It was getting dark, and a cool wind ruffled Idris' tan fur. She was stretched out next to a tree, licking her paw after a successful hunt, settling herself apart from the other lionesses. Despite the comfort of the moment, and how calm she looked, her mind wasn't at ease. A small cub missing; nabbed by the hyenas apparently. And more recently, a youth dead; also by hyenas. Everything Tungiza had promised seemed to be falling apart... She needed a space to think about what part she might play in the mess she had unknowingly been invited into.

Something big was going to happen, and soon. It was just a matter of time.

A small path started to form as the lion impatiently paced back in forth his tail twitching in agitation as a low rumble sounded deep within his thoart. How could they! He clenched his muzzle tightly as he dug his claws into the dirt anything could be happening to Hime yet he was left to do nothing but babysit.

"How could they know...." he muttered under his breathe as Jambazi closed his eyes tightly. The faint hint of fresh dirt as he turned his back on the mounds that once held the former love of their parents still lingered he couldn't let the same happen to her.

He had to go. Opening his eyes with a darken gaze he left the rut he had been forming looking for a particular lioness to aid him.

Stretching out along the ground still warm from the day's sun, contrasting to the cool breeze, she closed her eyes and let her mind drift. It was a quiet night, and she caught the youth's scent before she heard his paws. An eye cracked open and caught sight of the boy in the distance. What was he doing out here alone? He seemed to be looking for something, his stride determined. Stretching her paws out, she sighed and lifted her head. "Hey! Boy!" She called, getting to her feet and heading over.

As she got closer, she realized who it was. The brother of the missing cub. "What are you doing out here?" She demanded, looking back to where the rest of the pride was. "It's dangerous for you to be this far from the others." Things were already a mess in the pride. They didn't need another cub attacked.

"I am not a boy." Jambazi replied flatly he was almost an adult or at least at this point of raising himself and his sisters he didn't appreciate being looked down upon. Biting his lower to the point that it broke the skin filling his mouth with blood he regretted is own words. Wincing from his own stupid mistake he shook his head swallowing what he could down.

"Sorry I shouldn't say that but I need your help. I know you don't know me but." Looking over his shoulder he looked back where the cubs remained a worried expression lingered on his face.

"Please my sister needs my help can... Can you please watch over the cubs." Jambazi asked hanging his head low keeping his eyes on her expression. H e didn't know her personally however he did recognize her from being around the pride.

Hearing the quick retort, she couldn't help but smirk at the youth. "Fine. What do you want, girl?" She understood his desire to correct her, but she had to point out that he could have phrased it better. Still, she nodded in acknowledgement to his apology before openly staring at his request.

"You want to go off... by yourself... into the mouths of the hyenas?" She growled, staring hard at him, judging what was in his head. The problem was, he was going after his little sister, and she knew that her brother would have done the same for her. Still, she had to make sure. ".....You do realize they won't hesitate to kill you if they see you. One mistake could be your end. And possibly hers."

Jambazi's ears flattened as the lioness called him a girl, he really didn't have time for such trivial little word games. It irked him that his impatient like behave was starting to show its edge along with his own emotions yet the more time he wasted the more time he was losing a chance to find his sister.

"I don't have a choice I can't just sit here and just wait when she is in trouble SHE NEEDS ME!" His voice was louder than he had anticipated with the edged to the point that he was yelling at her. He started to pace back and forth his ears still flatten as a growl sounded from his throat and his tail twitched in an agitated manner. "What do I do then." He snarled but then paused from his pacing, his tail stopped moving and his face dropped into a weary appearance.

"What can I do but at least go to her side." He replied softly almost as if in a whisper.

Her ears twitched as Jambazi's voice rose and fell, but her expression never wavered. His demeanor was changing so often that she wasn't certain he would be able to fulfill what he wanted to do. He had the spark within him, but the flame was still small... Too small?

"What you can do is go back and watch over the remaining cubs like you were told and let the adults get your sister back." She said firmly. Then, her tone softened a touch and her head turned slightly to the side. "Or, you can remember that she is your sister, and you are her brother, and that you are the only one she wants to see again."

Her gaze rehardened and she faced the boy again. "You can also remember that you are still young, and, if I'm correct, you still have a sister here who needs you as much as the one missing. You finding your missing sister on your own is a longshot. You're no good to either of them if you don't come back alive." She straightened up, and let her posture relax and shrugged her shoulders as though they were simply talking about the weather. "Make your choice though. I won't make it for you."

And then she turned and walked away. She couldn't outright tell the boy to go search for his sister. That was a suicide mission for the youth. But, she had seen that he wouldn't sit still if she had told him to stay. He would have gone back to the cubs, felt his anger build up again, and then just snuck off without talking to anyone. She wasn't going to take responsibility for his choices though. It was all on him. At least now he might walk with a more careful step, if he did choose to continue on.
