Sorry, I'm threadwhoring today.
xp
What effects do you own or use in your songs? Are there any that you'd like, or any that you'd like to experiment with.
I'm a little in awe of Daft Punks 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger." where they combine guitar and vocals for a crazy solo.
No idea what pedal that is though, or even if it is a pedal, or a tabletop thing.
Go!
I still wanna try out the Boss Metal Zone.

I'm just a fan of good old distortion. 3nodding I also admire wah-wah pedals in solos, and effective use of the whammy bar.

I've never been a fan of whammy bars, I always think that I'll break 'em.

xd Yeah, wah can be used badly, and so can whammy bars. It really annoys me when people just use them excessively all the time, it really does lose it's novelty! I think I'm going to break them too, but that's only on fixed bridges. On Floyd Roses and similar bridges, they actually have whammy bars that lock in, and can swing around freely and are much more safer and secure than a fixed bridge. I've actually re-threaded my whammy bar into my Behringer strat, and it's grinding up the metal etc confused So they aren't that guitar-friendly to fixed bridges, or even to themselves when they are the screw-in kind.

I've been looking at whammy replacements for Stoptail guitars. I thought I might try one, at least if I don't like it I can switch back and sell it.
Meh. I don't know for sure yet. I wanna get my equipment sorted first.

Hehe, cool. 3nodding My GAX30, although a fixed bridge, doesn't have a whammy bar. It's like, a fixed fixed bridge.

what effect isnt good? XD
I like using my rp50 to find tones I really like, I use it to generate anything to fuzz- to metal distortion, its pretty nice for the price...the only good thing its missing its a good wah pedal...hmm an effect I like right now its the mixing of chorus with an acoustic simulator get the right setting and itl sound pretty cool

I normally run my Tele or Strat through my Dunlop CryBaby wah-wah, then my Boss BD-2 overdrive, and finally through my Boss RV-5 Digital Delay/Reverb (pretty old - it was a gift from my guitarist uncle). I'm looking into purchasing a couple of the new Behrenger pedals since they are dirt cheap, because I want to experiment with some chorus and acoustic modeling. I'll also be starting a new pedal project - a TS-808 Tube Screamer clone.

I use a Boss GT-6, because I'm lazy like that. xp
The Metal Zone is widely acclaimed for down-and-dirty distortion...

My PodXT Live give all sorts of lovely built in effects. The Synth ones are fun to play with, but I alway return to the simple chorus and a little bit of overdrive.

I wonder what metal on a semi-acoustic sounds like...
