Homework. Quite possibly the most ingenious invention of the humans. From the perspective of a resident of Halloween, anyway.
Johan felt his heart speed up as he glanced once again over his shoulder. The hunchback was still following him! He whipped his head back forward, and hastened his steps, hoping that if he ignored him long enough, the boil might go away.
Why, why, why, oh why did he have to paired to Cristof? Jaw clenched, the grim Sorcerer was seeing purple-tinged visions of exploding books with ruddy messages scrawled across the leaves. It had to be fate. The pair of them were doomed to misadventure. And the recent changes the hunchback had undergone weren't helping Johan's sense of foreboding. Considering Christofs penchant for carrying around 'spare' body parts, and how eager he'd seemed to operate on Amrita's hands, Johan was convinced the hunchback had decided give himself a few upgrades. And he did not want to know who the donors were.
As they crossed the campus grounds, brittle, dead leaves crunching underfoot, Johan felt the last vestige of hope die a horrible death as the path to the Undead Dorms fell behind them. Christof had to be following him. Would he follow Johan all the way back to his room? Maybe he could slip inside, close the door, and pretend the hunchback wasn't there? Not likely.
The biggest problem here was: this was homework. He couldn't ignore Christof if he wanted to complete the assignment. He held up the jar of fuzzy dust bunnies. Three pairs of eyes stared back, one looking a great deal soggier, and disgruntled than the others. He gave the jar a vindictive shake, and stuffed it back into his robe. He honestly had no idea what they were supposed to learn from these things, anyway.

Christof, meanwhile, was under the impression that they were off to do homework. He was content to loom behind the reaper until they could stop long enough for him to write. He hoped he wasn't still sore after all of their Christmas mishaps- They had fought well together, he had thought! Mister Johan struck him as A Very Diligent Person, which was something the hunchback admired in a person. Hopefully the assignment would go well and they'd get to clear the air a bit.
They were approaching the Reaper Dorms and the sorcerer hadn't so much as said Hello, Isn't This Interesting, and he was starting to second guess himself. Well. Maybe he just wanted to get down to business. When he glanced back at him, Christof merely smiled, lifting his own jar of trampled, dazed dustbunnies with a hopeful expression.

Well, there was nothing for it, he would simply have to resign himself to his fate, Johan thought, as Christof waved his jar of bunnies at the Reaper. And a choice between the Undead dorms and the Reaper dorms wasn't really much of a choice at all. At least he'd have some control of the situation in his own room.
He hoped.
Johan squared his shoulders and strode up the steps to the front doors of the Reapers Dorm, and opened them. Finally acknowledging the hunchback, he motioned Christof to step inside.

Shyness set in, and the hunchback crept into the room to meekly brows the inside of the room... he had never been in the Reaper dorms before, and it was fascinating. They were certainly nicer than the Undead dorms, or at least his room anyway, but most things were- not quite as posh as Mistress or Barth's rooms, but that was to be expected. He made his way to the nearest table, eyeing rows of bookshelves before setting his bottle down.

Johan closed the doors behind them, and set his bottle of living dust on the table beside Christofs'. He hastily sketched a rune in the air that sent the books he'd left open that morning flying to their spots on the shelves. When the last tome thudded home, Johan cleared his throat as he swept the room circumspectly for anything else that should be put out of sight before laying his notebook and pencils on the table. "Vell. If you vould haf a seat, ve can get to vork." he said, sending an extra chair skidding over the floor to rest at Christofs' side with another rune. He took his own seat, and opened his notebook to the page he'd been writing on in class. "I had some trouble vith vone of the bunnies, but they don't seem to be much of a match for the frog... things from earlier." Johan glared at the soggy one in his jar, it glared right back at him. "They are very quick." Johan muttered, and pulled out the jar with his psuedo-human frog/lizard, setting it down with a plop beside the other jars. "Hopefully, this vill inspire them to behave."

Christof jumped as the books suddenly flew of their own accord, gaping at the shelves as he tried to catch one (unsuccessfully) as it fluttered past him. His attention was quickly diverted to the chair, hands twisting as he stepped towards it politely. Right, right! Homework! He glanced over at the two jars, but Johan's at least seemed to be fairing better than his own... he was equipped this time, at least, with his own notebook, shuffling it from his satchel as he leaned on the table to write:
Stomped on mine.
Still moving, though.
Might recover?
