Felix was glad he had chosen the Aquarius Outpost as his main one. True to the typical astrological horoscopes, Aquarius appeared like a reserved Zodiac, someone who preferred to delve in experiments on her own and to expand her knowledge, which was exactly what he preferred to do himself. Once he entered the building, he had immediately made his way toward the towering bookshelves within the reception hall, but became vexed when he realized there was a magical barrier that prevented him from taking the books off shelves, but upon closer inspection Felix realized that the writing was barely visible and not in English.
Filled with disappointment, the young man strode through the hall—past the curtain where a gurgling fountain lay against a series of mosaics, perhaps he would return down here sometime—toward the staircase. His boots quietly thudded against the tile as he entered the balcony. He drew his attention to the simple designs on the floor, following the patterns until his gaze traveled up the arabesques. Felix slowly strolled toward the arabesques and leaned forward, peering down. Everything about his situation was amazing, he mused: to the fact that he was in space—and alive—to the space whale, to the odd zodiac soldiers, to the amazing architecture and buildings.
Footsteps echoed behind him and he turned around to see who it was. Although his expression remained stoic as ever, Felix’s eyes glimmered with wary recognition. He turned around, his arms pressed against the arabesque. His mouth curled into a tiny smile as he greeted Felicia. “Hello. You’re not going to kiss me again, are you?”

A slice of normal was amazingly refreshing, even if normal, in this case, referred to a floating castle in outer space that seemed to be inhabited by a magical warrior of the cosmos. After the whale, Felicia wasn't going to poke at what was and was not normal, at least not for the remainder of this trip. Once they all got him, if they got home(that that was a rather big if, and not something the teen was keen to dwell on.) all bets were off. For now she was going to be grateful for the peace and safety afforded by the Aquarius outpost.
First and foremost she was looking forward to a nap. She was, understandably, exhausted from the events of the last.. day? Week? Good lord, she'd lost track of time. Too long, that was for certain. Still marveling at her surroundings, not to mention the whole being in space thing, Felicia made her way through the grand halls of the outpost and towards what she hoped would be bedrooms, cots, anything. At this point she wasn't going to be picky, the floor was even beginning to look comfortable.
She couldn't help but wonder how the others were fairing. Not Gilbert, he was fine. Healed up good as new and now off being useful or something. She hadn't seen Felix since they'd all been separated though, and she couldn't help but wonder if he was alright.
As if conjured by her thoughts he appeared in front of her as she rounded a bend in the hall, and she blinked, startled, as he turned to greet her with a small smile. A blush immediately flaring along her cheeks as he brought up the kiss she'd pretty much forced on him back when they'd all been attacked. "Oh, oh.." Now, there was one of two ways to handle this sort of situation. You could either let the awkwardness stretch on indefinitely, or you could try to take command and make light of the situation. Felicia Whitmoore was going to choose the later.
Smirking, she dropped a hand to rest on her hip. "Only if you want me to."

Perhaps Felix shouldn’t have brought that topic up again. The mere memory of her soft lips pressed against his made the lad bring up a hand to cover his mouth again, almost as if he could still feel the startling sensation of a kiss. It pained him to admit it, but the memory was embarrassing. So, why mention it a second time? There were a few reasons, he theorized. By now, Felix realized that her violet color had affected her personality, just like how the green had affected Callum and the yellow for Layton (it seemed fortunate that orange had no effect on his behavior). Had that kiss been completely against her volition or had she actually wanted that kiss, if only just a bit? Her cheeks quicly flushed red and he was suddenly glad that it wasn’t just him who was embarrassed by it. Actually, the more he thought of her and the kiss, the more he realized that he still didn’t know her name. Blasphemy.
“We’ve been through space whales and hallucinations together, but I still don’t know your name, though you know mine.” It wasn’t entirely her fault. She had been temporarily deaf and the frantic chaos of battling a giant whale made it difficult to properly introduce themselves to each other.
He cast his gaze to the side at her retort. “No, it’s fine.” Felix turned around, his hands grasping the edge of the arabesque and his boots absentmindedly tapping against the elegant designs. “I’m glad you’re okay…are you staying here at the Aquarius outpost?” Truthfully, he was quite keen on examining the other buildings and whatever else lay here in the Surrounding, but he would always return here—the books and scientific implements soothed him, even if he couldn’t read or use them.

