User ImageRemi huffed. She hated wearing formal clothes. A suit was not flattering on her. It wouldn't be going too far for her to say she hated them more than she hated pesky trainers. And no doubt there'd be some of those in the crowd too. In their posh evening wear. With their bow-tie-sporting pokémon.
The sooner the keynote speaker confirmed or denied the rumours that she'd been able to harness the power of aura, allowing anyone to use the abilities just by donning a stupid headpiece with some strange goggle eyepieces, the sooner Remi could get out of there. At that moment, she didn't care whether it was with or without the speaker and her lucario assistant.
"Champaign?" a waiter asked, holding a tray up on his hand.
Remi snatched a glass, ready to down it in one go. "Don't mind if I do."
"Can I have your attention please, ladies and gentlemen? Please take your seats for our main event. We'll be starting very shortly."

Raide rested her chin on her hands, interlacing her fingers and waited for the presentation to start so that she could go ahead and get answers for some questions. She was situated at a table near the edge of the room, as her heels were damaging to her feet and she absolutely did not want anyone to spill any champaign on her fancy dress. If she wasn't going to drink it, she wasn't going to have any of it on her clothes, that was for sure.

Already she had been sitting there for a good while, wondering what exactly an aura did and why it was an event large enough to warrant all these expensive bells and whistles. ...And it looked like Raide was about to find out as a message came from the organizers and people began to shift over towards the seating area. Standing up, then stumbling a little as her feet protested, she followed the flow of the crowd to a seat much closer to where the presentation would be than she had been sitting before. Picking one at random (she just wanted to sit down) she placed her hands in her lap as she waited for the presentation to begin.

User ImageProfessor Juniper took the stage. She started talking about waves and perception and ambiguous images. Then after a good five minutes she brought the speech to a close to lots of clapping from clever people. Remi didn't have a clue what any of the jargon the Professor said meant either, but from all the clapping she figured the research had gone well.
"Arcky baby, I think we're on. Get the grunts to cover the exits. Seal the room. I'll usher the Professor through to you," Remi said.
"Aren't you supposed to call me Number Two?" Arc replied over the radio.
Remi was already on her way over to the stage to meet the Professor at the bottom of the steps. "Are you ready?" she asked in response to Arc.
"No,"
"So why are you talking back at me? Get moving, 'Number Two'," Remi snapped, under her breath. Straight away, then, she changed. She pulled on her persona and tapped one of the event staff on the shoulder. "Excuse me. John's asking for you, at the back of the room."
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'll... can you? Did he?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine," Remi said. She watched the guy walk away, then turned to focus on Professor Juniper, who was nearing the last step.
"Professor," a man butted in before Remi could talk. "I wonder if I might ask you a few questions?"
"Hey, Buddy. Uhm, that is, excuse me, but you'll have to wait," Remi said as she eased the guy away from her with her hand. "Professor, I'll lead you to the VIP area where you can discuss your findings further with your peers."
"I'm sorry, but am I not one of Professor Ivy's peers?" the old man asked.
"This is Professor Oak. Please, come with us," Professor Ivy said. She reached out and shook Oak's hand, then looked to Remi to lead the way.
Typical, she thought, as she forced a smile back to her lips. Two professors, talking gobbledygook, expecting one thing, getting another.
"Number One, we're ready. Say the word and we'll storm the room," Arc said.
Remi had to whisper her response, so that the professors wouldn't hear. "Don't you dare. We're doing this my way. Covertly. Stay out of sight. All you have to do is make sure the only people who leave the room are the professors and I. We're approaching the north-west door now."
"What do you mean 'professors'? We're only here for the lady," Arc replied.
Remi sighed. "Well we've got a tag-along."
"Excuse me?" Juniper asked.
"Hmm? Oh, nothing," Remi chirped. She ushered the professors to the door, then pushed it open for them to step out into the hallway, and into the custody of Arc. "Just this way."

