 Ah, that was so much better. After a short rest and some splashing in the stone fountains to wash off the dried blood, Karoko was ready to show his girl the town!
He just hoped those nasty foxes hadn't called in back up.

 Amy was waiting in the city, pressed against the building. Karoko had cared for himself and she was waiting for him. She wanted to go home, oh she liked being near Karoko, he was a good friend, but she was scared of the city.
Her first impression of it was scary and loud and violent, but Karoko had managed to keep her put.... for now. She was ready to leave if he didn't find a way to change her opinion. The city was scary!

Hm... His side had begun hurting a bit more when he left Amy to clean up. Proof she was helpful, whether she wanted to admit or not, the stubborn little angel.
He made sure to trot heavily when returned to Amy's side, humming a tune so she could hear and identify his voice. Out in the wild, she could catch his scent a mile away. In the city...? It's a wonder she had made it this far. She was strong, he admired. "Hey, babe. You doing ok? I was thinking we could hit up a few vendors on the streets first..." Oh, the things he wanted her to try!

Amy's ears flicked as she heard his humming, glad he had done so. She would have heard his foot-steps, but his scent would be masked by the scent of the city. Her head raised, greeting him with a faint flick of her tail, and then lowered her head as she concentrated on not panicking and begging to go home.
She wanted to curl into Karoko, but would he reject that? Would he flinch away? He was sweet, so far, so she didn't know how'd he react. She decided to just move her paw to touch his tail, and nod.
"Okay, we can try some things."

Smiling, Karo wagged his tail up and down against Amy's leg. Would he ever stop admiring her spirit? He really hoped not.
"Come on," He moved so that his side touched hers and her head was at his shoulder, so he could keep her close and safe and still steer her out of a humans way if need be. "I've got you by the buildings, I'm between you and the street so you don't have to worry." They were still close to the outermost part of the actual city, so the streets weren't too busy. The first vendor they came to should be a hot link stand, if he remembered this way correctly.
"Hey, close your eyes, and yes I know what you're thinking but close them anyway, and concentrate on your nose. Let me guide you, just walk and smell, tell me when you pick up the scent of food stuffs."

"What..."
Her voice lowered slightly. Was he serious? Though, she kept her doubts back, closed her eyes (she had forgotten she could do that) and followed him. Nothing changed, her focus was still on the area around her, like always.
As she smelled food and scents and metal her tail flicked to the side, eyes still closed. "Why did you tell me to close my eyes?" She asked the male, wondering if he wanted to hide that she was blind. No, Karoko was not like that.

"Mental thing." Karo replied. "Are you focusing? You don't look like you're focusing, Missy Spider Web~" He gave her nose a playful lick. "The goal here is for you to try and sort through the chaos. In the wilderness its easy, you grew up there, you've gotten fairly used to it without sight. Now, here, you are in new territory, like nothing you've ever experienced." Ah, there's the hot links.
"Amy." He stopped them within his sight of the stand, hoping she'd be able to pick up the scent and distinguish it from the rest of the world around them. "What do you smell? Focus, what is ahead of us right now?"

Her ears went back when he brought her to a stand, smelling only metal. Metal and gas and smoke.... She didn't want to be here anymore. However, she did as told, sitting there and silently trying to focus.
Metal. She hated it. Her ears went back, again. It didn't smell like Karoko's metal, no, that smelled like metal with a hint of him. The city smelled terrible, ugly. But she waited. Suddenly one ear perked up, head tilting.
"Meat?"

"YES!" Karo squeaked, spinning a circle. "Yes, meat! See? I knew you could do it! I knew you could pick up specific scents if you tried!!!" The male was so happy for her, he spun another circle.
"Come on, baby doll!" He chirped, brushing his tail against her front legs and leading her to the stand. When they got there, Karo looked up at the human and whined to get his attention. The human barked a greeting, saw the vixen beside Karo and smiled. A few more barks and the foxes had some juicy hot links at their paws. "Take a small bite at first," Karo instructed, moving Amy's paw to touch the link. "They can be a bit spicy~" Of course, he was used to and loved the spicy, so he promptly took a giant bite of his link.

Now, for a forest fox that rarely even encountered spicy food it was rather alarming to n** into the link and receive a blast of heat. She yelped, ears back briefly as she worked her tongue around the spice, cringing briefly when she heard the movement around her shift, a human had set down water for her and made a move to touch her head. Letting out a sharp twitch to avoid the touch she lapped up the water and tried again to eat the food, this time not to startled.
Hn. It wasn't bad. She wouldn't eat this a lot, but it wasn't disgusting. As long as she had water to lap up once in awhile it was fine.

Karoko couldn't help a chuckle. Out of everything they'd been through to get here, it was the spice that made her freak out! Lucky for them both this human was a friendly one, and Karo let himself be scratched behind the ears. "It's ok, Amy. He won't hurt you, I promise. Human touch takes some getting used to, haha, as do those links!" He scarfed the rest of his down, stole only one quick drink of water, and looked around for their next destination.
A cotton candy stand was right across the street, and since the metal things moved slow they could slip through easily... But... Ah, there. Karo spotted a modification stand about half a block away. Amy could see where he got his spider earring!

When she finished she tensed as the human tried to touch her, almost about to snarl just in fright but instead she lowered her ears, allowed the touch, and then moved away when the human was done, not wanting to tempt another touch.
Hm. Karoko was quiet and still. Was he looked at something? "What is it?" She asked, tense. She didn't smell other modifoxes, so....?

"Hm? Oh! Sorry!" Karoko chuckled again. He'd been so lost in thought he had forgotten to speak or make noise. "Are you done? We can go check out another vendor if you like! The one I got my earring from is right down the block!" Karo held out his paw, and the human wrapped a few links around it for the road. He'd known this human a while, and often brought random things from around the city to him as... payment of sorts. Mostly coin things from fountains or lost jewelry and the such. It held no value to Karo, but the human liked it.

"Okay." She mused, head turning to where she smelled him. Taking a step forward she snarled when the human moved towards Karoko, smelling his scent closer to him. However when the human seemed to not have harmed Karoko she relaxed, tail wagging back and forth.
"What else is there?" She asked, sniffing the air. She didn't smell other vendors nearby, well, at least not food.

Karo licked her gently on the cheek when she snarled. "Easy love, its alright." He knew she was scared, even if she wouldnt admit it. Heck, wild foxes that could see were scared of the city. The difference? Those foxes usually had their tail between their legs.
Karoko wanted to walk her around the city, take her to the city park, the square with the massive fountain, the arcades and clubs, and certainly the elementary school in the quieter part of the city.
First, though, the modification booth. He nudged Amy gently around the link vendor and led her to the next. They were greeted warmly by the human, who ruffled Karos hair and moved to ruffle Amys, but the fox quickly stopped him and licked Amys eyes. The human smiled and lowered a trey of his earrings to her paws, understanding right away and willing to accomadate her visit.
