About a month or so ago, I think I had an encounter with Hera. Anyway, I was pretty ignorant of who Hera was when I encountered her but she showed me some of her symbols to demonstrate that she was who she said she was. She showed me a scepter with a lily on it and a cuckoo. I looked up more about her on Theoi and sure enough those are the symbols associated with her and her personality described was consistent with what I encountered.

Anyway this doesn't convert me away from Christianity but it does answer some questions I have been having concerning such as if other gods exist. Anyway I'd thought I share.

It was late at night and I was awake at work. I was meditating and basically asking for some sort of help.

She said that she would give me her blessings as a reward to being faithful to my wife to be for so long despite her illness. The condition to receive her blessings I would be that I continue to remain faithful to my fiancee and that I try to help those that have marital problems when and if I encounter them.

Worship in my tradition is defined as emulation of the Christ. Since the Greek Gods aren't too big on people trying to emulate them I'm not breaking my vows. Plus the conditions she's offered don't contradict any stances of my religion as far as I can tell.

I am open to the fact that this could have been all in my head and a psychological confirmation to myself that things were going to change for the better in the future. The only thing that keeps me from passing it off as such is the fact that I'm ignorant about anything about Hera yet here I was "seeing" the symbols associated with her.

Hera seems like a fascinating deity. In a lot of Greek myths she can be seen as something of an antagonist, because of her jealousy of Zeus' love affairs, which result in her exacting revenge on his lovers. Yet she is the Queen of the gods and the goddess of marriage, so we know there must be so much more depth to her than what we see in some of those stories.
With what you've said, it sounds like you've gotten to see for yourself the kind, caring side of Hera, which seems so neglected by mythology. I think you're very lucky. Please let us know if she contacts you again, I'm curious to hear more.

I like what I know of Hera, but I've had no real interactions with her. It was interesting and encouraging to read about your experience. I'm glad she's blessed you like this.
