Fritz was back at the Leo outpost.

This was not because he actually had a good reason to be there, but mostly because he just felt like visiting.

And exploring. And keeping himself busy so that he didn't go stir crazy while they were all trapped here in the middle of space the final frontier.

Which was how he found himself meandering, not towards the kitchens for food (a first), but up a flight of ornate marble stairs towards the second floor, where he found...

Rubble. Lots of rubble. It seemed as if something had swept through - possibly a tornado (not) - and managed to overturn anything and everything in its path. Elaborate crystal chandeliers, once hanging delicately from the ceiling, had fallen and smashed, shattering glass and crystal across the once smooth and clean floor. Enormous paintings, with their heavy wooden frames glossed over with shining primer were cracked and splintered, water stains evident across the face of the canvas (a horrible travesty, in Fritz's mind). And there were bits of dust and dirt everywhere.

Along with one very familiar person that he recognized quite easily. He felt a smile dart across his face as he crossed the room.

"Hey - it's Josh, right?" Fritz said, as he stepped over a particularly pathetic looking portrait of a young girl, moving slowly through the wreckage towards the young man.

He'd been more or less alone so far today, but Joshua wasn't too bothered about it.

If Fritz throught this was in a bad state now, clearly he hadn't seen it before Joshua has swept through and pushed most of the debris away, with the help of a few senshi, including Leo himself. Most of the others preferred to be in the kitchens to cleaning.

Joshua wasn't much for cleaning, really - it just happened to be a side-effect of fixing what he could in here. The paintings were beyond him, but there were a few things he'd been able so salvage already. They didn't look super pretty, sure, but at least they were usable.

It was the sound of footsteps that caught his attention, and the familiar face that was revealed. "Hey !" ...s**t, what was his name again ? "Fritz, wasn't it ?"

He hoped. Forgetting a name made for a shitty first impression. He wasn't sure their meeting on my little pony road counted.

It was true that Fritz had not seen the place before it had been cleaned up significantly, having spent most of his time hopping from outpost to outpost in an attempt to keep himself occupied. When he was not exploring, he was at the Virgo outpost, helping to keep the wounded healthy and do his best to provide a ridiculous sort of entertainment for anyone who just needed a laugh.

Acting incredibly goofy was a specialty of his, after all.

The paintings that were littered across the rubble strewn floor made Fritz wince. He may have been just a simple artist, drawing for a silly little webcomic that was written by his brother, but even Fritz could appreciate fine artwork.

And fine artwork should not have been ripped, torn, and collapsed to the floor like these pieces were.

A travesty, Fritz thought forlornly again, then turned back to Joshua.

"Yeah, it's Fritz," he said, lifting a hand in greeting, then slipping it into the pocket of his torn jeans (he had yet to find a new pair of pants here that actually fit him, so he was still wearing his old ones). "Glad to see you're all right, man. That was some crazy stuff back there."

A wild understatement, if not anything else. Fritz surveyed the still ornate room they were standing in.

"So, whatcha doing?" he asked. "Cleaning? Do you need some help?"

"Yeah, just keeping busy." Else he would go stirr-crazy. "Most of everyone does the kitchen, but im not that good of a cook, so..." He strugged. "I've been putting the furniture back together, mostly. You wouldn't believe how comfortable those matteresses are..."

Hell yes he was yoinking a room when he was done. This was mostly his work ! "I bet this was all so lovely before... Whatever happened here did." He was clearly saddened by the state of things. He was no artist, but he could appreciate beauty and extravagance.

"You could move the paintings to the back room, if you'd like ? I've been putting what might be salvagable but beyond my reach there." He hadn't tossed or reused anything that wasn't beyond repair - these weren't his, after all - and Leo could decide for himself what to keep and what to discard.

Keeping busy. Fritz knew how that went all too well. He'd been doing everything he could just to keep his mind from wandering, since he knew if it did his thoughts would splinter and break, exploding into his mind and making him think everything that he didn't want to think about at the moment. Being here was making him just a bit edgier than he normally would be; something that Fritz did not particularly like, nor wish to expand on, so he threw himself into doing whatever he could just to prevent himself from tearing his hair out.

Especially since he rather liked his hair.

"Mattresses?" If he'd had ears, they would have perked up, but as it was Fritz just looked curiously interested. "Oh, you mean from the bedrooms here? I can imagine they'd be rather elaborate."

He drifted off a bit, looking around at the room. "It's still lovely," Fritz said, with a small smile. "Just a bit dirty, is all! We can fix it up to make it look better, I'm sure."

"Got it, boss!" There were no sleeves for him to push up, but Fritz nodded determinedly, making his way towards the nearest painting. It was nearly as large as he was, a good three feet wide and perhaps about four feet tall. The frame was made of an ornate, gold painted wood, and the canvas depicted a sunset across a lake.

He tried to pick it up.

Bad idea.

"fffslflsdmffffaauuggghhhhhh - !!!"

The painting was extremely heavy. Especially when it was lying on top of Fritz, who, in his attempt at carrying it, had merely toppled over and found himself with a mouthful of canvas.

"Yeah, these are all bedrooms... Im not sure to who they belonged to, through. Leo didn't tell." He shrugged - he had no burning desire to know. Whoever these rooms had been found was now long gone.

