Hero was so conflicted with feelings. Her felt good, accomplished, for helping out a stranger... but now he had a suspicious looking caiman following him no matter where he went. He could see it, every so often, those bright eyes would dance above the waterline. Fearing for his own safety - but grateful she was safe now - Hero would sleep on what limited sold ground he could find. He knew caimans could come up there, but he felt just a little better. Today, the caiman was ever so closer, and in a slight rage, Hero stopped and yelled at the top of his longs. "Why can't you leave me alone, foul beast!?" His only response... a ripple generated as the caiman lifted its head and gave a rather toothy grin. Oh, it was on!

It was a normal day for Justice. He walked through the underbrush of the swamp, his posture stiff, his chest out, his head held high and proud. Such a perfect air of confidence would certainly make any evil-doer think twice! And it had, or so he felt. He'd not come across any other living creature all day. Well, until now.
He stopped short when he heard a yell break loudly through the swamp. A cry... for help, perhaps? A poor, tormented soul and a vicious, unrelenting stalker! Oh yes oh yes oh yes, this was such a good chance to show off... err, stop evil.
"Eeeeeeeeeviiiiiiiil!" he bellowed as he crashed through the wet marsh and weak roots. He took a running leap over the final obstacle before landing himself in a small clearing by a river. "STOP FOUL BEAST!" he yelled as he landed without even checking to see if anyone was around, his chest puffed out in a rather ridiculous way.

Hero could appreciate the gesture made by the other buck and made sure to keep note of what conspired. This buck had game. He could not help but admire the slicked back fur, the puffed out chest, and the charging shout. He made it look so easy.
The brilliant colored buck could actually forget about his 'extended tail' for awhile.
Ah, but there was a splash in the water as the caiman came forward to investigate this newcomer - and Hero remembered right away.
The buck sighed in exasperation and glared at the water were bright eyes watched with humor. "You see, I am not the only one that wants you gone.'
The caiman flicked its tail and caused the ripples to go towards them - as if to say it would soon be following.

"Sir!" Justice said loudly. He pointed a hoof at the creature in the water. "Is this the evil creature who upsets you? I shall get rid of it if so!" He leaned forward a bit, trying to make himself look bigger from the villain's perspective, hoping to scare it off with his terrifyingly good looks alone.

Hero chewed on his cheek, evidence that he was still rather young and frustrated about the actions that transpired. "Yes, this is the beast that haunts my days and causes my sleepless nights. I recently rescued an unsuspecting doe from its foul grasp, but now it appears to be attached to me. Whenever I think it is gone... it returns."
The buck was upset with how the fates had turned on him... he should be doing the rescuing, not being rescued himself!
The caiman lifted its head as the new buck came forward. It didn't want to eat either of these creatures, they were just horribly entertaining. With a toothy grin, it confronted Justice.
The red buck glared, his fear of the creature had slipped away with this last passing of the moon - now he was just annoyed and wanted it to leave him alone. "My name is Hero, although I am not living up to my name very well at the moment."

"Well then!" Justice locked his legs and lowered his head aggressively, staring at the unwanted villain. His nostrils flared and he breathed out heavily, doing his absolute best to appear frightening to the smaller creature.
"Iiiii am Justice!" he said proudly, elongating the I and accentuating his name to make them both seem extremely important. "And indeed I shall live up to my name by subduing this beast!" He flicked his tail. "And now, foul creature, begone!" he shouted, loud enough to cause some nearby roosting birds to chirp excitedly and fly away all in one large cluster. He took a long leap towards the caiman, making quite a splash in it's watery perch and landing but a foot away. "That was a warning! Leave now or I shall attack you with no mercy!"

Hero stood high, hopeful that Justice would frighten the caiman or at least make it think twice before continually bugging him.
The red caiman watched warily at the gray buck's advance. It had raised its head to get a better view when he showed aggressive actions, and thought it was pretty fun. Its own snout swayed side-to-side in a curious motion.
But when there was lots of name calling, and finally a leap, well, the caiman ducked quickly back into the lurking shadows of the swamp water. There was now a black leg so close to a red snout. It would be so easy to snap and growl and bite, but the caiman thought such actions were extreme.
A red head came back up and peered directly up to Justice. Eyes narrowed, it stared back at Justice. It's expression was determined and it snorted a little as if to say 'bring it'.
Hero saw the move and took a deep breathe. He knew that look, this wasn't over.

His eye twitched. What? That hadn't worked? But that always worked! His reflexes acted before his ego and when the caiman snorted, his foot jutted back a bit. But his ego quickly caught up, and he used the momentum to make a show of pretending to kick it's snout (in truth it was but a tap) and then leaping backwards into a more defensive position. "You leave me no choice beast!" he bellowed. "This is your last chance! Be gone, or I shall... Do horrible things to you!"

This wasn't over, at least not for Hero. The caiman was still mighty determined on that one. However.... this other buck was just as stubborn. It let out a seemingly distinctive chuckle, and one could swear it grinned - but the caiman backed down and floated away. It waited until it was out of sight and then burrowed under some low-lying branches. The game was on; it would listen and smell the differences in motions and then it would follow again.
Hero watched and... was amazed. Finally! Some relief from the pesky critter! With an abundant amount of joy, the brightly colored buck lept to Justice's side. "You did it! You did it! It's gone! It's gone!"
One could swear he was dancing. "And none too soon!" He sang a short chorus in the air and then almost visibly calmed down, as if he was trying to act like an adult but just could not hold his emotions in. "Justice, your service and kindness is to be greatly admired! I can never thank you enough! The beast is dea- well, gone, at least." Hero grinned from ear to ear as best he could. Oh, happy day!
