There was only so much that you could when you were trapped like a prisoner and couldn't read the only literal stimulation that was available, and eventually there was only so much your body could do before eventually you had to rest. However, Cameron wasn't a very late sleeper so eventually he was awake again, not only feeling trapped but also very unstimulated by the lack of choices he had to keep himself busy. Sure, he could look at the stars but it only seemed to remind him just how trapped he was.

Cameron looked beside him, looking at Veer who was laying nearby. Mental stimulation spotted!

"Hey," he said. He was awake right?

Veer didn't go to bed early, and he didn't get up early. Back home, he stayed up until all hours of the night on the internet or working on some-project-or-another. Here he'd been hanging out at Gemini Outpost as often as he could, and it got fun there, nighttime.

So no. He most definitely was not awake. Cameron's quiet 'hey' got nothing more than a twitch, Veer not even rolling over to look at him. There was a tightening of his arm, his face pressed more firmly into the pillow, and a breath of a sigh slipping out between his lips.

Cameron didn't seem to care that Veer was more of a night person and probably didn't get all that much sleep the night before nor did he care that Veer was currently still sleeping, or at least trying to. The ever so subtle movements and sigh that Veer had given Cameron had not gone unnoticed but they had been brushed aside for his own wants and desires.

It was perfectly reasonable to be up at this hour, whatever this hour was, or at least Cameron reasoned it as that.

"Why do you think we're here?" He questioned. He certainly didn't do anything to get involved with terrorists, but that seemed to be the whole point of terrorism.

This time, at least, Veer was awake -- and for a moment, he stayed very still. Too still. Still enough that it was probably obvious he had come out of his slumber fully and that he was now trying to fake sleep.

It was not a successful endeavor, and was made all the worse by the way he shifted, slow and careful. A slight twist of his arm moved it out of the way, a little fidget turned his head just enough to be facing the other man, and then he just barely cracked one eye.

Okay, yes, Cameron was talking to him. As far as Veer was concerned, that was entirely unnecessary. For one moment, he thought about trying to go back to sleep, but instead he decided to drive the guy off, instead.

"...spite." It was rough, quiet, grumpy, and dismissive. All in one syllable.

Cameron had decided that Veer was certainly no ninja and probably would never have an occupation as one. He'd probably never have an occupation as most things in the world but was generally what Cameron assumed about everyone. However, now that it seemed that Veer was rather awake and it only seemed to fuel Cameron's desire for communication and theory discussion.

"That doesn't make any sense though, what have we done? I guess that really argues terrorism at the core though."

He couldn't really speak for this man, assuming he'd probably done something stupid enough to get the senshi terrorists to want to spite him before but he was always busy with school and he certainly wasn't jumping into their business.

"...one of the most heinous crimes on the god-forsaken planet." IT was still gruff, his eyes closing again and fingers shifting to gather the blankets, tug them toward his chin. If they'd been just a bit longer, he could have hauled them up over his head -- but alas, it was not meant to be. Not when he was effectively a refugee, curled up in some senshi's abandoned ex-home. No.

Veer licked his lips, pausing to let Cameron think about that, to wonder what it was -- just long enough to think, not to cut in with more goddamned questions -- before he continued. "Waking a hungover, tired man."

Cameron had thought about what could possibly be the most heinous of crimes on the planet that would make enemies with a terrorist group. He had considered many possible things such as pollution, destruction, and among other things: scientific advancement. It seemed entirely possible. These senshi seemed to have so many scientific instruments but the place looked ancient. How far behind had they been in comparison?

Veer's answer was none of those though and certainly seemed like a fool's answer. Regardless of it, Cameron couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"I believe that fault belongs solely to the man who decided to spend all night drinking and then not being up at a decent hour."

The laughter hurt, and that wasn't just a metaphorical thing. It didn't bruise his ego, but rattled the scrambled eggs of his brain. Veer groaned in reply, ducking farther down as he squinted around the room, trying to determine if there was anyone nearby to end his torment. Someone with something shiny, and distracting, something he could toss to --

Actually, not a bad idea. He wriggled, poked around in his pockets, and managed to come up with thirty three cents. He held it up so that it hit the light.

Not enough to bribe away the young man, so he tossed it, instead, the way you would for a particularly dumb dog. A shiny object that would draw Cameron's attention away. He looked hopeful that it might actually work.

That trick might have worked on dogs and children, or even most of the human population which Cameron deemed as idiots, but it didn't work on him. He gave a bit of a strange look toward Veer and then as if the conversation hadn't stopped and had been replied to all along he continued away, using Veer for probably his only use in life as deemed by Cameron: something similiar to a secretary or sidekick. They didn't say much, didn't do much and they were basically someone who sat there and made Cameron look better in comparison.