No, the kiss had not been something Felicia would have done under normal circumstances. Sure he'd saved her life, but he was also damn near a stranger. A stranger in arms, but still. She watched as his hand rose to press against his mouth, the corners of her lips twitching in something close to a smile. Amusement perhaps in how something so seemingly small, after everything they'd been through, was still making him react. He was a handsome young man, she'd certainly give him that. Perhaps some small part of her hadn't been opposed to the idea. It wasn't what she'd have normally done, but she couldn't really say she regretted.
The hand she'd settled on the curve of her hip rose to join it's counter as she crossed her arms below her chest, head tilting gently as she realized he was right. In all that had happened she'd never once gotten the chance to tell him her name. "Felicia."
Movement drew her gaze down to his foot as it kicked the against the intricate carvings at the base of the arabesque he was still lingering near, and she finally moved to join him. Stopping just short of his side so he could follow his gaze, where ever it had wandered off to. "I think so. This place holds the most appeal for me." A smile curled along full lips and her arms tightened around her own torso. "I'm glad you're alright, too." There was a pause as she wondered if she should add the rest of what she was going to say, and finally just let it out. "I was worried."
Bonds were quick to form during extraordinary circumstances.

Felix couldn’t help it, really. Kissing wasn’t a complete foreign concept, but it was barely explored territory, that was for sure (though it one was of the few things he wasn’t too keen on fully delving into yet.) Realizing that his covered mouth was a dead giveaway, he forced himself to slide it back down as casually as possible. Quirks and habits were difficult to shake off, this one included. Whenever he was flustered or embarrassed, even just a bit more emotional than he usually was, Felix had a tendency to cover his mouth with his hand. His mother had a similar tendency, he realized a while ago, but was more for when she was confused or curious.
“Felicia—sounds like a nice name.” For once, a compliment actually left his lips. It wasn’t merely the fact that it sounded similar to his own name. No, he wasn’t that egotistic. The syllables flowed together and overall, appealed to his ears. She strode forward to also lean over the arabesque, but left enough space for him to comfortably continue gazing around the atrium. He almost cracked a smile at the observation. “Same. I enjoy the presence of the books and tools here, although I can’t use them myself.” Preferably, Felix would have liked to have strolled over and fiddled with the implements, but he was confident to say that the Zodiac would be sincerely displeased if she found her tools tampered with.
I was worried. He really couldn’t prevent himself from smiling. It wasn’t the occasional small, soft smile either, it was an actual one that stretched his mouth. “It’s thoughtful of you to care about my safety.” Then Felix left it at that, deeming it unnecessary to continue the conversation further. Rather, he observed Felicia through the corner of his eye. Worried, about him? They had only met recently, only knew each other’s name. There was nothing to warrant her care…correct?

The compliment towards her name had her smiling. Though it wasn't as though it was directed at her, only the name. Still, better then nothing. Not that it mattered.. Did it matter? A thoughtful little frown moved to take over pursing lips as she considered it, one pale finger tapping against her elbow. If she were honest with herself then yes, it did matter. She wasn't entirely sure why, the kiss might have had something to do with it, or the life saving. Either way, there was something there. She hesitated to use the term 'crush', but it was something very similar in nature. Damnit.
"I don't recognize half the tools, but the books are comforting." Even if they were languages Felicia had never seen before. She wasn't positive, but she didn't think the strange writing along the bindings was even of earth. And that was a startlingly normal thought. Her views on normalcy had expanded greatly over the course of the last few days, or hours, however long it'd been. Lee's sense of time was effectively shot without the usual progression of the sun above her. "This place, this whole experience, is very surreal," she added at last, almost to herself.
Head tilting to one side, she glanced back up at the young man beside her. His contagious smile calling one of her own to answer it. "Ya, well you did save my life out there. You didn't have to, but you did." Her shoulders rose in a small shrug. "It's a crazy situation we're in. Chaotic and hectic, and through out everything only a few faces have stood out to me. I remember you, and I'll keep remembering you, because you've made sort of a big impact." Her gaze had dropped to her toes somewhere in all her talking, but the smile remained. "And it wasn't a bad kiss."

