It really wasn't weird for the lights to be on at Maggie's-- Even if it was owned by Noah because the actually lady named Maggie had high tailed it out of Destiny City sometime after the coma epidemic-- Because the owner was busy puttering around within after closing hours and the staff had gone home. Of course it didn't explicitly say it was closed, another detail Noah had never really managed to deal with, so he did occasionally fire up the grill and whip up a burger or two for stragglers that were brave enough to wander in.

But mostly he was just paranoid he'd be vandalized again, and was always wary to leave at night. So he'd spend most of the night there, doing his paperwork at the bar, snacking on inventory, getting bored and seeing how many things could be wrapped in bacon (Hint: All the things. It's all the things.) and taking overstacked boxes and trash out into the alleyway.

Which is what he was doing now, hauling garbage and empty packaging that had piled up over the course of the day and struggling to get it all around, in, or near the dumpster in the least obtrusive fashion. And all the while he was blissfully unaware he was being watch, stalked by a youma who saw some very opportune prey.

“Hey…Hey! Come back!” It was vain to call out to a youma, but Sinon couldn’t stop herself from indignantly shouting at the reptilian creature as it sinuously sped through the streets. By this point, she had already hoped off her skateboard and opted to chase after the youma with her own two feet—skateboarding was meant for leisurely patrolling, since she could easily outrun most things, perhaps even cars if she was curious enough to race a car at night. Her strides were long and steady, no longer clumsy due to years of participating in cross country and track. However, toting around her board made it difficult to sprint at her maximum speed, which even with her senshi powers, failed to keep up with the monstrous snake.

“Come backkkk!” she repeated, the last note lilting as she became despondent. To her dismay, the snack opted to take a sudden nosedive into a building—a diner judging by the sigh up above. Glass shattered everywhere, shards of all sizes crumbling to the ground and creating a symphony of tinkling clatters. Sinon wasn’t too worried, though. The shops in this area were all closed, lights off. No one would be inside any of these buildings, but she secretly cringed at the repair costs.

Noah was just strolling back inside when suddenly glass and wood shattered and splintered in a huge crash. He ended up ducking and shielding his head from the barrage of sharp objects before the shock could sink in.

But it did, and it wasn't quite shock, but more like rage. All that damage costs money! And the gall of vandalizing his place when he was here was inconceivable. He was angry when he should've been afraid for his life, but he didn't quite realize this. He grabbed for the worn baseball bat under the bar and he jumped to his feet, ready to bash some ******** terrorist heads. Instead he ended up face to face with a snake youma.

Not that he knew to call it a youma. But it was fairly obvious it wasn't a normal snake, aside from the fact it was huge, and had just smashed through his diner window.

He swallowed, trying to repress the sudden surge of fear and gripped the handle of the bat, very slowly trying to back away just as the creature coiled to strike.

The shock of the crash sent the reptile into a temporary state of stupor. It dumbly lay sprawled across the floor, covered in shards of glass. Occasionally it tensed, its body writhing as it stayed in place and regained its senses. Fortunately for Noah it was still completely clueless to his presence.

Seconds later, Sinon slowed her pace as she neared the diner and smoothly turned. “I’ve caught you at la—Oh no.” Her tone had been relieved, joyful even, but as soon as she saw the undeniable figure of a human, all of the glee drained from her voice. Clearly it wasn’t a Negaverse nor a senshi, not even a knight. It was, without a doubt, a plain ol’ civilian. Immediately, a sudden tone of authority entered her voice as she commanded, “Don’t panic. Don’t say anything. I don’t think it’s seen you yet.” She held up her arms as an additional signal to tell the man to not fret. Cautious, quiet steps headed closer to the snake as time continued to elapse.

If Noah looked closely, he could see the snake’s pink tongue flicker in and out before it lunged for him.

“s**t!” hissed Sinon as she sprang forward, arms wrapping around its elongated body in an attempt to restrain it.

Noah was ready to lose his s**t just with the whole scenario before him, what with the monster snake smashing his windows and only having his baseball bat as his disposal.

And then this... teenage girl in a sailor collar and chaps starts busting in here and giving him orders? ******** no. But he didn't really have time to voice his displeasure at the situation of being told what to do by a skinny chick with weird fashion tastes. There was a flash of pink tongue and suddenly the thing was coming at him.

He swung. He swung like the head was a pitch coming at him and he ended up changing it's trajectory just enough for its body to crash into his bar. He wasn't sure which took more damage, but for now he was more concerned about the girl trying to restrain it.

"Jesus, kid, are you okay?"

Hey! Chaps were cool. Sure, at first Sinon had been hesitant about the odd choice of design when she first awakened, but she had grown to appreciate her chaps. Wearing them made her feel like a cowboy, and cowboys were cool—disregarding the fact that they were, you know, eternally bowlegged and often got ran over by cattle while on the job…

Sometimes civilians did a decent job of fending for themselves and other times they didn’t. This guy happened to be in the former category, which pleased the redhead. That made the job slightly easier. Sinon slid off the snake’s scaly back and moved back, preparing herself to cast her attack. “Swell, just swell—this is just the usual, now ya better get back soon.” He only gave him a few seconds to do as she warned before she swiped her arm across her chest. “Web of Lies!” Webs of white string appeared from her fingertips and launched themselves at the snake.

Noah was in the process of backing up when he suddenly saw the white strings and that backing up turned into a frantic stumble, which got him out of the way, but ultimately landed on his butt.

"W-... huh?" He half squeaked out, like he was a teenager again and his voice was cracking.

All of the sudden the snake monster didn't matter. It wasn't even there, as far as his perception went. Instead, all of his consciousness was trying to make sense of this girl with apparent web spinners in her hands.

"...Spidergirl?

Sinon nearly fell over at the comment. Huffing with her cheeks puffed out, she placed both hands on her hips as she stared at the man. “Spidergirl?! Do I look like Spidergirl to ya?” For one thing, Spidergirl wore a one-piece suit that looked a lot like Spiderman’s—not surprising. Plus, she didn’t think Spidergirl was 5’11” like Sinon was. Although she had to admit that the webs probably indicated otherwise.

The loud snaps of string breaking caught her attention, and the soldier of lies knew that her attack was quickly weakening under the snake’s strength. “Hold that thought, would ya?” Sinon didn’t give him a choice as she spun around and tackled the reptilian monster. She managed to wrangle it into a knot, but had gotten herself tangled in the process. “Why I outta—goddammit!”
