Magical _____ Angels were created long ago by the combination of blood, containing the spark of life, and magic, to give that life form and function.
Angel Pae'il are flesh, bone and blood, even similar to humans.
All Pae'il are magical and possess that magical energy required to utilize that magic. Pae'il have an energy source called Aika. Ai is the magic of The Light, and ka is the magic of the Dark. Elemental magic is a more raw version of that lifeforce energy. Angels tap into that energy source to use their magic and abilities. It is not unlimited, so an Angel must rest or find a way to replenish their energy before being able to cast another spell.
SpiritualPae'il have souls. Pae'il can be reincarnated, but not all are. The connection to their past self has to be discovered through long, arduous questing. No pae'il will know who they used to be without effort, although some may find certain things familiar, or certain triggers may unlock brief memories of the past. Angels believe in and worship the Guardians as their deities. The Guardians are bringers of life, granters of power, and generally take care of the Pae'il on Telrunya as well as providing guidance in times of need. Guardian Iris serves as their messenger and is the go-between for the Pae'il and the Guardians.
BiologicalAngels are typically characterized by their large feathered wings and floating halos, usually silver or gold. Angels are the smaller of the two Blood Pae breeds. They are shorter than their Demon kin, and tend to have softer, rounded features. Their eyes are larger and more 'innocent-looking' as well. Their hair remains soft and fine, and they tend to appear more graceful and prettier than their kin. Angels bleed red, like all Pae'il. Angels can die. ((For RP purposes, you have to clear this with Antidia or Teigra first, otherwise your Pae is assumed to be in the limbo state in the Hall of Lost Souls.)) Angels, like all Pae'il, have lips, mouths, and noses. They are just not visible on the official cert art.

Telrunya is a isle of magic. It flows through the waters, the land, even the air itself. The Creator, in his infinite wisdom, created the Isle, then the Pae'il to inhabit it. The Pae'il are as much a part of the Isle as are the forests and mountains. They are connected to it, both as their home and as the source of their powers and life.
However, not all is perfect with Telrunya. She has seen her share of tragedy alongside the Pae'il. The Great Sundering tore the island apart, leaving it floating in the sky for generations. Now, she has fallen back to the sea, settling once more onto a terran home, and adjusting to a more tropical climate and heavier atmosphere.
Buildings of note on Telrunya include the HQ building, which shifted to appear as a lighthouse when the Isle returned to the sea, the Falassion Healing House, and the floating Telrunya City, now rebuilt and open for commerce. As for natural wonders, there is Tuatha'Ri Lake, located in the center of the Isle, the Aura Nin Mountains to the north, Dragnid Forest to the South (best recommended to stay out of there, as it can be highly dangerous), and Loka Nei Forest to the west. There are plenty of forests and beaches in which to spend one's time, depending on tastes, as well as many other scenic locations on the Isle.

As of yet, the Angels and Demons have had no particular leadership established for their races. However, there's a rumor that a group will be stepping into the role soon...

Long ago, Telrunya was formed by the great Creator. However, as lovely as this new land was, it was empty. And so, the Creator in his infinite power and wisdom, created the Angelic and Demonic Pae'il with a mixture of blood, containing the spark of life, and magic, to give it form and purpose. From this powerful binding, the very first Angel and Demon Pae'il were formed.
In time, the Angels and Demons prospered, and the Creator was pleased. A group of ten enlightened beings known as the Guardians were tasked with watching over the Pae'il, aiding them and helping to nurture them that they might grow.
All seemed well for some time, many ages in fact, the Angels and Demons lived side by side and grew and prospered. However, the differences between the two races started to cause rifts, small at first, but growing larger as they were fed by strife and difficulties.
Trouble was on the horizon and the Guardians were troubled by the behavior of their charges. Measures were taken by the Guardians to prevent the situation from growing worse, and the Fae were created as mediators between the two races. However, by this point, hostilities had progressed beyond anything that could be settled by outside mediators. The Angels and Demons were going to war.
Caught in the middle, the Fae either perished or disappeared into hiding, either way, falling out of the war to come. The Angels and Demons warred, many died, and the lands were soaked with blood.
The Guardians looked down with sorrow, but also rage. The Pae'il had grown rebellious and out of control; there was little that could possibly be done to stop the fighting. In their rage, the Guardians set their fury loose upon the isle, ripping Telrunya apart. The event became known as the Sundering, and marked the ending of the Fourth Age.
Many Pae'il were killed in the Sundering, and few survived the event. Those that did, of course, had no more thoughts of war amonst themselves, as survival was the only task for the day. Many Pae'il survived in the form of unborn eggs, hidden away and kept safe through magic. These eggs were entrusted to caretakers following the events of the Sundering, when the Guardians had quelled their fury and taken on their roles as the remaining Pae'ils protectors once more. Since then, the Pae'il have begun to grow and thrive once more. Many documents and records of the past were lost in the Sundering, so most current Pae'il have little to no knowledge of the past or of the bloody wars in their history.