Felix could count the number of crushes he had had on one hand. Unsurprisingly, the firs had been in elementary—a girl named Holly who sat next to him in class. They had barely spoken to each other, but occasionally he would glance over at her quizzes and tests—child’s curiosity, after all—and silently admire her flawless grades and work. Sometimes he would watch her during recess for just a few moments, before being dragged away by his friends. That was how his first crush went until the feelings ebbed away. The last crush had been more productive. He had actually managed to date his senior, a smart, strong woman, for a few months before their personalities clashed and crumbled the relationship. After that fireball of a disaster, Felix concluded that he could put off romance for a few more years, if not more.
“I read up on a lot of scientific books and such, so I sort of know my way around these tools.” He pursed his lips, thoughtfully mulling over Felicia’s words. “Yes, the books’ presences are comforting. It makes me feel like I’m at work.” Felix stopped there, but quickly realized that the last part most likely made little sense to her. “I work at a bookstore—just part-time, because I’m in college full-time.”
“I couldn’t agree more. If someone had told me I would be sent to space and attacked by a whale, I would’ve laughed.” He kept smiling, but eventually it began to fade as he considered her reasoning. It was true. Technically, Felix didn’t need to have saved her back then, and normally he wouldn’t have, but they were in space and one of the few ‘familiar’ faces in the swarming crowd. “Oh, I see.” He wasn’t sure how to respond to her bold declaration. His arms partially hung over the arabesque as he twined his fingers together and forced himself to keep staring forward. “You’ve definitely made a solid impression on me, too.”
He could feel the heat rushing to his face and one, and he could sense one of his hands reaching up to mask his mouth again as he stood there in silent embarrassment. “….oh.” Felix didn’t bother to speak further. He would have made a fool of himself.

The younger girl offered a nod as he explained his own somewhat more familiar knowledge of the varying tools that lay within the outpost, coming to the easy conclusion the Felix was something of an intellectual. An assumption that was further proven by the admission of his job. "A book store, really?" Having her own little love affair with reading, this was actually quite interesting to Lee. "On campus, or off?" Perhaps she'd been there, before most of her physical books had been exchanged for digital copies of themselves. She much preferred the ease and portability of her e-reader, but every now and then she'd still pull a book from her shelf and curl up with it in the bay window of her room.
"Had someone mentioned to me what all I'd be doing this week, I'd have had to wonder if perhaps they weren't on some heavy drugs." She chuckled, shrugging again and looking up at him with a smile. Blushing faintly as he nearly echoed her words to him about making an impression. Mind wandering back to the kiss she'd forced upon him back on the rainbow road. "I can see how I might have," she agreed softly.
Seeing a similar blush raising in his cheeks made her feel a little better about the whole situation. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable, but it was nice knowing the kiss meant something and wasn't just.. nothing. It seemed like that would have made everything worst.
clearing her throat gently, Felicia reached out to catch his wrist before he could press his hand to his mouth again. Tugging his arm back down to his side. "I'd play poker with you any day with a tell like that." It wasn't meant to be insulting.

“Yes, really.” Another smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Why could he easily smile now? Usually, Felix had his usual stoic expression, but now he was flustered and revealing his unique ticks. “Off campus. Off campus bookstores have more variety to read from—convenient for when the day is slow.” Unlike Felicia, he still stubbornly refused to make the switch from paper to digital. While digital books definitely had its advantages and benefits, Felix enjoyed the feel of manually flipping the page, sometimes rough and sometimes thin and smooth.
“I might’ve even asked them if they had been experiencing unusual symptoms. It’s just so preposterous.” Yet, here he was. He found himself stumbling over his worlds. “You did—but it wasn’t just tha—well actually it mainly was—uh—“ Felix tightly sealed his lips.
Blinking, Felix blankly stared as Felicia grabbed his hand as it began to move to his mouth again. By the time she had pulled his arm back down, he had already begun to regain his senses. “Did I ever say why I did this tick? I would retract that statement if I were you. My friends say I have a staid poker face.” He would have loved to brandish a deck of cards and engage in a brief round of poker to prove his point—or perhaps his friends just sucked too much at poker—but all he had was the clothes on his back and a mechanical pencil in his pocket from when he was studying before everything happened.

