I'm a little weird, y'know."

He gave a wink to the little girl, then resumed drawing. "Stuffed animals are delightful," Fritz said, after a few moments of losing himself in his work. "I remember I used to have a stuffed iguana that my mum had gotten me when I was a child. I think I still have it somewhere, actually..."

His eyes flickered towards Hug-bell, filled with a gentle expression. "Good," Fritz said, and nodded. "As long as you're being careful, that's good."

Dark red brows rose yet again. "Power Rangers..?" he said, trying to picture it in his mind, but something else caught his attention before he could start imaging himself as the Red Ranger. "Humans?" Fritz repeated, with a slightly sharp tone to his voice. "The Negaverse, huh..."

He trailed off, absently chewing on the end of his pencil. It made sense to have a faction of bad to oppose the faction of good, but it was all still a little confusing, perhaps even a touch convoluted.

Fritz sighed. He reached out, tugging on one lavender curl. "Sit still," he told her with a quiet smile.

Hug-bell giggled as Fritz posed, "Weird's fine, there's a lot of weird superheroes. I've seen all sorts of spheres, I'm comfort; Hygiea is herbs, and there's Sailor Iris who is senshi of Rainbows... I think.... and Polaris can throw around metals."

She smiled, "Stuffed animals always make good friends when you don't have anyone else you can talk to. They never tell your secrets."

Hug-bell paused with a frown, "According to the negaverse we senshi are Aliens. Apparently we use to live on the stars instead of on earth. However, we now live on earth and I don't think we can go back home. I mean you see how destroyed this place is....." she paused thinking a small frown trying to creep on her face, "I wonder if all our old homes are like.... this."

She nodded "Sorry." She added before making sure she was back in her original pose.

Fritz's brows rose. "So you're...senshi of something is that it?" he asked, giving the girl a curious expression. "And they're called, er...'spheres', is that it? What's your, er...'sphere' then, if you don't mind me asking?"

The pencil tapped absently against Fritz's chin as he contemplated that momentarily. It was such an odd sounding thing - although no odder than sitting in space with a bunch of people he didn't know and attempting to keep themselves alive because they were being attacked by giant creatures - but at the same time, he couldn't help but wonder what his "sphere" would be, if he were ever one of those senshi people.

Then he shook his head and went back to his drawing.

"Being an alien is certainly better than being dull, wouldn't you say?" Fritz responded, eyes dancing mischievously. "I should think living on the stars would be quite delightful. It's rather beautiful out here, you know."

A pause.

"Except, you know, minus the whole 'we're stuck here and might possibly die because we have no idea what's going on' thing."

Hug-bell gave a small nod before sitting still again, "Yes, we're all senshi of something. Pretty much, Iunno why though. Mine's comfort, I told you." She giggled slightly, of course it was a lot to take in.

She pondered, "Perhaps it is. But if it's true and all our old homes are like this, it might be pretty but it'd get lonely being all alone."

She looked at him, "Yeah even the adults are puzzled." Granted she called all the older senshi adults, "We'll find a way to get you back though!"
