The Dragoons are entrusted with defending the castle and are led by Kain. Baron also trains a squadron of Black and White Mages, and the White Mages are led by Rosa. Baigan is the Captain of the Guard. The Devil's Road leads from Baron to Mysidia, and the Ancient Waterway connects the city to the castle. The town of Baron also is one of the four towns in the world with a Training Room.
Baron was once ruled by a benevolent king, who took Cecil and Kain under his wing and raised them as his children. Cecil was trained as a Dark Knight, while Kain decided to become a Dragoon in the mold of his father. Cecil was eventually made captain of the Red Wings. However, the king was eventually killed by Cagnazzo, one of the Archfiends, who took the throne himself, unbeknownst to the people of Baron. One day, Cecil was asked to retrieve the Crystal of Water in Mysidia. He did so, but questioned why he had to rob from innocent people.
As a result, he was dismissed from his post, and ordered to hunt Eidolons in the Misty Valley, and to deliver a Ring to the village of Mist. Kain was instructed to accompany him. The package contained Bombs which would burn Mist down.This would later become a vital plot point
Kain eventually returned to Baron without Cecil. When he got there, he found out that Cagnazzo (disguised as the king) appointed a man named Golbez to lead the Red Wings, and Kain was brought under his control and made second in command. Rosa was worried about Cecil, and ran off to look for him. Cid had developed a new airship, the Enterprise, but would not allow the king to use it for malevolent purposes. As a result, Cid was arrested. Golbez and Kain led the Red Wings into wars with Damcyan and Fabul for the Crystals of Fire and Air, respectively. They succeeded both times.
Cecil, after becoming a Paladin, eventually returned to Baron via Devil's Road with Palom, Porom, and Tellah. When they got there, they learned about what happened since Cecil last left, and Cecil was not allowed into the castle. They found Yang at the town's inn who had also been brainwashed by Golbez. He and his guards attacked Cecil's party, but Yang was eventually brought to his senses. He also found the Key of Baron in his pocket, which the party then used to open the Old Water Way and head to the castle in order to rescue Cid. There, they met Baigan, who was apparently not under Golbez's control.
However, Palom and Porom discovered that he was deceiving them, and Cecil's party had to defeat him. They then found Cagnazzo and defeated him as well, rescuing Cid. However, Cagnazzo attempted to pull one last trick up the party's sleeve. He made the walls in the antechamber of the throne room cave in, thus forcing Palom and Porom to petrify themselves to save the party. Cid then took the party to where he hid the Enterprise, and launched it.
After rescuing Rosa and defeating Barbariccia, she warped the party to Cecil's room in Baron where Kain (now back to his senses) told the party that they needed to obtain the Dark Crystals from the Underworld. Kain showed them the Magma Stone, which could be used to find the entrance to the Underworld. Cid brought the Enterprise back to Baron via remote control.
After escaping from the Underworld, Cecil flew back to Baron, where Cid's workers installed a hook on the Enterprise so the party could carry the Hovercraft to new locations such as the Eblan Cave and the Adamant Isle Grotto. After visiting the Feymarch, the party can return to Baron and go to the basement to see the ghost of the real king of Baron. He was actually the legendary knight Odin, and he challenged the party to a battle, after which he offered his power to Rydia so she could summon him.
At the end of the game, Cecil and Rosa are married and take the throne of Baron as the new King and Queen. All the living characters in the game except Kain attend, as Kain is off training on Mount Ordeals.

       Rosa was off once again, with Porom and Rydia on there almost daily search for any others they might know. Or even just someone who seemed they might be lost or in trouble out in the middle of no where. Rydia of course, left a note for Edge since she didn't know where he was again. Though Rosa was trying to make this a slightly more fun trip, she even brought Ceodore since there was no one else to look after him. Her reason for wanting to make it fun was her younger friend, Porom seemed to be down about something but just wouldn't say! As they were flying, something started to come in the distance, just over a mountain they could see something sticking up high above the mountains. "...What is that? We must not have been here, I don't remember seeing......" Her words were cut off as they flew right over one very familiar and massive castle! "...Baron!!!" Rosa gasped in surprise, as did the other girls. This was most unexpected! "Oh my..It looks exactly the same....Thank goodness for that..!" She had been worried about the castle, and the others, the knights, everyone that lived in it!

~*~ Rosa Harvey~*~
 The Enterprise soon landed at a safe area near the castle, just as the ramp began to lower. A rather excited Rosa hurried down the ramp with Ceodore in her arms, Rydia also following behind her, the women of forest green smiled softly at her friends excitement upon seeing the castle again. She must have been thrilled!
Porom followed last, slowly trailing behind the two in silence. She was shocked upon seeing it, but her mind quickly went right back to that day with Aslan.She felt like the worst person in the world right now and wanted nothing more then to crawl into a cave and die or something! Even the sweet young girl Porom could have her down days, but this had been going on for quite some time now. ".....Just...left him.....you're so horrible...I don't even deserve to be here...how can I? " She thought to herself, and why bring Queen Rosa and Rydia down with her as she was in such a mood? ".......Rosa..If you will exuse me, I have somewhere I need to go. I'm sorry, Please forgive me. " And then, with that she suddenly began to cast her own teleport spell, taking herself away from the Castle before Rosa or Rydia could say anything!

