Xiu was not one for clothes shopping.

Well, it wasn't so much that she disliked it, rather than...she never really had a need for it. As most of her clothing--including the dress she frequently loved to wear--were made by her uncle, she rarely found the need to go out and buy clothing. However, here she was, standing in the middle of the maul with no idea where to start searching for new clothing, or even what kind of clothing, for that matter. A new shirt? A new skirt?

...She really needed some help. Unfortunately, the Baku hadn't had the foresight to invite any of her friends with her. Originally, the plan had simply been to drop by the maul to pick up something nice--like a new cat toy--for Arashi, but she figured that she could take a look around now that she was here.

Now, where to start?

Last trip to the maul involved meeting a fellow Amityville student. All of Pepin's preconceived notions of hanging out there had been shaken a bit. It seemed more students went there than not which gave her the motivation to keep coming back to her favorite place before she was enrolled. The ghoul did some of her typical wanderings, giving the scarecade a good haunt and leaving her name on every high score in the machines, then continued out into the food court to grab a snack to walk with.

Munching away at a small order of finger fries, Pepin floated past all her favorite stores. Not that she had very good taste at all. She had to chose data speed over style, which meant everything had to be black and white and hardly appropriate for a ghoul her age. Not that she minded walking around in mostly swimsuits but it would've been nice to have something very regal and dashing to wear especially after meeting Riyo. If the school ever threw some sort of masquerade she'd be boned for having nothing proper looking.

A couple stops away she noticed a very nicely dressed ghoul obviously doing some window shopping as well. The baku stood out among the countless graphic tee's and shredded pants that patrolled in drones around the mall, and she just HAD to associate herself with the pink ghoulie. Floating over with a erm.. attempted pleasant smile, Pepin made sure she didn't sneak up on this one like she tended to with most people she met.

Of course upon drawing closer, Pepin realized she'd seen this ghoul before SOMEWHERE. In class maybe? Oh boy another Amityville student! This was splendid!. c:

...These clothes were just not her style. Xiu had stopped in front of the closest store, taking in the casual t-shirts and jeans with a little frown. There was nothing wrong about such clothing, but...she wouldn't look very good in these, would she? Or at least, she didn't think so. Perhaps she should have brought a fashion-conscious friend along to give her a hand with picking out new clothin--

--...someone was behind her, weren't they.

Slowly, Xiu glanced over her shoulder and took in the figure who was floating over. Floating. Some of the Baku's nervousness was replaced with amazement, and she turned to face the ghoul completely. "T...that's pretty cool!" She blurted out, promptly blushing. "I-I mean, I'm sorry. I've just never seen...ahem."

Now that the ghost ghoul was close, Xiu realized that she looked a little familiar. They had been in a couple of classes together, hadn't they? And her name was...nope, she was drawing a blank. Clearing her throat, she smiled and raised her hand hesitantly towards Pepin. "I, um...you go to Amityville too, right? I'm Xiu. Xiu-Ying. And you're...?"

Pepin would've been just as pleased to shock the ghoul but as she turned to see her she stopped, looked down at her feet, then back up. "Wh- wh- what's cool?" she asked with a flicker. "My shoes? I guess they're alright.. but.. if you want a pair I can tell you where to buy them. c:" The ghost smiled as her retort completely missed the mark. She had no idea Xiu was talking about her entirety.

"Yes indeed I do!" At the mention of Amityville Pepin lit up. So she was right! The glitch ghost never forgets a face. "I'm Pepin Molyneau, kinda new there but it's been at least a month maybe two now. I was certain you looked familiar its good to have a name to such a cute face!" Winking, she reached out to lock arms with Xiu.

"So you doing a little shopping? I am too, I was looking for some new threads to download since I think people might be bored with just this-" she gestured down over her figure. Still floating, she made sure she was at eye level with the other ghoul. "Speaking of threads you are just dressed ADORABLY where did you get this?" Pepin carefully plucked her top with a smile.

"N-no, I mean...w-well, your shoes are nice too! But...but I meant...you're floating." Of course, this wasn't very surprising since this ghoul was a ghost, but now that she thought about it? Aside from Lattice and Bea, the Baku wasn't all that familiar with the other ghost students lurking around the school. And none of them really glided through the air as the glitch ghost did.

As usual, Xiu opened her mouth to give her typical polite speech--"it's very nice to meet you, Pepin", or something to that extent--but she was startled into silence before she could get that far. "C-cute? No. No, I...I'm not, I mean..." She stumbled over her words, letting Pepin link arms with her without any resistance. Shaking her head, she made an effort to dismiss the compliment with a red-faced expression and smile. "A-anyways! I-I'm glad to learn your name as well!"

