There were several things that Cordelia Carden had shuffled onto her list of things 'to do' upon returning to Destiny City from the vacation that had set her back on track. The first had involved getting in contact with Oddy to let him know that she was alive; she had returned safely and sooner, rather than later, they were going to have to get together to talk things out and figure out where they stood, as a team and otherwise.

The second had involved an irritant that she had only crossed paths with once before over the course of a contest that she had ignored. She had questions to ask him and, quite possibly, a senshi to enlighten on several things that didn't involve fighting youma for cash.

That being the case, once she'd gotten everything settled in Cordelia had henshined up, heading out to Destiny City Memorial Park before sending out a message to the Senshi of Spiders.

Incoming message: Meet me at DCMP. Regrets will not be accepted.

Incomming Message: Why would I regret being summoned by you?

It was only having his real phone on vibrate constantly that kept him from jumping when the one granted to him as a senshi went off. It was still odd feeling something trying to get your attention from outside the 'real' world but the message in it was interesting all the same.

Dusting his hands off on his pants (youma still made messes) he tucked the phone away before heading across the city to the park. What Vengeance wanted with him he had no idea but that wasn't the sort of girl you wanted mad at you for not keeping a date.

The Senshi of Vengeance was waiting in her usual spot... Not that Arachne would know that, of course, but it was. From her perch on the tall base of the statue at the center of the park she could see the stretch of grass go on until it met the trees; watch every path as it wound out before her. She could see where her current conquest would be coming from, and she would be mindful of any danger that might follow.

Incoming Message: Don't keep me waiting for too long or you'll find out.

She banished the phone into her subspace after sending that message, of a mind that no other message would really be worth responding to after that. Banter could be saved for in person or it didn't have to be used at all.

He headed into the park and up one of the paths from the south at an easy pace. There weren't signs of anything in the area other than the senshi who'd asked, commanded, him to meet her. He could easily tell where she'd perched herself and kept a smirk firmly on his lips as he headed toward the center of the park.

"You know ... seems a little paranoid you perching yourself there." He knew she had to have both sensed and seen him coming with where she'd left herself. He thought it was slightly stupid since leaving yourself in the dead center meant you could get surrounded.

"Paranoid? Not at all. It helps, from time to time, to place yourself strategically." She murmured as she pushed herself up against the marble, stretching out slowly as she stood before hopping down to the ground in order to place herself at an even level with him, heels landing with a click.

"From up there you could see me just as easily as I could see you. Neither of us are left relying on our senses alone... Because sometimes they can't be trusted. Someone who's on your side could easily have something other than your best intentions in mind." Her eyes, although stormy, seemed determined enough as the fingers of her right hand curled into a quick fist before she took a swing at him, testing his reflexes; wondering just how much he ever let himself be distracted by a pretty face.

"But leaving yourself dead center of a field leaves you open to being surrounded." He smirked moments before ducking her swing. All the hard work he put into fighting the youma came in handy and had done wonders to help his reflexes. Too bad it hadn't helped his golf swing any though now he wondered if he could find a way to make it help that.

He settled himself back on his feet and raised a brow. "Have to be faster than that honey. I didn't get where i am by letting things surprise me. Plus it would mean letting someone possibly mess up my pretty face."

"I know what it leaves you open to. I've seen it happen before." The tree. The clearing. Those poor, misguided aliens. The Negaverse. It was one of the things that came to the front of her mind every time she fought a battle in the park and yet, instead of avoid it, she kept coming back here... Just kept coming back.

When he ducked her punch she continued moving, determined in some way to give this arrogant a** a test run of sorts, taking another swing with plans to back it up with an elbow to the midsection if he ducked this one. "How often do you fight something other than youma? You should worry about more than just your pretty face."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:26 am

"I don't." He grunted slightly as he ducked her first punch and managed to catch the elbow on his arm instead of letting it connect with his gut. There wasn't anything else worth him fighting. He didn't have any reason to bother trying to fight with other Senshi and the Negaverse was just a bunch of misguided teenagers from what he'd seen. It seemed like arguing with them would be like trying to tell a fundamentalist christian that the bible wasn't meant to be taken literally.

Vaulting himself back he tried to get out of her range completely. He didn't -want- to fight her. Ther wasn't anything in it for him. "You can stop that any time now"

"You should get into the practice of it. Not everyone is going to stand around and chat, or sit back and let you defeat them. There are things out there worse than an ugly youma and if you aren't aware of that it's someone's duty to let you know."

Super Sailor Corvus paused for a moment, letting her eyes settle on the Senshi if Spiders as though sizing him up. "I'm not going to stop until you've shown me that you can properly defend yourself against something with an actual brain... Then we'll talk."

Just like a girl. Fight first, actual conversation later.

"I have been attacked and fought the Negaverse you know." Once but it counted. Even though mostly all he'd done was dodge attacks until the girl had given up. He saw no point in fighting them, not when he wasn't going to kill them. They'd just come back for more once they were healed and he -wasn't- going to kill them.

"You want me to get in a fist fight with you ... really?" That just seemed stupid to him. She was obliviously more powerful than him, at least in terms of magic, so why bother trying to beat him up?

"I want you to defend yourself." Her pretty lips curled into an ugly snarl of a look as she flashed him a glare. "I want you to realize this isn't a game, or a competition. It's not just about the youma you dust for cash. It's serious and there are too many stupid senshi out there who don't realize things like that..." At least partially because they didn't know any better, but she wasn't going to add that on.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 08, 2011 10:27 am

"Until you start killing them one by one it's not serious." He'd yet to see a senshi kill one of their oh-so-hated enemies. He hadn't heard of them doing so either. Which meant that they weren'ts erious about anything but shoving their ideals down the Negaverse's throat and hoping they came around.

"Maybe you just have different priorities than me honey. I do what i can to protect everyone here from the youma or from being drained by the Negaverse. I don't have any desire to commit murder though and you trying to punch me isn't going to make me any more likely to. But ..."

He shifted and settled his balance into a better position to fight. "If you're that determined to try to beat me up, come try"

"It isn't serious because we're killing them. It's serious because they're killing us." Her nostrils flared, eyes flashing darkly as she threw herself at him. It was infuriating how everyone seemed to think that just because she thought that the Negaverse needed to be stopped that she was all for committing murder; not just Negas themselves, but other senshi for godsakes.

It was time to take one of her own down a peg and she didn't mean to use her powers to do so, either; couldn't even if she wanted to unless he took a swing first.

"And how do you ..." he grunted slightly as he ducked her swing. "Expect to stop them without killing them hm?" He caught the next blow on his arm and knew there'd be a bruise there come morning. He really didn't like these odds.

He'd never gotten into physical fighting, preferring to use his magic, and it was a lot harder to dodge someone his own size. It didn't help either that she seemed to be determined to rip him a new one for no reason.

Setting his jaw he ducked quickly and scissored out a leg hoping to knock hers out from under her.

The slightest trace of a grin curved the corners of her mouth as his leg caught hers. She let herself fall to the ground, her shoulder catching most of her weight as she landed hard. Even the wince from the pain wasn't enough to take the impish light from her eyes as she rolled over, hands extended as a sphere of dark energy formed between her fingertips.

"Revenge." Corvus let loose a blast of her regular attack, aiming for just above his shoulder; not intending to do anything more than clip him, if anything. Finally, he seemed ready to properly dance.
