The above is a lovely map of the Surrounding, provided by the joint efforts of shibrogane and Marushii! If you need more information on specific locations, keep on reading.

. : : How to Mark Threads : : .

There are a lot of different locations involved in this meta. In order to keep things orderly, we have created a set of codes that should be used to mark ALL threads.

For generic RPs that take place at the outposts:

[VO] = [Virgo Outpost]
[LO] = [Leo Outpost]
[AO] = [Aquarius Outpost]
[CO] = [Chronos Outpost]

This could be anything from sitting on your cot talking to a friend about life back home to cleaning up the stairs on the second floor. Most RPs will probably have these tags.

For RPs that take place in a specific outpost location:

[VI] = [Virgo Infirmary]
[LK] = [Leo Kitchens]
[AR] = [Aquarius Records]
[CH] = [Chronos Headquarters]

For RPs in other locations that are outlined in this thread:

[CO-Ananke] = [Chronos Outpost, Temple of Ananke]

Basically, this is just supposed to give everyone a sense of where people are. You can devise your own logical way of writing the tags for this particular group. Just make sure you include the outpost at the beginning. If it is outside of an outpost, you should have for Surrounding in the place of the name of the outpost.

For RPs in random locations that are not specified anywhere:

[SS] = Surrounding Solo
[SR] = Surrounding Regular
[SB] = Surrounding Battle

THE MAJOR HUBS

The Infirmary at Virgo Outpost
++++The first floor of Virgo's Outpost has been converted into an infirmary due to the easy availability of water and the large amount of open space. Large amounts of debris have been swept out by the able-bodied, and cots are set up in rows between the Doric columns. Near the bath in the center of the hall (which is filled with clean, potable water) there is a collection of buckets--most of them plastic and filched from parents' gardening sheds--towels, and washcloths.
++++Virgo Outpost was never meant to hold so many people, so she has no dedicated medical wing. However, she seems to have a large amount of tools that someone with professional medical training may find useful. Even beyond that, her Outpost has special properties--the sheer innocence and purity of the place boosts a civilian's healing factor tenfold, increasing the mending of their wounds by a ridiculous amount. Only, there isn't exactly much privacy--Virgo's first story only has walls on two sides, facing east and west. At least you have a lovely view of space?

The Kitchens at Leo Outpost
++++There are very impressive kitchens and dining rooms on the third floor. There's also a small medical wing and washrooms, but the kitchens and dining rooms dominate. More importantly, they're functional! Sure, everyone is going to have to work together to clear away the rubble and get things cleaned up, but once they do, the dining rooms are bright, beautiful places to behold.
++++Anyone is welcome in the kitchens or dining rooms at any time, and the supplies are free range. However, Soldier Leo asks that if you're going to cook, you cook enough for everyone -- so be prepared to work together and distribute the fruits of your labor to the group as a whole.
++++Leo will be setting up a cooking schedule (one that includes himself!) so there won't be any arguments about whose turn it is to cook and whose turn it is to do dishes and clean-up. Someone's going to be doing something every day, so it's important to remember that we're all in this together! Oh yeah, and don't neglect your duties cleaning up the first two floors in favor of lazing around on the third floor... since you're all stuck here, you might as well try to make it feel more like home, right?

The Headquarters at Chronos Outpost
++++The Castle, as it did in the past, serves as the main fort in the Surrounding. The throne room on the first floor of the Castle has been made into the official Headquarters, where Senshi; both White Moon and Zodiac, may gather and organize themselves. There is a large whiteboard there for anyone to put up general notices, like for who wants to return to DC for supplies, and whose shift it is to take Senshi back and forth. Chronos will be checking it every once in a while and flitting in between Outposts. Active Outposts can also be contacted from the Towers, although only the Towers belonging to active Zodiacs are accessible. At least one Zodiac/Season is needed to activate the communication system.
++++The Headquarters is basically for the able-bodied to do something in the time they are stuck in the Surrounding; to help out in clearing up the rubble and cleaning up the place. The gift room is also a major room of interest, especially for the Senshi.

The Records Office at Aquarius Outpost
++++Due to the lack of useful facilities (thousands of unreadable books may be interesting, but not useful), Aquarius Outpost has been designated the base of logistical operations. What does this mean? Sailor Aquarius and the people working at the outpost will be in charge of gathering and organizing information. Keeping in touch with people at other outposts is crucial for this, to have constant updates both on the status of individual people, and on the needs of each outpost. So while people might work at Aquarius Outpost, they could easily be found elsewhere, checking to make sure the kitchens have enough food, the infirmary has enough medicine, and everybody's in relatively good shape.
++++When not gathering information, there's a lot of cleaning to be done, and Aquarius will try to organize things so that people take turns doing different jobs. It's no fun doing research if you're constantly tripping over those unreadable books, so please remember to do your part!

Broken Paths
xxxx The Surrounding is fractured or downright shattered in many areas that one must be very careful when crossing. The rainbow road falls away in pieces (imagine a very, very large pothole!!) with only the very edges being passable.
xxxxThe broken, but passable sections comprise of:
  • Between Virgo and Libra Outposts
  • Between Scorpio and Sagittarius Outposts
  • Between Sagittarius and Capricorn Outposts
  • Between Capricorn and Aquarius Outposts
  • Between Aries and Taurus Outposts
xxxxThe impassible sections are:
  • Between Pisces and Aries
  • Between Taurus and Gemini

Forbidden Outposts
xxxxMany Zodiacs have gone missing or been killed in Destiny City's secret war. Their outposts are forbidden to outsiders; attempts to enter will be met harshly by any Zodiac who happens to find you trying to break the opalescent pink shield. You can see only vague shapes within the shield, so there's no telling what they contain. The Forbidden outposts are:
  • Aries
  • Taurus
  • Cancer
  • Libra
  • Scorpio
  • Sagittarius
  • Capricorn
  • Pisces

The Groves at Virgo Outpost
xxxxSurrounding the marble edifice of Temple Virgo are large trees, thousands of years old. Through whatever magic preserves the Outpost, they still live, but appear to be stuck in an eternal autumn. Their ancient roots lend themselves well to hiding and looking out at the stars. You might also be able to use them to get into the forbidden fourth floor without excavating the stairwell, or as an alternate entry point for any of the higher floors if you want to avoid being made to fetch and carry.

The Altar at Virgo Outpost
xxxxAt the back of Temple Virgo is a small altar with gutters running along the sides. It is Virgo's particular project to restore this area, and find the pieces that are scattered within the Groves.

The Mirror Pools
xxxxFalling along the rainbow pathway somewhere between Chronos Outpost and Gemini Outpost, there is a collection of three large, floating pools. They are attached to the side of the main road by a veranda-like tile. The first pool is the shallowest, a wading pool that would reach the knees of someone of average height when standing. The other two are side-by-side directly behind it, attached by sloping beach-style entrances where water can trickle from one pool into the other. These two pools increase in depth, the largest being ten feet deep at its lowest point.
xxxxThis is the home-away-from-home for Sailor Neso, Zodiac Handmaiden of Summer. It was built for him ages ago in order to remind him of his home celestial body. Bright green patches of grass once lined the pools with tall palm tree-like foliage sprouting out of the ground. In old times, bright blue fruit hung from these branches, but now, the trees are dead, dried out husks and the grass is now just dirt. All that remains is the three glimmering, glittery pools with water clearer than the sky itself.
