After taking a short trip to the make shift infirmary on the first level of Virgo's outpost for a piece of gauze and sticky tape, Roxy found herself continuing to the back of the room and away from the injured and complaining. There were stairs in the back and being the sort of person she was, she followed them up even though each step brought a hiss of pain.

It had taken her longer than she had expected to reach the top, finding sleeping bags laid haphazardly across the walkway. It was devoid of people, however, which was oddly comforting to the social butterfly. And now she was simply leaning against the railing with her hand propping her cheek, listening overhead to the conversations that drifted up to her ears from down below.

Her other hand was rolling the gauze she had taken - the blue bedazzler laying by her feet where she had dropped it as gently as she could - her efforts to dress her own wound futile as her head was just not in task at hand. She really should have gotten Green to do it, but he was occupied as were Red and Blue probably. Roxy honestly didn't know. Even though they had found some solid ground, the blonde still felt oddly lost.

Fritz was, as time found him again and again, exploring.

He rather enjoyed this - not only did it give him something to do and keep him from getting in the way of things, but it also allowed him to roam for himself, discover some truly amazing things.

Like the books at the Aquarius outpost. Fritz had spent the better part of the day yesterday just picking up and examining the loose books that were not bound by the barriers that encircled the hundreds of bookshelves that made their residence within the building. They were not written in a language he understood, but they had intrigued him all the same.

Now, however, he was back at the Virgo outpost, which was where he was making his temporary home. Most days he was down in the main area, helping out when he could, taking care of the injured or trying to soothe the worried, but this particular morning Fritz found himself wandering.

For about an hour he had simply sat outside, letting his legs dip into one of the many beautiful, crystalline pools that adorned Virgo's outside. But now he was making his way back upstairs, his faded and overly worn jean legs rolled up to his knees, damp bare feet making soft thwapping noises on the smooth marble floor.

When he reached their communal sleeping place, however, he found it was not quite as deserted as he thought it would have been. There was a young woman there, something plastic and girlish looking at her feet, and Fritz made his way towards her, stepping over numerous sleeping bags before stooping to pick up the plastic thing, holding it out to her.

"Did you drop this?" he asked her, smiling.

She heard him before she saw him, the slushing of his feet against the ground seemed to deafen the noise of the crowd downstairs and Roxy watched him out of the corner of her yellow eyes as he came each step closer.

Perhaps it was the echo, they were only two in the area after all.

Which was probably silly of her to think that she would have been alone for all that long. There were so many people even if they were spread out between so many places and more costumed heros seemed to be bused in by the minute. Roxy contemplated moving to be out of his way but nixed the idea, not feeling compelled to move. Especially when he held her bedazzler hostage right before her eyes.

She wasn't quick enough to nudge it out of the way with her feet and now her hand shot out to make up for the rookie mistake and made to grab at the blue contraption. "Of course I did." She snapped, her yellow eyes narrowed as a frown marred her face.

With it back in her possession she cradled it in her arms like she had when she first found it on the ground on the rainbow road and let the silence fill the area. Roxy took in a deep breathe and dared a glance at the shaggy haired boy and his innocent smile and sighed. "Sorry," she forced out even though her frown didn't drop. "I'm not feeling like myself." She tried to explain as she leaned against the railing, gently as to to not upset her healing wound.

If he was taken aback by her sudden and unfounded irritation, Fritz didn't show it. Instead he merely nodded demurely at her, sliding his hands back into his pockets and rocking back on the heels of his feet.

He supposed he could have snapped back. Gotten annoyed at her inexplicable rude behavior towards him, but that would require too much energy, and Fritz did not really feel like using that much energy. Besides, allowing her to just let it all out - the anger, the frustration, whatever else she was feeling - maybe it would make her feel better in the long run.

It was none of his business, but he leaned against the rail beside her anyway, his back against it.

"I don't think anyone is feeling like themselves just about now," Fritz replied with a rueful smile, tilting his head upwards to gaze at the cracked ceiling, still beautiful in its ancient glory. "I mean...we're essentially trapped." He gave a small shrug. "It's normal to feel...not normal. Sometimes I think I'm suffocating, y'know?"

His green eyes traced the line of one crack, following its path as he spoke. "Just gotta keep busy and keep my mind from going crazy. Which I think it might already have, but at least I have good company."

Smiling at her, Fritz slanted his gaze towards her and said lightly "In any case, it's nicer to have friends out here than go it alone, know what I mean?"

Perhaps it might have seemed a bit too forward, but Fritz himself knew all too well how horrid isolating oneself from everyone else could be, especially in a situation as tentative and unknown as this one. Being alone only made it worse.

