Souppi glanced down at his map. He was instantly able to tell that he had taken the scenic route here. This was the longest, most out the way route to the Flyterion Glades ever. He had even managed to go by Epheria Lakefront - and recoil in fear of the water - and practically shiver his hindquarters off while he strolled through Veralsidine Mountains.

He knew if he ever chose to go back home, he'd have tons of stories to tell his big brother.

Now, though, Souppi was starving. It was getting to the point where he honestly would've eaten anything. Even his paper map - described as "bite-sized" by the seller - was beginning to look appetizing.

He hadn't eaten since the night he left home. He had been so engrossed playing in the Catalia Glades with Rose and exploring Wysteria Forest with Asha that he had forgotten to eat.

Souppi sluggishly walked through the glades. He looked like a zombie. Sleep deprived, at least. He kept mumbling, "Food, food, food..." Like if he called it, food would come to him just like a good dog comes to its owner.

Souppi was certain his eyes were deceiving him, but he was certain he saw a chocolate bunny chase a slice of grasshopper cheesecake into the grass. I think - just this one time - that my stomach is bigger than my eyes.

He was worried when he saw her take a sudden spill. Since it sounded like she was fine, he thought what she had done did actually look fun and that he wanted to try it for himself. With all the pep he could muster, he skipped over to her.

He didn't mean to, but she did look funny on her belly like that, so he started laughing. "Heeheehee..." He stopped when he realized how rude he sounded and offered her his paw, so she could boost herself up to her feet. "I'm sorry Miss... Chocolate Rabbit, ma'am, may I please join you?"

"You're welcome!" Souppi was glad he was wrong this time. He liked gladiers much more than any kind of sweet. He laughed some more and then said, "If you insist, Lo it is." He knew it was okay to call others without using a title, if they said it was okay. It was the same way with Ball. "Thanks so much! I agree. So, what were you doing? What kind of game were you playing?" Now, he was so excited that he didn't notice his growling stomach.

It had been a while since someone had asked Souppi what he wanted to do. He usually just went with everyone else was doing. He thought and thought and finally decided. "How about hide-and-seek? It's been ages since I've played that.
"Oh, yes! I'm so hungry I could eat a horse - or an entire tree - but berries sound much tastier than those."

Souppi was wowed by Lo. She had even more energy than his older brother. He thought it was infectious too, because he didn't feel tired at all when he was around her.

He wasn't sure what a horse or tree would taste like. He imagined the one would be like chicken or fish, but bigger, and the other would be like black tea, but solid, like unsweetened ice cream that was frozen rock solid.

After he heard what she said next, he smiled and his ears and tail perked up happily. "Yes, you're right. It's not as much fun to play on an empty stomach. If you lead the way, then I can follow you."

Souppi ran after her. He was making good time, 'til he reached the hill. At first, he kept on running, but then, he started falling backwards, no matter how hard he gripped the ground. So, then he fluttered - He couldn't call what he did flying. He was so low to the ground and moved so slowly. - up the hill instead.

She hopped faster than he flew, so when he reached the top, she just looked like a blur in the corner of his eye. Still, he could hear her fine, so he ran towards her voice.

Just like she said, they were there. He stopped so suddenly, he left skid marks and almost fell flat on his face.

He was too tired to say anything. He just panted. His eyes widened at the sight of all the berries too.

He walked over to a bush and tried to decided which one to eat first. Maybe I should stick one of each in my mouth?

Souppi just stared at Lo with a look of amazement. He felt numb and excited all at once.

He was glad when she came back out. He looked down at the berry she brought and said, "Thank you! I'll have this one then." He ate it all in one bite. It wasn't firm and sour like the ones he normally ate. This was soft, juicy, and...sweet? "I-I-I..." He meant to say "I don't like like sweets.", but he was already over the hill. "Delicious! This is the best thing I have ever tasted IN MY LIFE!"

"I must have more! More of these!" He ran into a bush, emerged on top, and crawled around it and ate each berry she saw. He was like the earthworm of berries.
