He had never been to the Aquarius outpost, and now that he was here, Frederick St. James was wondering only one thing:
Why had he not thought to come here first.
It was a simple place, much less ornate and decorative than either the Virgo or Leo outposts, with rough hewn, sandstone walls, a circular rooftop, no windows, and some sort of crescent moon shaped object attached near the top. The only gap in the unbroken wall that surrounded the main building were a set of elaborate gates bearing the signs of each zodiac symbol.
But that was not what was impressing Fritz. What had drawn his attention to the delightfully simple Aquarius outpost was one very important little detail:
Books.
He did not know why he had not thought of this in the first place. Where there were books, there was paper. Where there was paper, there were writing utensils.
Aka: things he could use to draw with.
At least, he hoped there was.
And so, Fritz decided to take a little trip to the outpost of one Zodiac soldier known as Aquarius.
It was farther away than he had expected; across the way from the Leo and Virgo outposts, seemingly on the other end of the spectrum (so to speak). However, once he arrived there, Fritz stared up in awe at the square-shaped building, hoping beyond hope that there would be some sort of thing in there he could use to draw.
Inside it was just as simple as outside, though Fritz did not stop to pay much attention to the decorations. Instead he made a beeline towards the staircase. He had asked around, probably bothering several people in the process with stupid questions, looking for information on what he was looking for, and finally he had found someone who told him it was on the second floor.
Climbing the stairs, he disappeared into the second floor, passed the first two rooms (they looked as if they were kitchens, or something like that) until finally he reached his destination:
The library.
It was beautiful. Fritz stood staring in awe at the rows and rows of floor-to-ceiling books.
Somewhere...somewhere in here... There was a pencil.

Raven was truly enjoying her time at the Aquarius Outpost, spending a lot of her time in the library, trying to organize the books. She figured that getting the library organized was a good way to help out, considering all that had been done to accommodate the wayward civilians.
As the blonde made her way back to the front of the library, her eyes fell upon Fritz and she blinked.
"Oh. Hey. I didn't realize anyone else had come in here...are you looking for something, or did you come to help me clean this place up?"
He looked slightly familiar. She had seen him while the whale was attacking, though hadn't paid him any attention. She gave a smile then reached down, scooping up more books.

Fritz realized, quite soon, that a good chunk of these books were protected by some kind of barrier.
That, and they were in a language he could not understand in the slightest.
It was okay, however; the language was beautiful and fascinating to just look at, and Fritz discovered that the barrier surrounding the dozens upon dozens of bookshelves was quite a bit thinner than the barriers elsewhere. If he pushed just hard enough, his hand would sink through to touch the spines of the aged manuscripts; a feeling rather like submerging one's hand in jello.
Engrossed in this particular find, Fritz did not notice that someone had spoken to him until nearly a full minute after the fact. He started slightly, turning to find a young woman with blonde hair and crystal blue eyes standing beside him, peering at him with a mildly curious expression mixed with a vague sort of bemusement.
"Oh, sorry!" Fritz said hastily, letting out a sheepish laugh. "I was just looking, really. I'm trying to find a pencil. Or a pen. Or just something to write with, rather, and some paper."
The girl looked a little familiar; Fritz tilted his head, trying to figure out where exactly he'd seen her before - though admittedly, all of the faces of the past few days had started to shift and melt into one, and he did not know where he had met who anymore.

Raven nodded then let out a sigh. "Yeah, well, be careful while looking. The Library isn't really safe..I was attacked here earlier."
Then why was she back inside here? Cleaning up the damage the salamander had done? Trying to keep her mind off of Jett lying unconscious in the Virgo infirmary?
She didn't know.
"A pen or Pencil? Have you asked one of the senshi people? They've been handing out different things, I'm sure they could get you a pencil or pen if you asked...I'm not sure you'll find anything in here."

Something flickered in Fritz's eyes at Raven's words, his lips pressing together in a thin line. He'd heard about the attacks, of course - everyone had. But the idea that it had happened in here, to this poor girl...
He had seen the comatose bodies in the infirmary, seen the devastation, the sorrow, the desperate attempts to revive them, to figure out just what exactly had happened and to understand that they were not as safe as they had thought they were. Where everything had first seemed so simple (in a roundabout way), now it seemed things were beginning to fray, to fall apart.
Fritz shook his head, trying to rid himself of his anxious thoughts and offered the girl a small smile. "I don't want to get in the way," he answered truthfully. "I think they have quite enough on their minds right now, anyway."
That certainly was an understatement, if anything.
He hesitated only a moment before asking his next question. "So...what was it like, being attacked? I mean," he quickly corrected himself, not wanting to sound insensitive. "I've heard all these rumors, and I'm just trying to figure out what exactly happened."

Raven raised a brow. "What was it like? It was like..."
She nodded towards the large hole in the wall. "A giant gooey hand tore through the stone and grabbed me...the other grabbed Jett...they were these huge a** salamanders, and it was scary..."
She trailed off then shivered. "I almost got eaten. It was awful...but Jett saved me, and now he's off in coma land and...and I think it's my fault."
The girl was clearly bitter and worried for her friend.
"Anyway...I'm really not sure it's safe anywhere up here anymore...not that it ever really was, right?"

Fritz's eyes involuntarily followed Raven's to the expansive hole in the wall, flinching slightly at the sight of it. He did not want to think of something reaching through it and snatching him off of his feet, crushing him into a pulp, draining him of his energy. He already felt hopeless and useless out here; knowing that this sort of thing could happen made the situation just that much worse.
"...I'm sorry," he said, after a moment, dragging himself back to the present His head felt a little light, though he kept the calm expression on his face, determined not to show any sort of weakness to this girl. She had every reason to be afraid; he had none, not having see what she had seen. Though to be honest, sometimes it was the unseen things that were worse than the ones seen.
"I'm sure he'll be fine," Fritz said bracingly, reaching out to pat her shoulder reassuringly. "I'm sure after he spends some time at Virgo's, he'll be all right."
Dark brows flickered slightly, and he let out a small sigh, unaware that it had escaped his throat. "I'm not sure of anything anymore, to be honest," he admitted quietly, running a hand through his mussed red hair. He gave a small, near bitter laugh, shaking his head. "I mean, from the first moment we arrived something went wrong. Why not get worse while we're at it?"

Raven nodded, then just shrugged. “Yeah…I’m going to head over to Virgo again and see if He’s awake yet. I’ll see if I can find a senshi to get you a pencil, if you want. What’s your name, anyway? I’m Raven.”
She nodded. “Yeah. I really hope…we get out of here soon. I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to stay sane, you know?” The blonde let out a shaky laugh. “Well, stay away from giant salamanders while you’re outside. They’re vicious. “ She gave a half smile then shook her head. “It was nice meeting you, I guess I’ve been isolating myself lately, part of me wants to see the salamanders again. Do you think that’s strange? I want to find them and kick them. They deserve it.”
The blonde sighed heavily now. “Stay safe, okay?”
