Parara had not always been such a cautious creature, indeed she had been born rather whimsical, prone to daydreams and romantic notions that had eventually lead her astray in life. As it turned out not all Knights are white ones and life rarely if ever followed that oh so sweet path to happily ever after that the stories of youth always seemed to indicate. She could only be thankful that she'd managed to see the true nature of things before prying herself away from that ill fated knight had been to difficult to bear, before any unfortunate actions had given rise to consequences that might have kept her from leaving.
No, she had learned a lot in the passing of years, she'd learned to take care of herself and while the world might not be a fairy tale she'd found enough kindness in it to give her hope for the future, even if she'd also found enough cruelty to teach her caution. So it was that when she'd spotted a hint of movement glimmering in the heat waves across the horizon Parara had crept off the well used game trail a bit and found herself a nice place to lay and watch as this stranger approached. The purple leopard was not afraid of the stranger, indeed she generally liked the conversations she had with those who passed by the lands she'd come to call 'home' ...but she wasn't silly enough to go bounding up and introduce herself right off the bat either. Even if a little bit of company would be most wonderfully appreciated right about now - it had been a while since the last visitor - and as much as she hated to admit it Parara was getting just a touch lonely.

His 'land' was vast and he would try to make himself unseen til night fall but today.. the lands were equally pressing in the morning. While lots of prey animals were out, he was in a slow pace scoping out his 'territory' for the day. His long dragging steps, he wasn't going to hunt today.. he had something already planned but as his thoughts got ahold of him, the smell of someone in his territory made him halt. A female.. He lifted his chin to inhale the scent then looked around for it and spotted her not moments later.
Let's see if she would cower away, let's see what kind she was... he'd met so many that they were starting to categorize them in types. His little black book. Composed and almost seemingly unmoved from her presence, he moved to get a better view of her. Dipping in to the tall grass. With his markings, sometimes he could get away with being unseen for some time then 'pop' up out of no where. He could stroll over and prop up on top of a rock and look about.. scanning. Not for her but others if she were in a company, he would hate being interrupted after all.
When he looked, he saw a herd of wildebeast upon the horizon.. moving in a river like fashion down a hill not to far away. He eyed them for a moment, Springbok bouncing around every so often between them.. He appreciated such grace, agility and strength and when he killed- he would thank them.

He had spotted her, Parara was sure of it when the black and white male stopped to scent the air and then turned his boldly marked face straight towards her. Well it wasn't surprising she supposed - she had not gone to any great lengths to hide herself...merely set off a way to watch him get closer before he noticed her. His strides had been slow and relaxed and now when he looked at her she did not detect any sign of open hostility. A bit of curiosity perhaps..maybe some judgement but it was hard to tell.
And then he was dipping into the grass again his coloration - unlike her own - helped with such things and Parara sat up so that she might track his movements through the swaying grass as best she could. To be honest she didn't think there was much of a point to this sizing up anymore, they had both seen one another..neither had run off or attacked on sight and so the initial phase of strangers meeting had already been passed. Besides...he was an attractive and strangely alluring seeming beast, even if she had yet to speak with him. First impressions and all that.
"Hello" She called out to the male, turning her head towards the direction she thought him to be in only to see him pop up on top of a rock not to far off, well she'd been close with her guess. He seemed to be looking for something, though she wasn't sure what. Picking herself up off her haunches she padded closer to the rock and looked up at him "Are you looking for someone?"

Would he have said no? Would that be a lie? It was too soon for him to really say the truth or a lie, so he turned to her. Then sat with a thud as his ears fanned back. Starring at her now from a closer view. It was nice to see a female around these parts of his own kind. It'd been hard for him to find common ground with others, well. After the nights were through that is.
"Hello to you.." His voice was thickly masculine yet soothing and dark all at once. Thoughs deep eyes looking through hers. "Alone?" He questioned when he leaped down the rock with grace to close the gap between them.. if he could help it, he loved to be in another's company.. and in close contact when he could.. Circling around her with a slowness to his pace.. Not to intimidate her but to lightly brush his tail 'absently' at her paws or anywhere it touched 'on its own'.
"Dangerous for your coat to be out in the morning... no?" Pacing his words out and voice as calm and soothing as he had spoke prior to this. Lifting his head when the unsettling move of the wildebeest beyond them to the north, the rumble is what he also had to keep note of. They weren't head their way but just in case.. just in case. Stopping when he was in front of her again. Already looked her up and down, some muscle, well groomed. He noted.

When he did not answer her question and merely changed the subject Parara had to conclude that he wasn't looking for anyone after all, that was a relief of sorts - it was never good to run across someone looking for a missing family member or friend, such conversations were generally far more depressing then anything anything else and Parara was not of a mind to be depressed today. Of course when he asked if she was alone she had to consider the possibility that he had been looking to ensure she didn't have hidden friends scattered about. Well there was nothing wrong with being cautious she told herself and he seemed friendly enough. His voice matched the rest of him perfectly as far as Parara was concerned, the gods had been in a good mood when they designed this particular male.
"Generally" She told him truthfully "It is hard to find decent company sometimes" Parara shared though she wasn't sure what exactly had prompted her to revel such a thought to a perfect stranger, turning her head to watch him as he paced about her, his dark tail brushing her hide now and again. Normally such a movement was enough to make her just a touch nervous..but she wasn't sensing any sort of hostility from this dark male, rather he just seemed friendly. Perhaps she was lonelier then she was willing to admit. Squinting up at the sun Parara chuckled slightly "It is not to bad in the early mornings..nor the evenings but such a pale coat makes it hard to hunt in the dark of night - I'll find shade for the worst part of the day. Surely your dark hide doesn't make life pleasant when the sun is at its hottest either?" And she had a feeling his pretty white face would burn just as quickly as her own pale hide was capable of doing .

"So you and have similar wants. No?" That ease of mystery setting around him.. how he knew what you wanted, was what made being around him that much more intense. "It's a shame that you don't have an escort here.. a beautiful leopard should not be seen alone. You get lonely around these parts.. that I know." Nods as he hunched his body down in to a sit and looked around then at her. Without his attention wavering too far from her. "It's taxing but I've learned ways to make it less painful.. I can show you them later. For now.." He cracked his paws and lifted himself again..
"Hungry?" He offered, though rarely he did if ever. "Maybe we could use each other for some company. I bid to be a good host, after all, it is not polite to leave a beautiful leopard like you all alone. Maybe later find some shelter?" Trying to be helpful, and even attentive. Something that was instilled in him as he was apart of the very large pride.. devoted to one another's safety and care. He still had not shaken this out, even if years had passed.
