Sol opened one of his eyes. He could see the dark den around him. His mother had carefully dug the den larger for the cubs. They had plenty of room, but a lot of time the cubs would curl up close to their mother for warmth. As much as Sol would love to deny it, he too loved to get as close to him mother as possible, sometimes pushing one of his siblings away from her.
This morning was different. He was a distance away from his family as they slept. Today was the day he would adventure out of the den and no one could stop him. His family was fast asleep. He had planned this little outing for a couple nights now. He had to figure out what time everyone woke up at, so he could make sure he woke up before them.
Quietly he got up and walked on quiet feet, doing his best not to bump into anyone. As he walked he brushed up against one of his siblings. He hurried his pase, still being careful, hoping the sibling would just think it was a breeze.
At last he was free. He looked around and saw the sun just slightly peaking over the savannah. Stars were still out, the air smelt cool. This was going to be a fun night, Sol thought to himself as he smiled wickedly.

Qayyima's awakening was as quick as the brief touch of what had to be one of her siblings. She took a quick look around, doing a head count- of course it was Sol.
A smile split across her face as she carefully maneuvered through the pile of her other brothers and sister. Giving a glance back, making sure everyone was safe and Mamma was there, she headed out after her wayward brother.
She had to make sure he was going to be alright! And who knew, maybe they could play fight! That was Qay's favorite game! Though tag was pretty fun too!

Sol thought he heard something, he was sure he heard something. He kept walking. It wouldn't do if he were to start panicking. If it was someone bigger than he was he would just hurry and run to the den, except he almost sounded like the creature was behind him, between him and the den. He could always threaten that his father would come out and beat him if he were to try and harm him. Sol was sure that Dhavlen wouldn't do that though. He would probably laugh and say 'it's your fight. Man up!' and watch.
Sol decided his only choice was to take this into his own hands. He twirled around, with all of his grace, ready to start a fight, when he saw his older sister. “How annoying!” he said loudly. Of course his sister would be the one to follow him. “Qay, get back to the den right now. This is my adventure,” he said angrily, his tail flipping back and forth.

A smile bloomed on Qayyima's face.
"Nuh-uh little brother! Someone needs to make sure your safe! So its our adventure now!"
She crouched down into a pouncing position.
"Plus, you couldn't make me leave! I'm much better at play fighting then you!"
The smile remained plastered to her face as she abandoned the pounce and walked up to the side of Sol.

Sol glared at his sister. Sometimes he wished he was the only cub in the litter. Than again if he was he would he pick on? He grinned mischievously as he continued to walk. It would be a bit boring not having his siblings to tease all the time. He glanced at his sister. "Fine our adventure, but don't get in my way."
He rolled his eyes when she got into pouncing position. As much as he hated to admit it, his sister was a much better fighter than he was, let's face it almost all the siblings were better than he was. "Yea well soon I'll be stronger than you. When you are an adult you'll be all big with cubs and I'll be off training. You'll be stuck in your den big and fat, while I'm off defeating the gods! So there." He said sticking his tongue out. "Than I'll make you leave and I'll be able to beat you in a fight!"
He looked around to see where he wanted the adventure to take him. There was a mountain in the distance with a waterfall coming out of it. Now that looked fun. "We are going to be going over there," he decided as he took charge of the adventure. "That looks like a good place to cause trouble at."

Laughter spilled from Qay's mouth. "That is unlikely Sol! I'll be to busy beating all the boys at their own game! I'll keep getting stronger and stronger, then no one could beat me! That way I'll always be able to protect you guys and Mamma!"
She bounded off toward the mountain. "Are you coming or what?!"

Sol puffed up. No way was he going to let his sister beat him to the mountain. He wasn't as fast as she was, but perhaps there was another way. As he ran he suddenly let himself trip over a rock, tumbling forward. "Ouch!" He cried out as he got up. Tears filled his eyes. He held up his front right paw and cringed when he moved it. "Qay! Qay I think I hurt my paw."

Qayyima stopped so fast that the ground stung her paws, but that did not deter her from rushing back to her brother with worry in her eyes.
"What happened Sol?! Is your paw the only thing that hurts?!"

"It hurts so badly Qay!" He whined, holding his paw out for her. Than for a moment he smirked. With his other paw he brought up dirt into the air, directly toward Qayyima. "Ha! Tricked ya!"
He than bolted toward the forrest, running as quickly as he could. His mom would have probably scolded him for lying like that, saying that lying is wrong. Sol didn't think so. It was okay as long as he won. Who cared if he cheated? As long as he beat the others it shouldn't matter too much. Some day he would meet like minded individuals who agreed with him. Until than he would have to do his best to get away with his trouble making.

"Ahh!" Qayyima reeled back as the dirt hit her in the face, tripping over her feet.
She tumbled to the ground beneath her heavily. Her eyes stung and rubbing only made it worse.
"Ow." Opening her eyes hurt even more, but she took a quick peak just in time to see Sol run into the forest. "Sol! Come back! Its not safe!" She took off after him while trying to blink back the grit from her eyes.

Sol looked back at his sister. She looked really bad, but she could be trying to trick him to get back at him. "Sorry Qay! Not this time! I am going to win the race and you are going to lose!" He laughed hysterically as he ran, failing to miss an object that was barley sticking out of the ground. He tripped over it and tumbled to the ground.
"SISSY I'M HURT!" He cried out. This time he was. His foot had a stabbing pain in it. "Stupid rock! Don't trip me next time!"
He went to bat at the object that tricked him, when he noticed it shimmered. "Sissy! Hey Sissy look at this. I found some treasure!" He called to her. "AND IT IS MINE!"

Her eyes still hurt but when Sol cried out that didn't matter. She bounded at full speed toward him, skidding to a halt a foot away. Quickly she closed even that distance.
"Let me see it Sol!"
She blinked a few more times, eyes still sore and red. She didn't get a good look at it before her eyes stung again, forcing her to close them.
"Is it bleeding? Or does it just hurt a lot?

"It doesn't hurt anymore! Sissy! Sissy! Look what I found!" He said showing off what he found, though he did have a slight limp. Carefully he started to dig at the shimmering gold color jewelry. He than tugged at it with paw. Finally it came loose and he had a crown in his hand. "I FOUND TREASURE!" His eyes went big at the sight of the crown.
"I wonder if there is more? Sissy Qay help me dig! I'll share my treasure with you if you do!" Lie, he would not. He would keep it to himself and not share it. She didn't need the treasure, no he did. He wanted more than anything and if she tried to take it from him he would fight her for it.

"Sol, your still hurting! If you want the treasure, I'll dig it up for you, but please rest your paw!"
The grit was finally starting to clear from her eyes but they still stung heavily.

If Qay did all the work he could just rest. This was turning out better than he thought. He wore the crown as a necklace. "If you dig you better dig fast! We need to head back soon! We got to get back before mommy wakes up or she'll be upset at her."
