Maia frowned sitting on the rooftop of the community center trying to figure of if the youma she was sensing was inside the building and if so, was it really okay for her to go into a locked building as that was breaking and entering. It left her feeling a bit conflicted and hoping that somehow the youma would just come out.
Maia opted for the route that would do the least damage to the community center, cause if she got in and used her super attack on the youma right away, she could take it out easy.
A frown still marred on her face she looked to the rooftop entrance and figured that was the best way to enter. Of course she tried it first, locked. She went at the lock with a hair pin, useless. She rolled her eyes not wanting to kick the door in and started checking windows after jumping down to the ground. She grinned when she found one open and slipped into the building to search for the youma.

It had taken some time for Ares to unravel just who had been letting non-Blood Moon Court members know of the innerworkings of her former court. In many ways, Ares still considered the BMC hers, even if Birhan Isat was now at the helm. It was only a matter of time before the Princess of Smoke converted them all. She could be patient.
Betrayal, however, was another circumstance altogether.
Solving the riddle of who betrayed the BMC was a puzzle -- but Ares was good at them. How had some White Mooners come to learn the finer details of Operation Rota? None could have... not unless they believed the words of the surviving Negas, or if someone in the Blood Moon Court let out the word.
There were a few possibilities, but Princess Ares had a gut feeling about this one. And she trusted her gut. It took a week of dropping in on every light aura she could. Then Ares found her.
Maia. The girl had cut and run on the Blood Moon Court, and Ares could remember vividly her misgivings about Operation Rota. That, coupled with the fact that she had left the Basterds to join the Blood Moon, led the Princess of Smoke to believe that she was the most likely person to betray them. And if she was wrong? Well, it happened.
Moving through mirrors like water, Ares traced the faint outline of Maia as she moved into the community center. The room the girl had entered was a dance room, complete with one wall of mirrors and another cut by a ballet bar. In an instant, Princess Ares melted out of the mirror closest to Maia, swamping her in a dark aura. Malevolence glowed in her eyes as she gripped the girl by the throat, lifted her off her feet, and slammed her against the nearest unmirrored wall without so much as the batting of an eye.
After a moment, she narrowed her eyes and said, "Did you break your oath to the Blood Moon Court by spreading our secrets to others?" The words were hissed, like steam leaking from a teakettle.

Maia felt the dark aura that sent a chill down her back and her whipping around only to be lifted bodily off the ground and small into a wall. She gasped looking wide eyes at Ares. Terror ran through her like rolling thunders squirming under the piercing eyes and hissed words.
She knew all she could was lie, if she knew nothing good would come of her letting the secrets of the BMC slip. "I would never betray the Blood Moon Court," she said resolutely, but Maia was shaking from fear and wishing that she was anywhere but with Ares.
"What happened to you," she asked still shaking. It was surprising her voice didn't shake, but she was the senshi of song, she had great control of her voice.

Ares pulled Maia back from the wall for a moment and then thrust her back against it with added force. "Do not lie to me, Maia. I don't convert traitors. I kill them," she said lowly. Behind her, smoky wings rose up and widened, trailing curls of black all around them.
"Don't tell me you would never betray my court. You left. You left the Blood Moon and then, suddenly, others are aware of our actions." Her fist tightened for several painful seconds, preventing Maia from breathing at all and then she released it enough to allow some air flow. "There is one way to keep me from killing you right now. You want to save this pathetic, traitorous skin of yours, don't you? Just want to save yourself, I'm sure. You are of the most disgusting sort."
Spit and bile rose in Ares' throat. It was true -- she hated nothing more than treason. Her own switch from Order to Chaos was not the same. Ares would not kill the Blood Moon; she would save them. Maia was of another kind all together. "Tell me who you told about Operation Rota. Tell me, and you will live another day -- long enough to realize how your feeble, weak actions almost led to the death of your former comrades against Zinkenite."
Princess Ares leveled her eyes with Maia's, full of hatred. "Speak."

