Vynnessia bounce along the sidewalk, her eyes alight as she looked for her destination. A coffee shop that her mother had introduced her too while she was still young. From there on it had become her safe-haven and weekly hideout. A place where she could feel comfortable and really do what she enjoyed. People watching.
Of course, she probably should have watched where she was going. With her eyes darting from side to side trying to take in everything that was happening around her, she failed to see the other female walking towards her. Not until she had already ran face first into her and bounced back, scrambling to keep her balance.
"Sorry! I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going. I'm such an idiot. Are you okay?"

Bored. Bored, and everyone at home was either wangsting or doing gardening or something boring like that. Nanami was getting restless seeing the same faces over and over and over again. She had overheard Ailur discussing a coffee shop downtown, whoever, and she decided that since she had nothing better to do, she ought to check it out. Not that she was overly fond of coffee--she usually preferred tea. But hey, she had nothing better to do, and most coffee shops also offered tea, so why not try it?
She stared into the windows of the shops as she passed them--a boutique that sold bath supplies with cheerful rubber duckies in the window, a record store with the owner's tanuki curled up on a shelf, a bead shop with strings of glass and ceramic beads hanging in the window. She was so absorbed with the spectacle, and watching the other people as they passed, that she didn't notice the other female until she'd walked into her.
Startled, Nanami took a step back, rubbing her stinging nose. "Oops, sorry," she said automatically. When her ears registered what the stranger had said, she smiled ruefully. "Well, that makes two of us," she said. "I wasn't watching where I was going, either. I'm fine, how about you?"

She looked the other female over to make sure she was alright like she claimed. She was very pretty, Vynn had never seen such a wonderful combination of colors. It took her a moment to stop staring, nearly missing everything that had been said to her. "Its nothing! Honest. I'm alright. I'm just glad you're not hurt!" She flashed a smile and looked around. "I'm Vynnessia -Vynn for short- and I really am sorry for bumping into you."

"Nice to meet you, Vynnessia," she murmured. Vynnessia was certainly pretty--she had a nice combination of blue colors, at least. Nanami liked how...natural it looked. Her own appearance was very stylized. She'd hardly seen it anywhere else. "I'm Nanami. And trust me, I am really fine." She closed her eyes and beamed, ignoring the double-entendre present in her statement. So what? What was the harm in it? She was a big girl, after all, and old enough to look after herself. She opened her eyes again. "I'm sorry I got you concerned," she said. "I didn't mean to startle you by walking into you. I just kinda got distracted. I hope you aren't sorry you bumped into me," she added.

She seemed placated by Nanami's words. Confident now that no harm had been done to either party she turned her mind to other things. "Distracted? Were you looking at all of the neat shops too? That's what had my attention when I ran into you." She frowned and looked at the other female curiously. "Of course I'm sorry for bumping into you. But as long as you aren't hurt I'm glad!" She beamed at the last statement as if to emphasize her point.

"I've never been around this area of town," Nanami admitted. "So yeah, interesting shops. They've got a bead shop a block or two back that I think I'd like to check out again." She smiled at the other noodle's words. "Good," she said. "And no, I'm not hurt." She returned Vynnessia's smile with one of her own. If she had been as distracted as she was, then chances were she wasn't familiar with the area, or at least no more familiar than Nanami herself was. But it was worth a try, wasn't it? And Nanami wasn't the sort to be held down by worry of rejection. "I was looking for a coffee shop, actually," she explained. "I don't know if you know where it is. I forgot what it's called, unfortunately, something tropical-sounding, I think?" She looked up hopefully. As much as she liked looking around, her feet were starting to kill her.