"It already looks much better than he used to, really. You wouldn't believe the mess it used to be like..." He beamed with obvious pride. He'd had help, thankfully, but a lot of it was his work.

....That expression lasted till just about where Fritz got pancaked by the painting, hazel eyes going wide for split second before he was on his feet.

This wasn't what Joshua had in mind !

"s**t, you okay ?!" Maybe he'd gotten too used to having senshi aid... "Okay, push and ill pull it back up, okay ? Three... Two..."

He pulled. s**t, that thing was heavy !

Fritz was now starting to wonder whether he should make his temporary home at the Leo outpost now, seeing as how Josh was excavating the bedrooms. Now that he could see them relatively more clearly, it was quite obvious that they were, in fact, extraordinarily extravagant.

And very comfortable looking.

"Maybe they belonged to other zodiac people," Fritz replied thoughtfully, tapping his chin. He pivoted slowly where he stood, eyes roaming the dilapidated room. There was no doubt that it would still take a bit of work to clean it all out, but Joshua was obviously very diligent in his work, the proud tone in his voice evidence enough of that. And Fritz found that he would really like to help out; he was capable, after all. He could certainly manage to help Josh out for a while.

Except for that whole painting falling on top of him thing.

"I'm okay!" came the muffled voice from beneath the enormous canvas, all that could be seen of Fritz a pair of flailing legs and arms. He wiggled beneath the painting, attempting to wriggle out from underneath it until he heard Josh's voice above him. Shifting so he could press his knee to the middle of the canvas, Fritz waited until he could feel it moving, and then he shoved hard.

Maybe a little too hard.

The sudden push from Fritz's end, combined with the yanking from Josh's end, made the heavy painting suddenly jerk upwards. Fritz dived for it, managing to catch it just before it toppled onto Joshua as well, tumbling sideways with it instead.

"Ow."

He sat up, half on top of the stupid thing now, and looked down at it rather sheepishly.

"That wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I said I'd help."

Joshua hadn't toppled over, but he had ended up with a forehead full of frame before Fritz caught it.

"Ow !"

This was, indeed, unpleasant, and the black-haired teen rubbed his forehead, stumbling back against the wall in his daze. He was gonna end up with a bump the size of a small city for this one !

"Well, if something else happens... Painting make very useful weapons." That was his attempt at a joke, through he still was seeing stars. "I didn't think they were that heavy..."

"OH BLOODY HELL I'M SO SORRY - "

Fritz looked at Josh in mild horror, flailing around as he tried to find something to press against the other's forehead. Of course, sitting in the middle of a bedroom in a castle in outer space, both ice and bags of peas seemed quite scarce, and so Fritz sat back on his heels a little uselessly.

"Well," he said, after a moment. "At least we can say now that we've been attacked by rabid paintings. Seems a bit more intimidating than a space whale, doesn't it?"

He sighed, rubbed his lower back, which was now sore, and dragged himself to his feet, holding out his hand to help Joshua up as well.

"Next time I'll pick a smaller painting."

"It's fine." He was still rubbing at his forehead. "My mother always said I was hard-headed..."

Didn't make him feel much better, through. Spin it however you like, eating a giant painting hurt, but it hadn't been Fritz' fault, not really.

"Personally, im game for saying this never happened if you are."

Deny embarrassing things, go !

Fritz was in mild panic mode, attempting vainly to look around for a cold compress in a room that clearly did not have one. Looking at Joshua sitting there, rubbing what was rapidly becoming an enormous, angry red welt on his forehead, made him feel quite ridiculous.

"Er," he said, obviously flustered. "I'm sorry. Er. Yeah."

There was a moment while he was silent. Then he added, in a darkly serious tone, "Yes. Let's both agree that this particular little incident never occurred."

Pushing himself to his feet, Fritz held out his hand to Josh. "I say we move on to other things. Maybe picking up all that rubble over there in the corner."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 20, 2011 2:37 pm

Now that was Joshua was talking about. "Yeah..."

Ugh, his head was throbbing. "There's some Advil in here somewhere, right ?" Oh, gods, he hoped. This was going to suck, otherwise.

Still, he hated to let pain stop him, so he nodded at Fritz's subjection. "Guess I'll have to wait for a senshi to swing by again to get those moved..." He chucked. Somehow he was kind of getting used to the weirdness.

Sort of.

Maybe.

"I find Excedrin to be much more successful than Advil, but beggars can't be choosers," Fritz quipped, though there was worry evident on his face. He stood, hands on his hips, and surveyed the room.

The rubble pile looked a little heavy.

Fritz looked some more. Then he turned to Joshua.

"What say we go try and find you some Advil instead?"

Of course the more they talked about various pain medicine, the more his head seemed to throb and hurt. It was just the way of things, really.

In a way, he was just glad to not have gotten knocked right out. That would have sucked, really. For the both of them.

Through, now the temptation was too much. "Sure, my head is killing me now..."

Fritz, relieved that they would not have to haul any more rubble around and potentially knock themselves silly, motioned for Joshua to walk first, following in his footsteps.

"So," he said, once they were on their way. "This is a particularly, er...interesting field trip, wouldn't you say? I mean," he added, shaking his head as if to clear it. "We're still stuck in space, after all."

He held up his hands. "I can see it now - headline news: "MYSTERIOUSLY HANDSOME MEN COME BACK VICTORIOUS FROM THEIR ESCAPADE IN SPACE - "
