Patrolling sure was boring when you were by yourself.

Super Sailor Grus jumped from monkey bar to monkey bar, balancing with her arms stretched wide. So far, only one tiny youma had popped up from the grass around the neighborhood playground, something easily dusted. This left the rest of the night for Grus to think.

She had many things to think about. She would be starting school soon, a sophomore. She had a photography class to look forward to. And her mother was hinting that a puppy may appear at their house!

On another note, she was having strange visions about her planet, a few of them involving what she thinks a young Chaonis. This confused her. Why would another senshi be on her planet?

These thoughts kept her mind busy as she jumped from the monkey bars, kicking up the bark that they placed around the playground. Nasty stuff that bark. Guaranteed a splinter or two if you fell.

Sailor Hel was far different from Grus, from her chest a soft red glow of her corrupted starseed and her aura gave a sickly sweet sensation. That of a Senshi who just wasn't quite right.

Where the one patrolled for trouble, Hel caused it. Draining energy from the public, checking on a few wild Youma, and wondering where that small one she had seen earlier had gotten too.

Eventually she found her way to a playground, hood up far over her eyes as she approached watching from the corner of a small shed near by. Another Senshi? Who was this one? Well; Zink wouldn't forgive her if she didn't learn something about this girl.

Grus was just about to leave the playground when a familiar sensation washed over her. It took her back to when she had first become a senshi, and her first battle was with someone who wasn't quite right. A senshi but not. Someone who's aura felt like

"Bittersweet chocolate."

She mumbled the words, but twisted in a circle, seeking the not right senshi. They seemed to be to her right, so she called out "Your element of surprise is gone. I know your there!" Her body shook slightly at the prospect of battle, but she forced herself to ignore it. She was a Super Senshi now, she needed to start acting like one.

"You...you might as well come out." She said, trying not to be forceful. What if the person turned out to be stronger than herself?

Hel continued to peek around the corners of the shed when the other senshi finally called her out. Slowly she would round the corner hands held up high and head down low. The soft red light of her starseed casting eerie shadows across her figure as she moved through the night towards the other girl.

"You mistake me; I had not intention of using that surprise against you or anyone." At least not yet, she thought to herself, the girl was right it had no use now that she had been sensed.

"You call me out, you should at least do the honor of telling me your name now." Slowly she lowered her hands crossing them under her chest watching from below her hood. What senshi was this one? She couldn't even begin to tell.

When they came round the corner, it wasn't in a battle pose, full of bravado. She came out carefully....Her outfit suggested she was a senshi, but like the last one she had met, there was a large hole in her chest. It glowed with a faint red light that matched her theme of red and black. Grus couldn't see her eyes. They were hidden beneath a hood.

She was like a dark version of Little Red Riding Hood.

There was a pause between her question and Grus's answer while all of this went through her head.

This wasn't normal, was it? All of the people from the Negaverse she had met before had been eager to fight. Why didn't this one? Maybe she was new.

Grus didn't relax, though she kept her hands slightly raised. "I'm Sailor Grus. Super Senshi of Feathers. Who are you?"

It was a common thought, a lot of people joked she was a dark Little Red Ridding Hood. In some ways she was. She wasn't meant to do much more then skip through the city delivering messages and aiding Negaverse agents when they called. Tonight was different though, she would do this for Zink, for her friend. She would learn about this Sailor Grus and her feather powers.

"Hel, Senshi of Ashes." She didn't included what rank of Senshi, she had no intentions of blatently informing them of her power level. Zink would approve of that. Give little and take more.

"What are you doing out here tonight?"

Senshi of Ashes. Well a grim sphere that matches an equally grim outfit. Grus silently thanked whoever it was that decided what powers she got.

Something about this girl seemed off.

"Tonight?" She said, looking around at the playground. "Patrolling. It what we senshi do typically. What are you doing?"

She was having a conversation with this girl! Shouldn't they be fighting?

Her outfit was only so grim, she was actually quite fond of the red roses across her skirt and about her body. Even the endlessly decaying rose strapped atop her hood. Casually she paced the edge of the playground reaching out to run a hand over the smooth metal of a jungle gym.

"What do you patrol for? Are you looking to fight against negaverse agents? Or the Youma?" She continued to speak quietly making no action to fight. She wasn't supposed to do that till the very end when she had no choice beyond trying to retreat.

"Me? Keeping an eye on anyone that might cause trouble." Vauge, but true, if this Senshi was a threat... or part of the Blood Moon murderers she would surely need to find out.

What was with all the questions?

Grus decided that she wasn't in any danger..yet, so she relaxed her stance, favoring one with her arms crossed, putting her weight on one leg and facing the other one outward.
"I patrol for anything out of the ordinary. Mostly Youma, but if I see a Negaverse agent, or even a civilian bad guy, I'll certainly try and help."

"Trouble makers? Like who? Senshi? But your a senshi too.." She said slowly. "You know, I've met another one like you. He was a lot different, but still the same idea. A mix of good and bad."

Casually Hel skipped and leaped her way up a jungle gym dome. Standing on the top she continued to watch Grus taking not of how she stood, trying to guess anything about her.

"I'm sure you find plenty of that around here. I can guess what you do after that, though I don't think I agree exactly with what you do once you find them. No not at all." She shifted her weight slightly still balancing on the top of the dome of bars.