She bobbed her head at the question, her cheeks glowing red again as the other ghoul inquired about her top. "Oh! Um...my uncle made it for me! He makes me most of my outfits, so I...I'm not really sure where to even start with clothes shopping." She gestured helplessly to their surroundings, before perking up a little. "If you're here to shop too, do you think that I could...?" Would Pepin oppose to letting her tag along?

"Yes... I'm definitely floating. Walking IS overrated after all. N- no offense." Pepin giggled with her free hand over her mouth. Walkers had their talents and were always taller than her even when she floated half the time.

Eyes rolled when the ghoul rejected her title of cute. Even at Amityville the ghoul somehow found even the most distorted and unconventional creatures to be precious at least on the outside. Such a superficial way to identify folks.

"MADE it for you?? No. WAY." She gasped and continued to fondle the fabric pleasantly. "I would LIVE to have these threads oooooo~" Throwing a smile to Xiu she nodded. "I'd be honored if you'd shop with me!" She squeezed gently on the Baku before tugging her arm in the direction of the nearest store.

Ah, how Xiu wished that she could float! Then again, she was envious of many of her peers for the variety of skills or natural abilities that they had. Flying, floating--in theory, she could do both of these things in her dreams (or in some cases, the dreams of others) but it would never be the same.

Oh well. She would just have to resign herself to walking.

Blushing, the Baku smiled with embarrassment at Pepin's response. "M-my uncle is very talented," She couldn't help but chirp, wagging her tail slightly. The only person in the family who could sew, and it was a man. The concept was a little strange to some, but Xiu was actually quite proud of this fact.

Her expression became a mix of delight and surprise when Pepin agreed to her request, tugging her along to one of the stores. She trotted after the ghost obediently, eyes wide with curiosity. "W-what kind of clothes will we be looking at?"

"Daaaaamn right he is," Pepin smirked. "I don't have an uncle but I'm sure he wouldn't be as talented. At all." Huffing slightly she hung her head melodramatically. Though her foster family probably had some talents up the line she never dared to ask them for things like that.

"Anything you wanna look- look- look at~" she said flickering in and out. "I just have to download whatever I see. Course.. not everything is downloadable-"

It was a hard process to explain but was as easy as just shopping online. In fact that was really all it was. "You don't dress too casual, do you?" Pepin assumed eyeing the ghoul up and down a moment. "Let's go to the dresses EEEEEEEE I WANNA SEE YOU DRESS UP!"

Xiu was a little alarmed when Pepin repeated the same word three times (OH JACK DID SHE BREAK HER SOMEHOW), but she let out a long sigh of relief when it simply turned out to be a brief flicker. Phew! Smiling a little sheepishly at the question, the Baku glanced down at herself for a moment before looking back up.

"I...I admit that I'm, um, a little more partial to dresses." Which seemed to be a good thing, considering the ghost ghoul's sudden excitement. Xiu wasn't sure why Pepin suddenly seemed so eager to see her dress up, b-but...if it made her happy, then...

...Surely it wouldn't hurt to comply?

"U-um...okay! I-I guess...if you help me pick out some dresses, I'll try them on?"

Pepin had little free data to wear dresses so freely so getting to dress up another ghoul like her own personal doll was selfishly delightful. "Well since I have your consent.." Sneering, the ghoul look control of their direction and skipped airily towards the dresses displaced in the ghouls section of the store. (No doubt there was a unisex dress section)

"Would you look at this??" Pepin exclaimed giddily as she detached herself from Xiu momentarily to fawn over a short cut autumn dress. "It's not too pink but... LOOK AT THE WHITE AND BROWN AND-"

Carefully she removed the hanger from the stand and held it up to herself then to Xiu. "This one first, this one!" she said but instead of handing it over draped it over her arm. They'd be owning the dressing rooms for sure.

Her eyes widened slightly at the dress, taking it in with a quick sweep of her eyes. The colors were awfully nice, and it was really quite pretty, but..."Isn't it...isn't it a little short?" Then again, the dress that she was currently wearing had a somewhat short skirt, but she always wore safety shorts underneath just in case. Then again, considering that her knowledge of fashion was non-existent, perhaps it was best to let Pepin do all the choosing.

"What about...this one?" The Baku held up a rather plain dress--it was red, and had a black ribbon going around the waist. It was kind of a typical Xiu-type dress in that it was simple and modest, but...kind of boring, really. The Baku paused to sift through the racks to see what other dresses there were.

...Did that dress have a swooping neckline? ...That definitely wouldn't suit her in the least. She didn't have much to hold the top up!