H was listening to professor Juniper's speech but did not understand a word of it. Once the professor finished talking H walked towards a large table with a huge amount of food on it and started eating. The food was actually the only reason H visited the party, he was not wearing any formal clothes so he tried not to draw any attention. In the corner of his eye he could see professor Juniper, she was leaving the stage, together with a woman who looked really familiar to H. It took a few seconds for H to realize the woman was one of the Team Rocket executives he had met before. H quickly released Ralts from his pokeball and said. I want you to follow the professor and the woman walking next to her, but you have got to be careful, make sure they don't see you. Ralts nodded and teleported.

Amie was surprised at how short the professor's speech was, expecting to be stuck in her chair for longer when she heard such...scientific words being used. She had been fiddling with her mask the whole thing through, the feathers on the side tickling her ears. It was interesting to hear a professor from another region speak in a crowd this large. She only understood a little of what was said due to her mind being in other places.
Amie wore a smile, among other new things, as she got out of her seat and left for the main floor which many trainers were congregated around. This was her first real higher end social event, even if the main focus was for the professor's speech, and she did not want to waste it. Back in Celadon, the richer citizens always had gatherings like this, but as much as Amie would have like to have gone, there was always work in her way. Even if she was free a night, she didn't know anyone close enough in that crowd to get put on the guest list. Though this event was probably lesser than that ideal, she wanted to enjoy as much of it as she could. Still hearing about a formal wear event delighted her, even though her attire didn't match most people's she had seen yet.
Heels were not her forte, but she managed to keep on her feet with only a few stumbles here and there. She was also used to the draft that her skirt caused her as she walked to the main floor where many other people were conversing amongst themselves. She wondered if there was anyone free to talk nearby, since she didn't want to interrupt anyone's conversation, yet at least.

Violet felt quite uncomfortable in the dress she had picked out. It was an odd feeling to have her legs feel so bare. She tucked in the price tag as she sat down, hoping it would stay put. There was no way she was spilling anything on this dress, she had to return it as soon as this thing was over. She was being extremely cautious with it. The thing cost way too much money. She had decided not to wear heels, she could never balance properly in them, and if she fell into something messy she wouldn't be able to return the dress, but she was fairly sure the dress was long enough to cover up her shoes. She had kept her jacket on, without it her arms would be cold and she would feel practically naked. Black matched black, right? It seemed like it should be that way. She was pulled out of her strange thoughts as the good professor started her speech. Violet did her best to concentrate, and tried to figure it out. It was all pretty over her head, but she understood a little bit about it. It was actually fairly fascinating, well the parts she understood were at least. It was over fairly quickly, but that was fine, Violet needed the time to think about it. It was quite complex after all.

