It really wasn't weird for the lights to be on at Maggie's-- Even if it was owned by Noah because the actually lady named Maggie had high tailed it out of Destiny City sometime after the coma epidemic-- Because the owner was busy puttering around within after closing hours and the staff had gone home. Of course it didn't explicitly say it was closed, another detail Noah had never really managed to deal with, so he did occasionally fire up the grill and whip up a burger or two for stragglers that were brave enough to wander in.
But mostly he was just paranoid he'd be vandalized again, and was always wary to leave at night. So he'd spend most of the night there, doing his paperwork at the bar, snacking on inventory, getting bored and seeing how many things could be wrapped in bacon (Hint: All the things. It's all the things.) and taking overstacked boxes and trash out into the alleyway.
Which is what he was doing now, hauling garbage and empty packaging that had piled up over the course of the day and struggling to get it all around, in, or near the dumpster in the least obtrusive fashion. And all the while he was blissfully unaware he was being watch, stalked by a youma who saw some very opportune prey.

“Hey…Hey! Come back!” It was vain to call out to a youma, but Sinon couldn’t stop herself from indignantly shouting at the reptilian creature as it sinuously sped through the streets. By this point, she had already hoped off her skateboard and opted to chase after the youma with her own two feet—skateboarding was meant for leisurely patrolling, since she could easily outrun most things, perhaps even cars if she was curious enough to race a car at night. Her strides were long and steady, no longer clumsy due to years of participating in cross country and track. However, toting around her board made it difficult to sprint at her maximum speed, which even with her senshi powers, failed to keep up with the monstrous snake.
“Come backkkk!” she repeated, the last note lilting as she became despondent. To her dismay, the snack opted to take a sudden nosedive into a building—a diner judging by the sigh up above. Glass shattered everywhere, shards of all sizes crumbling to the ground and creating a symphony of tinkling clatters. Sinon wasn’t too worried, though. The shops in this area were all closed, lights off. No one would be inside any of these buildings, but she secretly cringed at the repair costs.

The shock of the crash sent the reptile into a temporary state of stupor. It dumbly lay sprawled across the floor, covered in shards of glass. Occasionally it tensed, its body writhing as it stayed in place and regained its senses. Fortunately for Noah it was still completely clueless to his presence.
Seconds later, Sinon slowed her pace as she neared the diner and smoothly turned. “I’ve caught you at la—Oh no.” Her tone had been relieved, joyful even, but as soon as she saw the undeniable figure of a human, all of the glee drained from her voice. Clearly it wasn’t a Negaverse nor a senshi, not even a knight. It was, without a doubt, a plain ol’ civilian. Immediately, a sudden tone of authority entered her voice as she commanded, “Don’t panic. Don’t say anything. I don’t think it’s seen you yet.” She held up her arms as an additional signal to tell the man to not fret. Cautious, quiet steps headed closer to the snake as time continued to elapse.
If Noah looked closely, he could see the snake’s pink tongue flicker in and out before it lunged for him.
“s**t!” hissed Sinon as she sprang forward, arms wrapping around its elongated body in an attempt to restrain it.