________It doesn't matter where you're from .... ________________Love can cross any boundaries!
The Miracle of Life
_____Following the cataclysmic Sundering, the remaining Angelic and Demonic Pae'il were saved from destruction, hidden away in stasis. After they re-emerged, hatching from their eggs and being adopted by caretakers until they were old enough to fend for themselves, they grew and prospered, their numbers slowly building as they spread across the island once more. Strangely, after a while, the Pae'il stopped laying eggs to reproduce.
_____The Pae'il were evolving, now giving live-birth to produce offspring.
The original Angels and Demons were created by magic and human blood, earning them the nickname, "Blood Pae", by other races.
Second generation Blood Pae, born from a male and female, will be live-born.
When a same-gendered couple wishes to expand their family, Millie, the Fae of Life, takes a special interest. She senses the connection between the two Pae'il, and by using magic of her own, prepares the necessary steps for the couple. When the time comes, Millie, or one of the other island fae who help her out, will deliver the child, or children, created by the couple's feelings for one another, to the lucky pair.
One Big Happy Family!
_____Sometimes, the heart wants what the heart wants.
Angels and Demons may breed with each other, as well as any other race of Pae'il. The magic possessed by the Angelic and Demonic Pae'il is approximately equal to that of the Fae, so they each produce a special type of offspring. If a Blood Pae breeds with an Ancient race, the elemental magic of the Ancient will affect the natural form of the Blood Pae, producing offspring with unique features.
Discovered Blood Pae Hybrids: Angel + Demon = Shetani Angel + Fae = Wilwarin Demon + Fae = Nymph Angel + Faun = Earth Angel (Light Valkyr) Angel + Naiad = Water Angel (Light Coatl) Demon + Faun = Earth Demon (Shadow Valkyr) Demon + Naiad = Water Demon (Shadow Coatl)
Undiscovered Blood Pae Hybrids: Angel + ??? = ??? Demon + ??? = ??? Demon + ??? = ??? Demon + ??? = ???
Newly discovered summoned types of Demons and Angels do not change the hybrid type. Example: A Rakshasha + Fae will still make a Nymph.

________________Sometimes things are not as they appear. Sometimes, there is more to the story than meets the eye.
Reports of recently discovered new types of Demons that are summoned have been coming in from all over the island, including from the Tree of Life, Laisidhiel.
RakshashasThis demon is unique in appearance compared to the regular demons of Telrunya.First and foremost, they are demons, but they are foreign demons. They have long tails with large tufts of soft hair at the end. The are furry down to their knees, where the hair is longer. It is coarse on a male, but soft on a female. They have cat-like ears. They have a third eye that allows them to see the spirit world. They cannot communicate with the spirit world unless that is their unique power, but they can see everything that happens. They have wild hair They have large, sharp claws that are not retractable. They have two large fangs that hang down. They will all have a red claw injury that will never heal. That is their sacrifice to live in this world, and on Telrunya.
Their origin is partially unknown. However it is speculated they come from a different dimension.
They have unique abilities their Demon kin do not possess. They do not have wings, instead move within the shadows. They are able to blend in to shadows to hide. They are predators, and very fast. They can be good or evil. But even good Rakshashas can leave chaos in their wake. Evil Rakshashas can become cannibalistic, choosing to consume the life-force (blood) of other Pae'il, because they believe they can absorb the other Pae's power. (Remember, other player consent is required, and no leaving countless, unnamed and non-existing Pae'il in their wake. ) Because they get their strength from shadows, they will be weaker in the light.
BondedRakshashas are not native to Telrunya, so in order to stay, they have to bond to another Pae'il (any type). They are not obligated to stay with their bonded, in fact they may even hate the Pae they bonded to. Initially, any Pae that summons a Rakshasha is bonded to it, which creates a protection. The Rakshasha cannot harm their bonded Pae without taking the injury on themselves. Consider the relationship with a Rakshasha like a Sire/child relationship. The Sire can summon their Rakshasha child anytime they want, and the Rak has to obey. Otherwise, the Rak is free to go have their own life.
SummoningTo summon a Rakshasha a blood sacrifice must be made. Pae'il blood on the demon artifact. It can be accidental or on purpose. Rakshasha have to be brought over by a Pae'il. They cannot summon themselves.
BreedingThey are demons, and share genetics. They will have the same type of offspring as a demon, except they have the chance at no wings, or inheriting a long, fluffy tail instead of the slender spaded tail.