The money Veer had thrown seemed to spark and idea into Cameron's head though. Perhaps the they were in some way valuable to the 'Zodiac Senshi' and that's why they were here. If Cameron put it through a series of tests, logic seemed to be on his side. He certainly couldn't think of anything they would have done to really get it in with the terrorists so perhaps it was not something they had done but something they had to offer them.

"Do you think we have something they want?"

To be honest, Cameron couldn't really think of anything Veer had to offer, but it seemed likely that he, himself, might have some intellect to offer them. Well, Veer wasn't totally useless. He may be a bit of an idiot as far as Cameron was concerned but he did have his uses, although they mostly involved laying on the bed and being mostly quiet. Small sentences, yes, no, murmurs, they all seemed to work perfectly.

He watched the money roll away across the floor, eyes narrowed to slits and shoulders slumped, quietly mourning the rest of his sleep. Never to be; instead of trying to bundle back up into his makeshift bed, Veer finally straightened, fumbling up to stand, double wrapped up in blankets and with the pillow curled against his side. Maybe he could go find another room. One with a door. And a lock.

He took a couple shuffling steps away toward the door, not quite succeeding in ignoring Cameron completely. If he had, maybe the guy would have gone away. "...besides the slave labor they're getting, you mean?"

It wasn't a terrible point. People sorting books for them, picking up stones, dusting and organizing; people clearing paths and tidying up; people working while they were awake because they had nothing else to do, so why not? The senshi put them to work immediately, when they arrived. Teleporting worked on them, just not on their new civilians. How convenient.

"No. I don't think they think about much besides themselves."

The lazy man certainly a point, Cameron decided. Maybe they hadn't taken them here for any reason but their own greed. They were certainly getting a lot of free labour out of the fact that conveniently for them.none of civilians could go back to Earth. It was no surprise to Cameron that foolishly like puppies, most of the prisoners seemed to be doing their best to help out the terrorists in exchange for a treat.

"Slavery huh, that's awfully medieval of them," not to say that Cameron didn't believe they weren't intellectually equivalent to medieval citizens already.

He looked over toward Veer as he went toward the door, and then as he stopped to reply. Those actions brought a grin to the young man's face, and he stood up himself, stretching his legs so they could keep up with his mind. He was a firm believer that exercise kept the brain in tip top shape, just like any other muscle in the human body.

"Quite certainly plausible," he had to agree. Terrorists never did think of anything but themselves.

Veer was going for a new room. He humphed and went for the door, hiking his blankets a bit higher as he did. He shook his head at Cameron, shuffling back into motion, slow steps. He couldn't run, or even walk quickly, while clinging to what currently served as his bed...

"Dude, have you taken a look around? This place is ******** medieval. Their outfits -- a bit modern maybe, but..." He paused a shrug, halfway through the doorway, holding it open with his hip. He looked absolutely ridiculous -- like a Greek comedy, in his toga.

"Not big on modern ideals." And then he was gone. Cameron'd have to follow for more conversation.

The conversation wasn't over despite the fact Veer had seemed to have wandered away from him. Cameron certainly was not against following him, his own selfish desire for any sort of intellectual stimulation feeding the muscles in his legs to follow after Veer as he went into another room. He was silent for awhile and Veer might have thought that he'd finally lost Cameron but that didn't seem to be the case because right before Veer rejoice, a voice chimed in behind him again.

"Only if you don't look past the surface. Old it may be but have you taken a look at it really? Have you seen their toilets?"

Cameron assumed Veer hadn't looked past much else other than his bed but if he had looked the toilet was certainly no outhouse, in fact, it seemed almost as if they were powered beyond their own technology. It was like it was magic... and it was.

His sigh was heavy, exaggerated, carefully audible -- meant to make a point, more than anything else. Veer twisted in space to consider Cameron, rumpled, his hair tumbling down over one eye. He slouched instead of standing upright, blankets still bundled in around him and a hip rested against the doorframe for support. Obviously, he was too tired to even stand up straight.

"Yeah, I've taken a piss, could I have gone this long without? And I've been to the crazy lab thing. All kinds of weird stuff, but you know what they didn't have?" He leaned in, slowly, eyebrows raising. "The internet. And as far as I'm concerned, that makes them lower life forms."

"Hey, I don't judge," he said, lying straight through his teeth. "Maybe you don't like to piss in toilets."

Cameron on the other hand did, and needed to. Enough that he was willing to up and leave this perfectly good conversation to go do just that. It wasn't like Veer could go anywhere, and there were very few places he'd be able to hide. There was no doubt that the two could continue this conversation tomorrow morning, and the morning after that, and so forth.

"Speaking of, I will go do just that," he excused himself from the conversation much like he had imposed himself onto it before exiting through the very doorway that Veer had been resting against, and then disappeared down the hallway toward the bathroom.