Maia in a brave moment of daring glared at Ares, "I am not a traitor," she said. She left the Blood Moon, but she would still stand beside them as she the Basterds. She did not consider herself a traitor, more an ally to all senshi.
Maia gasped trying to breath but finding herself unable. She struggled against the other, but Ares was stronger, angrier, terrifying. She did tell and she felt guilty about it the first time it happened, completely on accident from the lips of a over tired, nightmare plagued, zombie of herself. The second time had been to Regulus who had saved her from the now crazed Wolframite and again recently. Did they tell when they swore they wouldn't? She had, hadnt she.
She was shaking terrified, having been given the option to save herself and knowing she wouldn't take it. All she said with tears in her eyes was, "what happened to my friend, the girl, the girl that ..." she was crying now and she couldn't say it, but she wanted to ask what happened to Fallon, the girl from ice skating, the girl she visited in the hospital and promised to sing to, and even more recently prom shopping.
She looked with determined eyes at Ares, "my life for their's. I did tell, but I won't tell you who. I do not know what happened to you Fallon, Ares, but ..."

Not a traitor.
Not a traitor.
The idea was so ludicrous to the ruler of the Dark Mirror that Princess Ares could not suppress a snort. The attitude that Maia was giving her did not register as brave in her mind. It seemed foolish. One squeeze of her hand, and the other senshi's eyes would be dangling ornaments on her face. But Ares did not seem interested in killing Maia, not in that moment.
Instead she slammed the girl so hard against the wall that she swore she heard teeth crack. "This feigned nobility reeks. You cannot play the traitor and then attempt to fall on your sword. It doesn't work that way. Your weakness hurt people you claim to care about." Flecks of spit flew from Ares' lips. Her rage at disloyalty was so deeply ingrained in her soul that she was honestly afraid of what she might do.
"Mark my words, you sorry excuse for a senshi. You will never be a member of the Dark Mirror Court. When we save this universe, you will not be alive to see it. Do you know why?" She brought her face half a inch from Maia's, glared at her. When she spoke, her voice was a whisper, "Because you are unworthy."
In a flash of muscle, Ares whipped her arm outward, tossing Maia twenty feet in the opposite direction. Before she could try to stand, the Princess of Smoke was upon her once more, pressing a sharp boot against her throat.

Maia was becoming angry at Ares' words however that anger was momentarily quelled when he back slammed hard into the wall behind her. She couldn't help but to groan tears forming as Ares spat nasty words at her. She wasn't feigning nobility and she did not think those whom she spoken to had told anything. She had told them she was sure the consequences of her speaking out and they understood they had to keep silent. She didn't understand how it was she hurt anyone.
She looked up her face angry though her eyes shone with tears, she wanted to punch Ares. She did not want to be worthy of choas, of the dark mirror court. In the moment she thought how pathetic it was such a strong senshi had turned to the darkness and she was about to say so when she was flung literally across the room.
She was happy to be released and quickly scambled to get up only to have a sharp heel against her throat. She went deadly still, her voice was her life. Fight Maia, her conscience screamed out, this isn't you friend. This isnt your captain, she is going to kill you.
Maia right fist balled into a fist and she swung as hard as she could for Ares knee cap, her other hand going to push her to the left. She couldn't risk her throat being damaged. As it was she was almost certain she couldn't use her attacks, but if she could get away from Ares she was mostly certainly going to try to give her the panic attack of a life time.

But Maia's thrown fist and flailing did nothing to unseat the parallel princess. She stared coldly down at the girl on the ground, her eyes echoing nothing but lethal stillness. "Maia, you are not fit for this universe. There is no place for you when our kingdom is reborn," she said flatly.
"Death is the only thing I will give you."
One clawed hand raised into the air, smoke curling around her fingertips as Ares began to summon an attack to slowly choke the life from the girl at her feet. To think they had been friends. Ridden horses, cooked together. That life was too far gone for Ares now. She barely remembered her humanity. Now, the only thing that existed for her was Chaos.

Maia was terrified, she hadn't been able to remove Ares from herself and now Ares seemed to be ready to end her. She could possible attack her with her boot against her throat, she feared Ares stepping down any harder if she tried. She stared with wide terrified eyes at Ares, thinking of those she was trying to protect. Were their lives more important than hers, her mind screams for her to save herself, but her heart refused to listen.
"Ares why," she screamed not really pleading with the woman but hoping someone would here her.
She flailed and punched and tried everything in her power to unbalance the girl, tears flowing down her face as she struggled, terror overcoming her and forcing her to call out, voice be damn.
"Someone, anyone please help me!"