He cracked a grin at her. "Plus it's easier to have someone to talk to you, dontcha think?"

He had a point, a very good point. Fifty or so normal enough people had been plucked out of their everyday lives, thrust into space, battled against a giant whale and some bats and then were now going to be living in some ruins that looked like they hadn't been touched for who knew how long.

And they didn't know why.

So Roxy let out a long sigh as her arms fell to hang in front of her dirty thighs, still holding tight to her gem attaching tool. "Oh, how wise you are, good sir," she managed a small smile with a turn of her head to meet him eye to eye. "Did you learn all this through some wonderful life journey or are you making this up as you go along?" His grin was getting infectious perhaps, she could feel her smile pulling wider but not to the full extent of his, that magic wasn't a cure-all yet. Her yellow eyes still held a little sadness even as she thought of the three she knew she could count on.

After a pause, Roxy lifted her head up again looking at nothing in particular while her eyes remained unfocused on one of the windows. Her sad eyes narrowed, finally changing back to frustration as she pulled her arms up again to cross them under her chest. "You know, there is no North here and its aggravating." Perhaps a little random, but a little source to her troubles.

Fritz gave a low laugh, shaking his head slowly so that his dark red hair fell in front of his eyes, shielding them from view for a brief moment. "Wise?" he repeated, with an almost hollow tone. "Nah. Just trying to do what you are - keeping myself from thinking too much."

He met her gaze, his head cocked to one side as an uncharacteristically serious look flickered across his own eyes, though a faint smile still remained on his lips. "Completely making it up as I go along," he answered truthfully, then cracked a mildly cheeky grin. "Why, do I seem like I'm some wise old man? Maybe I'm turning into Yoda. Or Albus Dumbledore."

The corners of her lips were twitching upwards and Fritz gave a knowing look, reaching out to poke playfully in her direction. "Aha," he said, a triumphant grin on his own face. "I see that smile there! My work here is complete."

He blinked, slightly taken aback by her comment. After a moment, however, he turned around so that he was facing the same direction, leaning his forearms against the railing. "You know, you're right," he said seriously. "We'll just have to make one of our own."

Fritz was quite aware that he often made no sense, but in a situation like this one, a little silliness and lightheartedness could go a long way. He was desperate for some sort of normalcy, just a small piece of Earth. And no amount of wishing, playing, or make believe would be able to change that.

Trying not to think, in this situation? Ha! It garnered a small chuckle from the blonde, low and sad as she went back to looking at the device in her hands. "There isn't much to do but think..." Roxy mumbled in annoyance. Well, there was the work that those beautifully costumed people wanted them to do. But, really? Work? Sure they were sheltering these people but it didn't sit right with Roxy when they were probably the ones who brought them here in the first place - like Wallace liked to claim.

"Well, not like an old man," Roxy finally replied in normal vocal range. "The only other people I could think of to compare you to would be the Doctor but he's also an old man, just with a young face." There she narrowed her eyes playfully at Fritz, with her small smile still remaining. "Unless you secretly are such a man."

But then she sighed, perhaps a little too exaggerated then intended, "if you were like him you'd know which way North was though and get this annoying feeling right out of my head." She began to explain, "because it never feels right when I don't know which direction I'm going." Her smile fell a little crooked, "always a sign of trouble."

A little melodramatic? Sure, but it was getting her into at least the right direction to a better mood.

Fritz did not miss the rather despondent sounding laugh that was tinged with a bitterness he knew quite well, but he did not draw attention to it. His hands absently twisted their fingers together, momentarily lost in thought as he tried to figure out some way to make things better, some way to stop the feelings of helplessness and uselessness when it came to their undeniably anxious situation.

"Too much time to think, right?" Fritz said, laughing quietly. "Makes you want to just clear your mind and sit in a nothing box all day, without any thoughts to make you wonder."

He toyed with the rope bracelet on his left wrist. "I'd consider being compared to the Doctor a compliment," he told her with a teasing wink. "That show is quite enjoyable, I must say."

For a moment, Fritz regarded the girl curiously, blinking a few times. He had never thought about it before - the idea that not knowing where North was made things "not right," but now that he thought about it, it was entirely true. Out here, it was next to impossible to discern just which direction was which. Who was to say that there even was a North?

And then, quite suddenly, everything felt simply "wrong."

Fritz sighed, running a hand through his dark red hair. "I think I know what you mean," he said, propping his chin in his hand, his elbow resting on the rail. "It's...too eerie out here."

