Tag rushed into the studio, his suit sloppily thrown on and his tie gripped into his hands. Everyone was in a hurried state of panic as the hair and make up crew rushed towards him, pounding layers of foundation on his face.

“What the ******** happened?” Tag questioned as the producer, Ron Harrison, ran over.

“Its bad Tag, really bad,” he shook his head. “Police reports are coming in of dozens of people just vanishing in thin air. Nobody knows what the s**t is going on, people are in a panic.”

Senshi. Tag wasn’t sure how, but he knew they were responsible for this.

“Another terrorist scheme?” he asked.

“I don’t know, it seems the most logical,” Ron shrugged as Tag sighed. The make-up artist jabbed his eye with her eyeliner as a wardrobe woman toyed with his suit.

“Damn it Julie, careful not to poke an eye out,” he grumbled as he started to tie his own tie. He was supposed to spend the night with his son and was on his way to pick him up when he got the call to come into work. He called Chelsea to cancel, much to everyone’s disappointment. He loved spending time with his son, and as much as he loved working, he hated that it took him away from that time. “How many people are reported missing?”

“Right now that number is at 53,” Ron said in disbelief.

“Holy s**t,” he responded. He thought he had heard it all, but this? This was new. He had an eerie reminder of the sleeping curse from the summer before – but at least then the bodies were still around – still tangible. Who knows if these missing citizens will ever be found? “Keep me posted on that number. Is the teleprompter ready?”

“Its all typed up ready for you to go,” Ron nodded. “Julie, how long until he’s camera ready?”

“I’ll have him up in just a sec,” she said, applying the last bit of makeup to his chiseled face. “He’s good to go.”

She gave him a light tap on the a** and smiled. He really needed to stop sleeping with his coworkers.

He stepped onto his mark between the green screen and the camera, taking a moment to read the script on the prompter. He watched as the number of missing citizens changed to 54. 55.

The red light blinked on. He was live, the cameras were rolling.

“We’re sorry to interrupt your programming but Channel 6 is coming to you live with breaking urgent news. This is Tag Swagger reporting that this evening several dozen Destiny City citizens have vanished into thin air, their current whereabouts are unknown. The cause of these events are unclear, but we are reporting 56 missing…sorry, make that 57 people missing in Destiny City. We will be airing all night with all of the latest information and…the number has just been reported to have gone up to 58 people. 59 people missing in Destiny City.”

He paused, waiting for the number to go up. Thankfully, it never did.

There was a look of fear in Tag Swagger’s eyes in that broadcast. They were in the most uncertain times.