Her fingers slipped from his wrist when his hand had returned to his side and she resumed folding her arms around her torso, leaning to rest her hip against the arabesque beside them. "You failed to mention it, but I won't be retracting anything just yet." The barest flicker of a smirk crossed her lips as she look up at him, a bit of challenge in her eyes. "How often do your friends make you go all blushy?" She was going to assume not, but you never know. She had to figure she had at least a slight edge over those he would normally play against.
She dropped her gaze, the top of her sandal bumping the ground absently. "You'll have to tell me which book store you work at. If-" She stopped, frowned, then started over. "When we get home, I'll have to come and visit some time." When, not if. Had to believe there was a way out, that they'd all be returning to the lives after this was all over. Had to.
It was probably best not to carry on with that particular train of thought. Chewing thoughtfully along the inside of her cheek, Lee glanced up to look further down the halls to the various rooms. "Were you on your way to claim a bed, too?" Was it odd that she was glad she caught him before he'd had a chance to? That she thought it'd be nice if they could maybe find somewhere where they could stay close. Now that they'd found each other again Felicia was going to try to keep from being separated again.

“There wasn’t a need to mention it until now.” He quirked an eyebrow at Felicia’s smirk, but he remained quiet. At first Felix did not respond to her inquiry, instead he tore his gaze away from her. Fingers loosely intertwined as he examined the geometric designs embedded in the floor and integrated into the architecture. “Once in a blue moon, to be honest,” he reluctantly admitted after another moment of silence.
He also frowned. The possibility had crossed his thoughts more than once: what if they never returned home? What if everyone stranded here in the Surrounding remained stranded? Even worse, what if those monsters overtook the entire place and kill—it wasn’t efficient to dwell on those kinds of ideas unless he wanted to drown himself in pessimism, which would do Felix no good. “That’d be nice.” It was a rather low-key bookstore, one that people typically missed or chose to walk by. Yet, somehow it still managed to stay afloat financially. “We don’t get very many customers, so another visitor would be welcomed.”
A bed. That was right. He had forgotten. “No, not yet. Exploring this outpost preoccupied quite a bit of my time.” Felix idly bumped his boots against the arabesque twice before easing away from it. “Perhaps we should claim beds next to each other? Sleeping next to someone I’m somewhat familiar with would be comforting, to say the least.” While one hand slid into his pockets, he offered the other to Felicia for her to grab as they—assumedly—made their way to the bedrooms.”

The smirk only seemed to grow at his admission, a soft chuckle bubbling up in her throat but never quite making it past her lips. "Well now I'm curious." What exactly were his friends doing that had him all rosy cheeked and flustered? The possibilities were endless, really. There was a certain comforting satisfaction at the light teasing she was putting him through, even if he was a relative stranger. It seemed normal, and normality was hard to come by lately.
"It'll be my first stop once we're all home." Assuming they all made it home. Oh God, please let them all make it home? Her smile never slipped despite the silent prayer, but it wasn't exceptionally bright either. So much about what was going on was unknown and mysterious, and for someone so very used to knowing what was going on, it was almost torturous. She hated ignorance, more then almost anything else. Perhaps that was part of Felix's appeal for her. He was well spoken and obviously smart. He might not have known anything more about their situation then her, but he was a kindred spirit at the very least.
She gave a small tilt of her head when he voiced her previous thoughts almost exactly, smiling as she took his offered hand and fell in step beside him. "You've read my mind," she admitted after a moment. "I'm glad we ran into each other again. I only really know one other person here, and only because I had to help him walk to the outpost, he was so hurt." Full lips pressed into a thin line at the memory. Everyone had looked so battered. "It'll be nice sleeping with someone I know has my back." With? Freudian slip perhaps?

