Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan was waiting at the edge of the woods for Nori. He had been tripping alot, in his usual, adorable Nori way. It concerned him though, he really hoped he woudlnt' fall and get hurt. They'd been together for awhile now, and they'd not yet talked about when or whatever about children. But maybe today would be that day on their little picnic. cheshirekttty Nori quickly tried to catch up to his lovemate. As usual, his clumsy self had slowed him down. Their walk through the woods had been something of a nightmare to the overly clumsy stallion. Tree roots, rocks, even air seemed to trip the stallion up at every possible moment. Trying not to curse, the stallion finally emerged from the woods and came to stand beside his patiently waiting Gunkan. He loved that about the stallion. No matter how how clumsy Nori might be, Gunkan was always there to pick him up and make him feel better.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan nuzzled Nori gently, "You're okay? You're not hurt are you?" He looked at his love in concern, he'd taken a pretty bad fall a few yards back but had jumped up and walked on again. "We're here now, for our picnic. Maybe next time...we won't come so far in." He nuzzled him again gently cheshirekttty It made Nori's heart warm to see his lovemate so concerned for him. "I'm fine handsome." He told the stallion. "You know me, I can handle a fall, goodness knows I'd be in some serious trouble if I couldn't. Perhaps one day I might learn how to correctly walk." He teased, making fun of his own clumsiness. Nori learned at a very young age that he could not let anything stand in the way of his happiness.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan couldn't help but to ease the conversation around to what he wanted to talk about. "Would you be upset if I hoped our foals had my grace and your beauty?" He raised a blushing face and questioning eyebrow to see if Nori would indeed talk to him about this--now. He thought, you know...maybe it was time. cheshirekttty If Nori hadn't been so oblivious the question might have caught him offguard, but it didn't seem to phase the stallion. "Of course not." He replied without hesitation. The conversation seeming natural to him. "I'd rather hope for it too. I wouldn't wish this on anyone." He replied cheerfully as he continued to walk on.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan's eyes lit up. Nori hadn't even hesitated. Asking another tenative question, "I wonder how soon that would happen..." He felt his face blushing brightly. CheshireKttty Nori was about to answer the stallion when he his fetlock brushed a large lump and he took a rather nasty tumble. Trying not to curse once more, the stallion shook his head in an attempt to clear his head and survey his surroundings. Looking back, he spotted the cause of his troubles, a rather small basket.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan rushed to Nori, "Are you okay?" He really didn't see how Nori had fallen or how he could be okay after that landing. He nuzzled him gently. "Do you need help?" He brushed back his hair, to look into his beautiful blue eyes. CheshireKttty The stallion didn't hear his lovemate. His eyes were focused on the basket only a few paces behind him. Could it truly be? Had it been abandoned? Was it still alive? There was a dull ache in his leg but he pushed the pain aside as he tried to get closer to it.

Nyx Queen of Darkness "What are you doing?" Gunkan wa walking after him. "What are you--" His voice trailed off as he saw the small little basket. "Is--that--" He'd been hoping for a child---sometimes soon, but had it literally just fallen in their laps? CheshireKttty Nori was snapped back into reality as his lifemate spoke to him. "I think it is." He said softly, still unable to believe his own eyes. Could fate have just handed them a child only moments after they had mentioned the subject?

Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan walked up and nudged the basket gently. "Is it okay? How do we---well know?" He realized then that they didn't know anything really about baskets or--well, anything. "What do we do? I mean, it's...been abandoned obviously. So we'll keep it, right?" CheshireKttty Nori eyed the basket thoughtfully. "Well, it seems to be okay. I mean, the color developed and I'm pretty sure that is a good sign." He started as he studied it. "I think the only way to tell for sure is to wait and see what happens. It looks so tiny, I wonder what it is," He turned then and saw the look on the other stallion's face and grinned. "Of course we'll keep it." He said.

Nyx Queen of Darkness Gunkan felt his mouth splitting open into a huge grin. Nuzzling Nori sweetly, he mused. "It has to be a small kind. It's so tiny, or do the baskets grow?" I mean really, what did they know about baskets? CheshireKttty He sniffed the basket curiously. "I have no clue." He answered honestly. He assumed that they might since foals grew within them, but then again the baskets could stay one size and just be big enough for every stage that the foal needed. "Maybe we should ask someone? I mean, if we're going to take it in we need to make sure we're responsible about it." He said thoughtfully. If they were going to be fathers, he wanted them to be the best that the basket could have.

cheshirekttty Nori thought over Gun's question for a few moments. Who could they ask? He figured a mare might be his best option. But he was so socially awkward he barely knew any females. Perhaps his mother could help, but then again what would she think about the whole situation? No, he better not. His sister? Yes, that could work. She did seem to have a decent knowledge of them and was his best bet if not his only one.
"We could ask my sister? I think she knows a good bit about them. Far more than I do, and anyway at least it gives us somewhere to start."

Gunkan wrinkled his nose. "But she really doesn't like me...." He gave a sigh, "But we can talk to her for the basket. There's no one else...is there?"

cheshirekttty The stallion thought carefully for a few moments before he replied. "No, unfortunately I really don't think there is anyone else. Unless you can think of someone?" Hopeful, Nori awaited a response, though it seemed they'd have to pay a visit to his sister.

Gunkan gave a sigh, as he leaned down to pick up the basket. "We're off to see the witch then."

Giggling, Nori followed the rather unhappy looking Gunkan. His sister might not be the biggest fan of Nori's love mate. But he knew she'd help them out.