"Yes Senshi actually." She smiled softly, "So you've met another of the Senshi who chose to fight for the Earth Kingdom. A mix of good and bad? You would call us bad wouldn't you? We aren't bad exactly, we just believe in a different world then you. We don't see why the moon should have anything to do with this place. We should have left long ago, plain and simple."

Slowly she raised her hands holding them out towards Grus, she would move her lips and a slow rain of ash would trail from her hands and feet. "Would you join us? Or would you try to kill us like all the others? Do you really think fighting for an empty throne, a dead queen, is worth it?"

What?....

The voice in her head echoed the word over and over. Earth Kingdom? Dead Queen? What was Hel talking about?

"But...if they are hurting people, I'm going to stop them." She said, almost in defiance of what she had said. "They're just..regular people. They don't have powers to defend themselves. I won't let anyone else die." Flashbacks to a previous battle, and the death that followed haunted her memory for a moment before she shooed them away.

"I'm...not from the Moon." She insisted, uncrossing her arms. "I'm not from here at all. I mean, me personally is from Earth, but my powers come from a different planet. Constellation actually." She watched the girl balance atop the dome with ease.

"I don't know who this dead queen is." She continued, confusion an unwelcome guest in her mind. "I don't know about anything your talking about. But joining you...would mean I would have to hurt other people. I'd have to kill them...." her voice faded away, as uneasiness joined confusion within her.

She backed away a couple steps, more to try and ease her ruffled mind than anything.

"What is the world you believe in?"
PostPosted: Sun Sep 04, 2011 9:54 pm

"The Youma don't know any better, it's a pity, if they had just a little more knowledge they would know you don't always need to kill to gain energy." She shrugged, "Really though, whats a few lives in a ocean of billions? They help to bring about an end to this pointless war."

"No you aren't from the moon, but you serve their court, you follow their lead and wage this war on the kingdom of Earth, or the Negaverse as you would know them." She shrugged, the trail of ash raining from her hands shifting with the gesture ever so slightly coating and sticking to the bars around her.

"You follow a bunch of talking cats, you have no leader, so why do you fight? For one simple life or a handful? You can't save everyone so why not lay down you arms and leave the Earth and return to whatever world is deep down in your blood?"

Without warning she leaped off the jungle gym making a move to strike the girl with one of her ash raining hands, and bit of ash that made contact with the girl before hitting anything else would seem to weigh down on her, slowing her as it coated her body.

"A world where this war is finally over." She whispered as she snapped out with another slap from her other hand after the other threw the initial punch.

The confusion was growing. "Everyone has a right to live." She said "It doesn't matter who they are, what they do for a living, if they have a family..." She paused, clearing her head "Everyone has a right to live!"

"I don't serve the moon, I don't even know anyone from the moon! And I don't know anything about this queen! I don't fight for anyone but civilians who can't fight back!"

She herself didn't have time to fight back as Hel leapt forward. She jumped back, seeing her arm coated in something gray. Ash, duh. That was her power sphere. She tried to lift her arms to fight back, but her arm felt heavy, as if a weight was attached to it. She struggled, and was hit with another punch. She gasped, and kept trying to back up.

"The war will be over when the Negaverse stops using people like personal energy farms. You say you fight for the Earth Kingdom, but you use their inhabitants to fuel a fight that isn't theirs!" She shouted, lifting her arm with difficulty. But she had to drop it immediately. The dang thing just weighed too much! She tried to wipe the ash off.

"Everyone might have a right to live, yes, but desperate times result in sacrifices that must be made." Twisting around she continued to try striking at the girl with a rain of ash. "If you fight against us you fight with them simple as that. Some things really are that cut and dry."

"It won't be, you'll never stop attacking us trying to purge the Earth Kingdom from this planet all in the name of a dead prince and princess. You're all the ones fighting a pointless war we have to do what we do to defend this world from you!"

As Grus skipped away she snapped a kick, it fell short of course and she could only curse as she watched Grus start dusting the ash right off. A strong wind, or simply taking a moment to clean it off would easily dispel the magic. Leaping forward again Hel continued her assault, she couldn't afford to give this one any time to get back into speed.

"You fight for the civilians would you lay down your arms and stop fighting if you knew that was all it took to save them?!"

Was she trying to get her to convert or something?

The powdery ash proved to come off semi-easily, though it left streaks on her arms and fuku. She shook her hastily cleaned arm, feeling some of the weight dissipate. But Hel was quick to attack again, and she put her arms up to block. When the powder threatened to hit her again, she grabbed Hel's wrist, held it fast while she waited for the other arm to lose it's weight.

"I will stop fighting when I know my friends and family are safe." She said quietly since they were in close quarters now. "I want nothing to do with a war that's not mine. My planet is in ruins and I have no idea why! Who am I supposed to defend there? What reason do I have to go home!?"

She shoved Hel away, throwing her freed arms up. "Feather-Fall Strike!" She shouted, feeling the cloud of feathers swirl by her. They moved with more speed than her regular attack, and left paper cuts in some places if the edges hit just right.

Magic she could do. If she didn't have to hit Hel directly, that would be perfectly fine.

"A dead Princess is of no interest to me." She said dully, watching the feathers swirl. "The people I care about here on Earth are my interest. And until they are safe, and I don't have to patrol just to make sure they won't go missing, I will keep fighting against those who would use them for youma fodder."