“Just the usual antics of some goofballs. Sometimes they got a bit too far with their jokes, though.” His eyebrows dug ridges in his forehead as he recalled past pranks and embarrassing incidents caused by his well-meaning companions, stupid and aggravating as they sometimes were. It often caused Felix to wonder why he had befriend such people, but there was the notorious axiom “opposites attract. It was true in romance, but also true in friendship, much to his dismay.
Another tiny smile pulled at his lips. “I look forward to it.” Shifts had always been filled with idle lazing. Sometimes he would stand by the register, a borrowed book in one hand as he calmly read while a small number of visitors perused the store. Other times Felix would manage to busy himself with shelving and organizing the books, but work was mostly idle lazing. Always idle lazing. “It’s a few streets away from my college—DC University. It’s pretty small, so you might’ve missed it.” As long as he could explore and ask questions that would be answered, Felix could live with ignorance. He refused to believe in the phrase “Ignorance is blissful”—loathed it, even. When it came to personal matters, the truth was always better. It was why Felix didn’t like to sugarcoat the truth.
He gripped her hand firmly, almost as if the building would tear apart, which wasn’t too paranoid, considering their shared experience of bumbling on a rainbow road while attempting to combat a space whale. “Unfortunately, I’ve never considered myself to be a psychic.” He didn’t believe in such supernatural theories, though perhaps he should change that after recent adventures. “Yes, it seems multiple people were seriously injured from the battle.” He headed toward the bedrooms. “Same here. It’s nice to be able to converse with a somewhat familiar face.” Curiously, Felix’s gaze flickered at Felicia. With? What an odd choice of diction, but he chose to ignore it for now.

Dainty fingers gave a fond press to Felix's much larger ones as they made their way to the bedrooms(Now didn't that just sound dirty?), A peaceful smile resting on the younger girls lips. This was nice, talking about such normal things, it helped calm the frazzled nerves that had been plaguing Felicia since their unexpected arrival in this place. An escape from the chaos and mystery that surrounded them, if only temporary. Regardless, she was very thankful for it, and for having actually found a small handful of people she could sort of count on in this place.
"Your friends sound fun," she admitted softly, thinking back to her own little group of companions. She was, admittedly, a bit of a snob when it came to befriending people, so it was never easy for Felicia to find people she could truly call friend. Call her picky, but she didn't want to waste time on ignorant, annoying people. Bitchy, but true.
She was actually looking forward to coming and visiting him at the book store in the future. And the thought brought a helpless little smile to her face as they walked.
It grew into more a grin as he spoke, pale brows arching as she glanced up at him. "I guess we're just like minded then." Was she flirting? Maybe just a little.
It hadn't been a good idea to bring up the battle, because mention of all the injuries she'd witnessed, hell, had herself, leeched the smile from her face. Sighing, she Leaned a little closer to the young man, shoulder touching his arm as they walked. Seeking comfort from his closeness. "Yeah." The hand not already intertwined with his fingers rose to curl against his elbow.

Dirty? What sounded dirty? The thought didn’t even register in Felix’s mind. He felt Felicia press her fingers against his, and responded by gripping her hand even tighter, which was an unusual response, now that he thought about it. He furrowed his eyebrows, creating small grooves across his forehead as he pondered it further. As his mind formulated a hypothesis, he blinked and forced his attention on something else.
“Most people would find them entertaining, yes.” Clearly, Felix did not fit into the group “most people.” He provided the voice of reason, or the devil’s advocate in his friends’ eyes. Over the years he had developed the inclination to break apart their plans, twist their ideas in any way imaginable. It was almost like a sadistic pleasure—their dismayed expressions may or may not be a major factor in this. Unlike Felicia, Felix didn’t mind socializing with annoying people. His friends were annoying people. There was a certain charm to their idiocy and blasphemous schemes, he admitted.
He noticed a smile blooming on her face and was tempted to ask about it, but figured it wasn’t important enough to warrant a question. “I suppose we are,” he agreed. Wait, this was considered flirting? “It’s always nice to encounter like-minded people, since the world is filled with lots of differing tastes and opinions.”
For one reason or another, she leaned closer to Felix and he stiffened for a brief second. While he did not mind physical touch like hand-holding and brief hugs, this took him by surprise. “I—Yeah.” Speechless, he kept quiet as the pair headed toward the bedrooms. Once they found the large room, he surveyed the array of beds. “Do you see any two that are free?”
