Lorianda, Lori to those who knew her better, was sitting waiting outside one of the biggest shops in town. Her fur was clean and glimmering, a pair of sunglasses hid her eyes from those around her, she was primped and ready to 'troll the mall' as the saying went. The only thing missing from this picture was her once ever present, best friend, childhood favorite, and perfect confidant, Caleb. He was the perfect bestie, always punctual, always up for shopping no matter where Lori wanted to go. Any female would have loved him, good looking, snappy dresser, great fashion advice, and the greatest person for keeping secrets.
She smirked, remembering their first meeting, he'd been so meek and small, so delicate, she'd thought he was a girl to begin with, but they became fast friends, and she would never ever take it for granted.
Her tail twitched as the clock ticked away in the background, Caleb was never this late. She was starting to worry. What if something happened like the old days, some gigantic male pushing him down because he was too pretty to be a boy. Irritation ruffled her fur, Five more minutes and I'm going to have to go tear apart the entire downtown area. Her fur smoothed and she waited, counting the seconds in her head before she'd take off to go find her dearest friend.

Caleb ran up to the meeting place, taking in big gasps for air as he smoothed out his hair and ran his front paws under his eyes quickly, smoothing out the makeup he spent countless minutes on each morning. "I'm so sorry Lori! I got...caught up," he lied. Truth be told, he was with his new boyfriend, Konani, and time had gotten past them.
He was meaning to tell Lori, in fact, he had meant to call her, but he had been so swept up in early love that he nearly forgot about his friendships with anyone really. He wondered where Lavan was briefly. He noticed he had dropped off the face of the earth, and with that alien, it was entirely possible actually... Wow...he really hadn't been with it recently.

She saw her friend, racing to get there, and shook her head, Caught up?, She arched a brow at him, as he smoothed himself out, "Well, he must be hung like a horse to keep you this late." She wasn't exactly the most proper of noodles when it came to her jokes, and Caleb had often been the butt of many a joke, especially his love life since she had a terrible tendency to get far too involved in Caleb's romances. It wasn't like it was a bad thing, and he was mostly used to her crass nature when it came to his love life.
"So, lattes or Italian Sodas at Margret's?" Obviously, there was going to be a long conversation, since she knew he had news. They hadn't talked in so long she felt like she was going to burst. She had to tell him about the house of ravers and demons she'd moved into, it was a rather interesting experience for her, but not a single one of them caught her fancy at all, which was unusual for her.
Lori's nose twitched and suddenly she was beside Caleb sniffing him intently, she pulled back, her glasses falling down her nose as she looked at him in surprise, "You have not been telling me something, and I can smell it on you, Cali." She rarely called him that in public, unless it was an extreme circumstance, and if her nose was right, he was drenched in the scent of another male.

Caleb was quite used to his best friend's strong words and sarcasm, but when in reference to Konani as being hung like a horse, it almost made him feel dirty.
"W-we haven't gotten there yet..." he said softly, a light blush creeping into his cheeks, darkening the already painted, artificial blush present. He sighed, knowing that she'd ask for every detail far and wide. He may as well enjoy his time... "I'm thinking lattes. With lots of caramel shots...." It wasn't that he didn't enjoy Lori's time, he surely did, otherwise he wouldn't be here. He just felt a bit...nervous... Konani wasn't like Lori. She was sexy, suave and self assured. Konani was soft, playful and a warm heart. He loved Caleb... At least, Caleb thought so. Lori seemed to have a strange outlook on true love and mating, at least, that's how Caleb felt about her.
"Come on, let's go. I've got a lot to tell you." He ushered her into the shopping mall, trying to think of a way to make this easy...

Caleb's reaction made her regret what she said just a little, and answering that there was someone, she sighed. So she'd made him feel bad again. She was really good at doing that. She smiled as she was ushered in. She'd known Caleb for a long long time, and could tell when he was head over paws for someone...and this was the worst case already. Caleb smelled like he was in love.
"No kidding." It was a dry remark, but she smirked in her usual way, and allowed him to move her towards the shop they adored. She ordered for herself, caramel and chocolate shots in the quadruplicate for herself and once Caleb ordered she paid for the whole thing. She'd been the one to call, it was her treat.
She stretched a bit and flipped her glasses up to sit on her head, and looked around for a nice comfy secluded area where Caleb wouldn't feel like he was airing his entire love life to the public at large. Though she was crass, she was considerate to her best friend, she always had been, and always would be, "So, you wanna wait till the drinks are here to start spilling, or would you prefer to divulge the details now?"

Caleb looked about the room, secretly thankful that Lori had found a nice corner for them to sit in. He sat down, setting into his seat, watching Lori remove her sunglasses.
"I can just start. What all do you want to know?" He looked over at the workers, making their drinks, hoping they didn't mess his up and put normal milk in it. He hated that. Besides, it was completely wasted calories he did NOT need.

Lori smirked, "Well, first how'd you meet him, and what's his name, what's he look like so I know exactly who to maim if he ever does anything stupid and breaks your heart." Sure she was crass, but Caleb was like a little sister she never had...or perhaps a twin she should have had. So she'd be protective like she always was, but she took to staying out of it until after Caleb was in the "eat ice cream and carbs till I explode" stage. This was obviously a budding romance, and he seemed happy. Happy enough to forget to even call his best friend, so it was a good sign.