User Image"Excuse me?"
"The Professors are busy. They can answer your questions later," Remi User Imagesaid. She repeated the motion of holding her hand out to encourage Professors Juniper and Oak to step into the hallway, but they were both distracted by the man who'd waved a handkerchief, trying to get their attention. Remi huffed a little. "Professors?"
"Alas, Remi, it is you with whom wish to speak," the handkerchief-waving man said. He tucked the square of embroidered silk back up the burgundy sleeve of his formal jacket, then whipped his hand across his torso and flicked his fingers, making a playing card appear from nowhere.
Remi couldn't ignore the man now. Not now that she'd seen him; now that she recognised who he was. "Will. It's been a while. Kooky as ever, I see."
"To one a kook, to another a genius. Each to their own," Will argued. He flicked the playing card from his fingers and it stuck in Remi's bushy hair.
"I thought so! You're Will of the Elite Four," Professor Oak blurted. "Professor Juniper, you must meet Will. He's a phenomenal trainer, psychic and if I'm not mistaken, a master of aura."
Will bowed, swinging one arm across his waist and the other out to the side, like he was initiating a dance.
"Professors, please. I'm sure Will of the Elite Four can wait," Remi grumbled. She glanced out of the door. Then she looked back to Will. Her teeth ground together so strongly she could feel her whole jaw stiffening up. "I'm sure Will of the Elite Four has things to keep himself occupied with. No doubt there'll be hundreds of people bursting into the room any second, eager to get his attention."User Image
"Everybody on the floor!" Arc barked as he ran into the room. His krookodile roared and swung her tail, flinging a big, round table across the room. Most people flinched, including the professors. Both Remi and Will stood tall, though. Unmoving.
"You ought to ask nicely," Will said.
Arc wasn't the sort to take that kind of advice. In fact, he didn't like any kind of advice--advice suggested he was wrong. "How dare you? ...Krookodile, giga impact!"
Will made a pokéball appear from nowhere. One of his pokémon came out to face the seven-foot monstrosity that was breaking the floorboards with each massive stride forwards. It was a slim, blue blob.
"Woh~~~~bba wobba!"
"Counter, wobbuffet," Will ordered.
"Wobba!" the exuberant pokémon replied. It glowed faintly, then as the massive krookodile hit it, there was a bright blast of white light.
Krookodile flew across the room and smashed through the wall, right beside the door Arc had run into the room through.
"Krookodile!" Arc gasped. He whipped around from looking at his pokémon and glowered at Will.
Wobbuffet slapped his arm against his forehead. "Wobba wobbuffet!"
"Banette, trick," Remi joined in. Her pokémon appeared behind Professor Juniper and sneaked something from her pocket, replacing it with a life orb. "Now night shade!"
"Nette-nette-nette," the pokémon snickered. Then it tossed its arms wide and glowed pink. It seemed to suck all of the light out of the room, even causing the chandeliers overhead to flicker. A second later it released all the power in a series of purple waves which knocked everyone in the room flat.
As though that was the sign to advance, all eight sets of double doors into the room immediately burst open. A mass of grunts burst in, ready to deal with anyone who tried to fight back. Remi grabbed Arc and heaved him up. She dragged him out through the krookodile-shaped hole in the wall. "We've got the device. Time to leave."
"Are you kidding!? We can take him--he's weak to all of our pokémon," Arc snapped. He snatched his hand away from Remi as she tried to drag him down the hallway.
"That night shade knocked him down. He'll have a headache for a week. But all the other trainers in that room? They'll be up and about in minutes, and there must be a hundred of them. Let the grunts deal with the mess," Remi argued. She showed Arc the strange headset that Banette had taken from Professor Juniper and handed to her. "This is all we came for. It works - she said so - so that's our mission complete. Time to leave."
"Fine," Arc bit back. "Run. I'm going to do it the Team Rocket way--I'm going to fight. I'm going to smash this place to pieces."
"Krooooooook~" Krookodile roared. She grabbed a chandelier from the ceiling and pulled it from its fittings, then threw it to the floor. The whole thing smashed to thousands of sharp pieces, which littered the deep red carpet. "Krookodile!"
"You see. Krookodile's outraged," Arc said. "We'll see you back at headquarters. Once we're finished teaching these weaklings a lesson."

Along with another handful of Grunts, Talora, Stockwell and Lanikai burst into the room, pokéballs at the ready and looking over at the crowds with threatening glares, ready to take on anyone who dare try to interfere. After a not so successful mission last time, all three grunts were determined not to mess this one up.
Talora eyed the ladies in their fancy dresses with somewhat envious eyes. It should have been her in Remi's place, getting to dress up and command everyone, complete the mission and fly off in her fancy helicopter leaving the lowly grunts to make their own way to safety. She huffed and kept her eyes peeled for anyone trying to be a hero.
Stockwell didn't care for fancy do's he didn't like feeling like anyone was above him, he had enough of that as it was from his superiors. He stood throwing a pokéball up and down in his hand, as a warning to anyone who would try to get away, he didn't think many of these snobs would have strong pokémon with them anyway.
Lanikai was as calm and collected as ever. He leaned against a wall relaxed, also throwing a pokéball up and down in his hands, but also spinning it between his fingers and doing other fancy tricks, he too expected this mission to be a relatively easy one. All he had to do was keep any trainers at bay while the bosses swiped the goods. Simple enough.

Amie stood on the edge of a group of people, listing to them talk about if the price of pokeballs would increase due to sliph's company's decision about, terribly boring stuff Amie thought to herself. She thought about moving onto another group with possibly better things to say, but murmurings and strange noises caught her attention. She looked over to one side where she thought she heard things coming from far off in the other direction. Sounded like people were battling, but maybe a bit too rough as she could hear things crashing and breaking.
There wasn't much time given to dwell on that, as next came a swarm of black uniformed people one could easily identify as team rocket. Though she wanted to figure out what was going on in that other area, it was getting too crowded with both trainers and grunts in this area. It would be best to clear out this infestation before getting to the main event.
Amie caught the glance of a team rocket grunt that was staring her down, among around her too. She reached under her skirt and grabbed her pokeball, holding it in her hand as she approached the female grunt. If she could get pass this girl, probably having to deal with the others too, she could maybe go find out what was going on in that other area they seemed to be keeping them from.