________________Sometimes things are not as they appear. Sometimes, there is more to the story than meets the eye.
It appears the Rakshasha aren't the only ones coming to the island from alternate realms. Something else has found its way to Telrunya.
Fallen AngelsThis angel is similar in appearance compared to the regular angels of Telrunya. They can be simply referred to as Fallen, to avoid confusion with regular Angels.First and foremost, they are angels, but they are foreign angels. Their wings have been destroyed due to a curse that has also poisoned their hearts. No one knows who or what placed this curse on this particular Pae type. It is assumed a powerful Rakshasha medicine man did it long ago, in attempts to create obedient servants and destroy their free will. They have a hole in their chest, because the only way to escape to this world, is to leave their poisoned heart behind. (Rakshasha also find Fallen hearts to be a delicacy - it also allows a Rak to absorb the angel's power) They look like a normal angel with just those differences. All Fallen are prisoners in their home realm. They will always appear from the portal in the sky when first coming to Telrunya. A feather will always fall first.
Their origin is partially unknown. We know they come from the same place as the Rakshasha, but we still don't know that place is yet.
They have unique abilities their Angel kin do not possess. Their wings are not functional, however the light allows them to 'blink'. This means they can disappear and reappear in the light in a blink of the eye. This causes them to be quick and formidable opponents, but they have a limited range and cannot move like this in the dark or in shadows. (Range is approximately 20 yards.) They are used to being hunted, so they have sharpened senses and quick 'fight or flight' responses. They can be good or evil, however without a heart, they can be emotionless and lack the ability to connect to others. This does not mean they are all loners, but that it is just more challenging for them to form bonds. Because they get their strength from the light, shadows weaken them significantly. They are not bonded to anyone, nor can they be summoned. They arrive precisely when they want to.
Angel BladeThis blade is forged from their broken halo. It is connected to them on a spiritual level and is vital to their survival on Telrunya. This blade is how they will use and channel their powers. The blade was forged in secret to use as a weapon to fight back, but instead, they used it to flee to a new world. The Angel Blade can kill Rakshashas instantly. Other pae can be incur injury, but it can be dangerous if they're struck in a fatal location. Fallen can get a power like native Telrunyan Angels, however they do not need to swear fealty to the Guardians for it. Their blade can "steal" the power from the proper alter at the Ten Alters, depending on the chosen power. The loss of their heart causes the loss of their powers, so the Blade can restore the powers alternatively. Players do not need to roll for a power, they can choose a power category and the power within it. If they lose their blade, they lose their power.
BreedingThey are angels, and share genetics. They will have the same type of offspring as an angel, with one major exception. There is a 50% chance the offspring will inherit the curse that poisons their heart. If this is the case, the heart will slowly grow sick, causing the angel's wings to deteriorate. The heart must be removed before they become an adult or they will die from the poison. Only these types of Angels (and their offspring) can survive without a heart because of their origins. Teenage Angels with a Fallen as a parent (or grandparent even) who have the curse will need to forge their own deteriorating halo into an Angel Blade in order to get a power. Reforging the broken halo is not required, nor is having a power. It merely gives them an advantage to use against their enemies.