Yumi had earlier left the garden, and set out on a small journey to keep herself, well, busy! She had some of her mother in her, the part that couldn't sit still and quickly got bored! Upon her walking the plains, she had spotted a familiar dragon in the sky, which seemed to be keeping close to Midgar. It's best friend, or rather family, was still there so it was no doubt why it was keeping close to the area! Yumi waved up at the dragon, despite how much it seemed to hate her for a reason she couldn't even figure out, she was glad to see it! "Nairem! Helloooooooooo!!!" She continued waving to it, until it swooped down so fast she barely even got a reaction time! It had scooped her right up so that she was now on it's back, before it started to take off again. "HEY!! Warn me next time!! Meanie! I was saying hello and you try to scare me like that! Oh! Sooo mean! No treats for you!" Holding onto it just around it's neck, she had to wonder, where were they going now? It seemed Nairem was being evily playful, though that was better then it trying to eat her, right? "Well.! It's nice to see you again...Where we going? Have you seen Drake? Maybe we can go to see him! "
The dragon of course, couldn't exactly answer her. It just kept flying, into the direction of Baron Castle! It seemed to sense this was where it's 'master' was heading and they hadn't even fully taken off yet! It took less then ten minutes for them to arrive there at the beautiful castle of Baron, before the dragon would land just outside it, then, much like before, flicked her off it's back with a simple movement! After Yumi had fallen off, it stretched out it's wings, flapping them and sticking it's head high in the air as if proud! Such a mean little dragon he was! "Grrrr...I'm so telling on you, you know that right? Why are we heeeereeee? " She asked it again, then sighed at how silly she was being, asking a dragon and expecting answers! "I guess it's for a reason, so i'll go and look around oh-great-dragon-of-meanness!" With a little wave, she started to head on into the town surrounding the castle. It seemed fairly livly, many people were there, as they got transported with the Kingdom! None of them seemed to mind the new change ether.
"Hi..hello! Um....Where am I? " Yumi asked a older women as she went along.
"Where are you? My dear! You are in the great Kingdom of Baron. " The older women said with a kind smile,
Yumi blinked, scratching her head a bit. "Baron? ....Oh!! Wow!! This is King Cecil and Queen Rosa's Kingdom isn't it? How exciting...I didn't know it was on this world.. May I explore this town and maybe...maybe go inside the castle? " She thought it best to ask, not wanting to get speared to death if she entered the castle and wasn't allowed to!
The women laughed softly, nodding. "Yes, you may go where ever you wish. The Queen has found her way here, too. Though she isn't at the castle right now, She had said she would return to surprise King Cecil."
"Hee,hee...Okay, thank you Ma'am!" She bowed to her kindly, smiling before departing to go look around in much excitement!

Inodoro sighed as he walked through Baron Castle. This was starting to become a repetitive search for him. Everywhere he looked, it was either extremely quiet or full of somewhat occupied people. He could never seem to find anyone worth talking to that actually would give him the time of day. He pulled his left arm from his robes and looked at the black cross with the red jewel in its center. He could only wonder if his grandmother were still watching him even now, sitting in that little rocking chair, dreaming of his day.

Miyuki Ando "KOMARU!!!" The voice of a very pissed-off assassin sounded as Miyuki dropped down in front of Inodoro. It seemed she thought he was her target. "Yer comin' with me!" she grinned evilly as she took up her scythe. He wasn't gonna get away this time! You'll Pay For What You've Done To My Sister!

Inodoro looked at the strange girl that had called him Komaru. She was lucky that he'd reacted the way he had and looked before he leaped. However, he did want to have fun with this girl, for the scythe in her hands looked very promising. He bowed to the girl and then pointed at the thread in his hand and then down at the ground, where it seemed to be inserted into. Then, he pulled it gently and a collection of daggers came out of the ground, strings tied behind them. This would very much prove her abilities. He only hoped he didn't ruin the castle wall that they were next to.

Miyuki Ando "BWAH?!" she yelled out as she jumped back. She used her scythe to knock away all those daggers, only missing a few. When she was finished, she took out the short Spellblade sheathed to her waist, pointing it at Inodoro. "...You're not Clyde. Clyde doesn't normally use knives." she realized out loud. Inodoro drew back the knives by their threads. " Hmph, seems you've got quite the talent for fighting, scythe-girl" Inodoro said. " Wait, What?" he asked. He knew for certain he hadn't gone by the name of Clyde before. " I think you might be a little confused, miss?" Inodoro said before pulling back in all of his knives and wrapped his robes around him.

Inodoro folded his arms and looked at the girl. " Sorry, miss, but this is Baron Castle" he said, watching the girl panic. She seemed to be quite a bit confused about this. Inodoro only hoped she'd get a grip on her situation before she overreacted anymore.

Miyuki Ando Her immediate response was a punch to the ground strong enough to make a small crater, followed by another, and another, and more to come, all with a loud, drawn out "DAAAAAMMMMMMIIIIIITTT!!!" You'll Pay For What You've Done To My Sister!

Inodoro jumped back and too a deep breath before exhaling. It seemed that this girl had very little tolerance for her own sense of direction. He could only hang from the wall by a thread connected to one of the daggers he had just thrown into it, watching the girl continue to place craters into the ground. " You know this isn't helping your situation all that much." he said.

Miyuki Ando After making a big enough crater in the ground, she stopped, sighing. She seemed calm. "Man... What the hell? First I get myself lost, and then I meet you and think you're the guy I'm trying to drag back home! What am I, stupid?" she complained with a facepalm. She then looked back to Inodoro. "...Sorry, guy. I just...I'm really lost. Can I make it up to ya?" Sure, Miyuki wasn't one to immediately be nice, but she felt like she needed to apologize in more than just words. Maybe helping him or something.. You'll Pay For What You've Done To My Sister!
