how do you make friends?
im shy and awkward and not the best at making them.
i recently moved and left my small group behind.
i dont get out very much and i dont really have any friends gaia either.
not to sound dumb or anything but how can i get past being shy and awkward?
i have always had this problem and its hard to find people who understand me. plus im never really sure what to say...

I am 100% in the exact situation... sweatdrop I just recently moved to college, and I have absolutely no friends here, and I barely ever leave my dorm (only for food and classes, of course). Plus it doesn't really help that I kind of dress "differently" from the usual preppy style, and apparently my straight face always looks either angry or sad. xp But I guess my advice would be that eventually (like after a few days or so), you'll start to get used to not having anyone around, and you'll slowly start to say hello to people. I guess that's a good way to start meeting others and forming friendships. Or just remember how you made your previous friends, and try it that way. Sorry if I wasn't much help.. sweatdrop

god...i cant tell you how shy i am! it's like super hard for me to find friends, let alone a boyfriend! anyway, i made some new friends in my coworkers at the casino so i guess there's a start

The Ouroboros Alchemist I am 100% in the exact situation... sweatdrop I just recently moved to college, and I have absolutely no friends here, and I barely ever leave my dorm (only for food and classes, of course). you could make a coment out loud that others might agree with and when they say something back try to keep the convosation going. like say "I'm (name) by the way. so what classes do you have"
this worked for me once.
over all though: DO NOT over think about what to say. i do this all the time sweatdrop

i dont know exactly how to help you since 'shy' seems to not be in any niche or corner of my personality, but just try your best to smile and be who you are and in no time you'll have lots of friends! Also, if someone starts talking to you, try your best to keep the conversation going, like mia loved1 said. It all makes a difference. 3nodding

I just got over a bad anxiety problem not long ago, but I'm still shy and socially awkward.
I've can't play my online RPG's or even go in towns sometimes because of shyness towards new people.

its kinda comforting to know people are going through the same thing.
i dont really remember how i got to be friends with my friends cause we have been like that for so long.
