An elegant purple doe stood at the base of a tree, staring hungrily upward into its branches. Something up there--a small bird or a squirrel--rustled the branches carelessly, unaware of the rapt attention of the doe below. Aaaah, she thought, it would make a good meal if I could reach it. She could certainly climb the tree; there were enough low-hanging branches to reach the animal, but that would be rather undignified, wouldn't it? She certainly could not perform such effort. What if someone saw her? But her continued focus on the meal out of reach betrayed her hunger.

Whistles Twice was walking through the swamp -- wandering aimlessly, really, to no purpose or intent. He liked to wander this way -- it cleared his head and let his mind drift, and often he would find himself slipping into the familiar whistling tune of his naming dream. Amidst this absentmindedness, a glow of color caught his eye -- gold, shining through the mangrove trees. Always attracted to such glowing -- almost instinctively, for one of his first memories was of the glowing eyes of his mother -- Whistle headed towards the light.

Shadelight glanced up sharply at the sound of a Kimeti approaching, tail twitching momentarily while she assessed the buck before her. Yes...he'll do...probably. He did seem to have his head in the clouds.
"Hello," Shadelight purred, rising gracefully and slinking in the buck's direction. "I have a bit of a problem. Could you help me?"

Whistle couldn't help his eyes widening a little as the doe walked towards him. Motherfather but she was gorgeous. Gathering his wits back about him, the buck shook his head a little and flashed his kind smile at the doe.
"A problem? Of course, I'd be glad to help. My name is Whistles Twice."

Shadelight smiled back, and indicated the quivering branches of the tree behind her. "There seems to be some creature up there, and I've find myself a bit hungry at the moment. Can you get it down for me?"

A little taken aback, Whistles Twice glanced up at the tree and then back to the doe. She was charming, but... "I...I'm not much of a hunter," he admitted, embarrassed. He looked aside, fumbling. "I saw some fish not far from here," he offered, hoping he didn't sound too desperate. "I'm a fair bit better at fishing than hunting."

"Hmm, but..." Shadelight pouted prettily at him, but acquiesced to her empty stomach. "I suppose that will do, though I really wanted something...meatier."