Just a few seconds after Ralts teleported away he reappeared and started jumping around. What is wrong, H asked, do you thing I should go there? Ralts nodded and started running towards the door, H followed right behind him. When H and Ralts had almost reached the professors and the lady and two other men when the two men suddenly started fighting, suddenly the doors burst open and a large group of Team Rocket grunts burst in. The lady ran away but the man stayed behind and looked like he wanted to fight.

User ImageRaide watched the presentation patiently, attempting to take in the information that she could understand in layman's terms. Near the end of the speech, she clapped along with the rest of the crowd, understanding that it was a big deal, though not knowing how it would actually effect the non-scientists such as herself. After the speech, the whole situation seemed to turn into a social party for the rich and talkative. Those people with lots of connections, she decided as she lacked a better way to term them.

Then came a massive commotion from somewhere in the room she was in, and Raide lost track of what was happening for a few moments. All she really knew was that someone or something had attacked and that some people were diving to the floor in fear. Raide didn't quite drop to the floor- no way, the floor was probably dirty by now- but she surely ducked and covered the back of her head as attacks flew and debris scattered across the room.

As some of the attacks ended and grunts came flooding into the room, Raide wasted only a few seconds taking her shoes off of her feet so she could move before running to the side of the room to avoid being overrun. There, she found herself face to face with a threatening looking team rocket grunt. Actually they all looked threatening to her, but this one looked incredibly sure of himself as he tossed his Pokeball up and down, as if just daring someone to challenge him. Since Raide had her Pokemon with her, she grabbed a Pokeball and readied herself for battle. She was sure that other trainers would do the same.

Arc turned to a nearby door and looked back into the main room, where turmoil was unfolding as the grunts started fighting off gutsy trainers. There was one trainer stood there, looking straight back at Arc, with a ralts at his side.
He seemed familiar, somehow. There was a photograph of him doing the rounds within the organisation.
Arc sneered at the guy. "You there. With the ralts. I recognise you. Why aren't you in uniform?"

H was surprised when the Team Rocket member recognized him, H knew he was being watched but he did not think there would be a lot of members who knew his name. I am not a Team Rocket member, H said, you took my Ralts and I had to do your jobs to get him back. Now I got my Ralts back it is time to get revenge. H was getting pretty mad at the Team Rocket member and suddenly the only thing he wanted was to beat him.

She would have to get this over with quickly and threw out her pokéball, releasing her pride and joy. "Get her Houndour!" Talora yelled, she was ready to take out her frustrations. "Start things off with a fire fang attack!" She commanded right away, she didn't want to waste time seeing what this girl was going to come out with first.

Stockwell was grinning over at Talora's obvious displeasure about battling but yet managing to handle herself for once. He looked back over at the crowd and saw another girl following suit and getting ready for battle. "Alright! I'll bite." Stockwell decided throwing his pokéball up once more and then throwing it on catching. "Come on out Trubbish." He grunted. The pokémon appeared and readied itself for attack. Raide was unsurprised when the Team Rocket Grunt took the bait to battle. However, she was not expecting the horrible smell from the Pokemon he sent out, which (if she had been alone) might have won the battle right then and there. Turning slightly green, she tossed the Pokeball in her hand forward and watched as Cyndaquil materialized. "Cyndaquil!" Raide regretted speaking because that meant she needed to breathe. "Go ahead and keep using flamethrower!"

Fortunately, the small fire-type seemed relatively unaffected by the stench and released a stream of hot fire from his mouth which engulfed the Trubbish. Cyndaquil had to pause before he could make anymore flames, leaving him open to an attack for a moment. Raide almost regretted calling that attack as it had added the smell of burning to the stench, but it was hard to worsen the original odor too much.