He had a good taste in television shows, a wonderful smile and he was finally picking up on what Roxy was dealing. Her eyes were elsewhere when he came to his conclussions, staring at one of the odd tapestries that adorned the walls; she couldn't make out what was going on, either because of the light or perhaps her eyes playing tricks on her... was someone stabbing something?

Either way, Roxy pulled her smile back and pushed herself lightly off of the railing she had been resting. With a little turn on her light feet, she was in front of Fritz and had her bedazzler poking into his shoulder. "See!" she stressed, giving him one more poke before pulling the device away, "you are totally getting it now... this place isn't right."

And they were stuck here.

Fritz's eyes were not on the same tapestry as this girl's, but they were roaming around the room all the same, taking in the dirt and grime streaked paintings, the splintered furniture, the faded and worn tapestries that hung from the walls. There were many of them; too many to count, even, but though they were matted and dulled from years of misuse, there was still an elegance to them that could not be hidden.

He blinked, slightly startled by her sudden reappearance in front of him, but then a lazy smile replaced the mildly surprised one, Fritz raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, yes, it was wrong of me to doubt the word of a lady," he said, with all the airs and graces of someone who had been in the wrong and was now trying to make amends. Fritz adopted a mock distraught look, pressing a hand to his chest. "Forgive me, kind lady."

After a moment he opened his eyes again, tilting his head to regard her. He reached out a hand.

"My name is Fritz, by the way. Might one ask your name?"

He might be mocking her, but it still brought a very satisfied smile to Roxy seeing how he was agreeing with her. Kind of. She also gave him a little shrug, accompanied with a small noise in a way of saying 'damn straight I'm right.'

It was that and the charming way he had called her a lady, really this guy really knew how to press the right buttons with the blonde. Steering her mind away from the situation with compliments and cute little remarks.

Pressing her free hand into his, "you can call me Yellow," she replied in a pleasant manner.

His mocking, thankfully, was all quite good natured, and his teasing smile melted easily into a genuine one as she gave him her hand.

Fritz raised a brow. "Yellow?" he repeated, cocking his head to one side as if considering it. He squeezed her hand with a grin, giving it a small shake before dropping it, linking his fingers behind his head.

"Nah," he said, after a moment's contemplation. "You don't really look like a Yellow to me. Or, at least, not a simple, generic one - that is too dull, at least in my opinion. No, I suppose you look something a trifle more elegant than just that; perhaps something along the lines of Saffron, Goldenrod, Sunglow, Lemon Chiffon..."

A pause. "Actually, scratch that last one; it's much too fussy. Buttercream, or Sunshine, or Sunflower Petal. Maybe even Sunrise or Sunset: a beautiful mix of all sorts of different colors, ranging from burnt umber, to orangey gold, to streaks of violet and red.

"No," said Fritz, eyes twinkling with mischief and amusement. "I'm quite certain you are not just plain, old Yellow."

Roxy had been a little worried that something in Fritz' brain would click that her use of a color as a name was just a ruse, especially with how he had first responded to her. But when he continued on, supplying more lovely variations of her simple nickname and feeding more into her ego. Of course, all she could do was laugh.

"Lemon Chiffon isn't so terrible, its a wonderful light color on a, well sometimes, beautifully made fabric." She contributed, still with a lot of mirth in her voice. How odd to thinking of nickname for a nickname, was it even a nickname? More like a codename really. All the time, "the other suggestions are really pleasant though."

"I'll leave it to you, though, with what you would like to call me since you find my name to be terribly plain," Roxy smirked as she joined Fritz back on the railing. "I'm wondering if I should do the same, even though I think Fritz is an adorable name, it gives you the air of class."

The good thing about being out here, in space, was that Fritz felt no need to try and pretend he was anyone other than himself. Not that he cared at all when they were back on earth, but here there were no professors to give him disapproving looks, no classmates who believed him to be the strange one in class. He could act exactly the way he wanted, and it was strangely liberating.

However, everything still felt "wrong;" that much he couldn't deny.

"Lemon chiffon reminds me of a pie," Fritz said, tapping his chin with one finger. "Or maybe some sort of frilly dress. Color-wise, it's delightfully pastel, but as a nickname, far too fussy for someone like you."

He scrutinized her for another moment, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I think," he said, after a few minutes. " - that I shall call you Sunshine. Mostly because it's bright and cheerful, and despite the fact that we're all rather out of sorts being out here, everyone can use a little sun in their lives, don't you think?"

He winked at her, but then his brows lifted. "Actually, Fritz is a nickname," he answered mildly, voice laden with amusement as he let his gaze rise to the ceiling, tracing the lines. "My real name is Frederick."
