Eracs was excited. Excited actually wasn't even the right word. This was his first homework assignment ever! After the most interesting class that was full of water, talks of boats which he wasn't sure what they were still, beds, and dust bunnies, he was going to get to officially study one of the adorable creatures! He had been staring at the dust bunny for most of the time since he had gotten it. Well when he didn't have something else to do. So far it just hopped around in the small jar. He did want to let it out but after the trouble and time it took him to catch it in the first place, probably not the best idea. Perhaps his partner for the homework would have better thoughts on how to study it.

Speaking of! The boil was now on his way to do this homework. He kind of knew what they had to do. Work at home, but didn't he live in a dorm? Excited and random thoughts filled his head as he made his way to Riley's dorm. Early he had discovered a letter under his door from his partner. It had shown up randomly but he wasn't one to question such things. After some deciphering he figured out where her dorm was and was just abou there. He wasn't exactly sure which one this Riley was, he was new after all, but was happy he was also going to be making a new friend.

Now inside the dorm area, he found the correct dorm. Grasping the jar that held his bunny, he knocked on the door. He'd learned recently that is how you do things, not barging in. "Hello? Riley?"

Riley had made a special exception when she knew she was to receive a guest at her dorm. The lights in her living room were on. This was not usually the case - and having lights at all was a new addition to the room, anyway. But when the door was opened, a fully lit living room was behind the ghoul whose imposing frame stood in the center of the doorway, appraising her new classmate.

Eracs, I take it? A pleasure to meet you. Riley held her hand out, the fingers uncurling one by one before remaining open for a handshake.

She looked especially intrigued - what a delightful looking student. A bit on the breakable side.. but still interesting, nonetheless.

Please, come inside, make yourself comfortable. She gestured to the couch nearby, a plush and opulent piece of furniture that simply begged to be sat on. Can I get you any refreshment?

Eracs opened the door and had noticed the light. He was actually used to living in dark rooms but couldn't see very well in the dark at all. So the light was welcome though he didn't know it was a special occasion. He grinned excitedly when the door had actually opened and saw his homework partner. Oh! It was that interesting looking purple ghoul! He had wanted to talk to her before, mostly since he was wondering how she talked.

The boil nodded at the question, of course he was himself! He stared at the hand she extended for just a moment. That's right, people tended to shake hands when meeting someone new. Eracs extended a hand, which ended up being the wrong one, and then extended the right hand and shook Riley's hand up and down.

"Thank you!" He took a seat on the offered couch. It was very comfortable. Probably the most comfortable couch he'd ever sat down on. He'd only sat on two in his life though so wasn't able to judge properly. Eracs sat the jar with his dust bunny in it on the couch next to him. "Nope, don't really drink much." Or really he couldn't. He actually never tried.

"So what do you think we have to do with it? Has yours done anything?"

Riley closed the door once Eracs had entered, and turned to wait until he answered before she moved any further. Once he declined the offer of refreshment, she walked around the couch on the far side, and slid fluidly into the seat on the opposite side of the couch.

Ah, I believe we are meant to observe them, and record our findings. I would be careful, however. Mine has managed to outgrow the jar, since class has begun. It's currently hiding somewhere underneath this couch.

There was a tiny, ridiculous sounding growl from beneath them.

It's terribly foul tempered, but several of my other minipets have been keeping it in line. Still, I wouldn't want it to nibble on your leg. You are my guest, after all.

She reached out to the table, which held a bowl of colorful little squares that could easily pass for candies. What they were, instead, was revealed when she held one square at her feet, in an attempt to coax the fluffball out.

Psst. Come on. Come on out, you little helion, it's time for us to do our homework.

A long, cracked tongue flicked out from underneath the couch, trying to wrap around the candy and pull it back in. Instead, Riley kept a hold of the square, and used it to yank the critter out of it's hiding place. It hung limp by it's tongue, and she dropped it in her lap.

Be good now. We have company.

Eracs nodded excitedly. This was going to be so much fun! "I think I brought myself some paper for notes." Or something. He didn't have that much paper from after the move to a dorm room but did manage to find a bit. Did have to take notes after all. His eye sockets widened some at the mention of Riley's dust bunny outgrowing the jar. The boil's had grown since class but it still fit in the jar.

"You mean they can get bigger than this?" He wasn't sure if he should be happy or scare at that. Hesitantly he tried to look under the couch that her creature was said to be under. Had he had a throat, he would have gulped. "I hope it won't nibble, I don't have much leg for it to try and eat anyway." Also he needed that leg and did not want to worry about replacing it.

Eracs watched as she coaxed out her homework. It was kind of scary looking! "That's what it grows into!" Oh! "Should we mention that in our write up?" That was something right, it turned scary after being all cute.

Oh, I think so, yes. The most important thing here is stages of growth. Ah, at least, I think that is what qualifies as most important...

She thought about the context of the class, and the pet in her lap, and reassessed her opinion. Or, hmm. Perhaps we should also observe it acting on impulse. Would you like to let yours loose as well, and we can see how they interact with each other, and the environment?

Eracs excitably wrote down a few notes on his paper to the best of his ability of writing. This was amazing, he was learning so much! He was slightly sad that his adorable bunny would later turn into something creepy but there was nothing he could do about it.

His eye sockets widened at her suggestion. Let it out with to interact with the bigger one? Would his even survive this meeting. Though it did make some sense right, to see how the two creatures interacted with things. The boil nodded. "We could try right? Can't hurt anything." He hoped as he undid the lid and let this own dust bunny out onto the ground.

Riley let her dust bunny go, and it immediately crawled back under the couch. I think the first thing that's obvious to observe about the creature, is that it hates being exposed. Mine enjoys the darkness and small cramped spaces under the couch, the bed, and sometimes the bookcase if I'm being particularly loud.

She picked up a pencil, and wiggled it in front of the bottom of the couch. Another thing I have discovered is that they like to steal things. A lot. They have a habit of..

That long tail came swishing out from underneath the couch, and snatched the pencil within, rolling it back into it's hiding place.

... well, that.

Eracs watched as his dust bunny sat on the floor for a moment. It was figuring what to do with the new found freedom. After another moment of thinking the creature dashed under the couch near the other one.

He watched the bunny steal the pencil. "Does it do anything with it or just take it?"

The bunny he had released was watching the pencil as it rolled under the couch, it looked out to see if there was more. "Mine doesn't seem to do much like that sadly, just kind of sits there..." He tried to poke a pencil towards it but the bunny just sat under the couch.

It eats whatever it can get it's mouth around. I'm confident that pencil has been devoured. Ah, also- She reached in recklessly, grabbing her dust bunny a moment before it pounced on the less aggressive one. From what I witnessed in class, I'm confident that they breed. Absurdly fast. So we should probably, ah, keep them seperate if possible.

The mini had latched onto her hand, and was currently trying to gnaw it off. The lack of sharp teeth had it failing miserably. And if you're smart, you will file the teeth down flat while yours is still calm enough to let you hold it. They will try to inflict pain upon you if possible. At least mine does.. perhaps that is an individual trait of mine.

His bunny not knowing much, hopped back to him after the other had seemed to disappear. "I'll put that they act differently in my write up! And really? There did seem to be a lot of them in class." A lot a lot. He scoped up his own bunny as well.

"Teeth? That doesn't sound pleasant at all." Especially being made out of wood like he was, mostly. "I'll be sure to do that if it starts getting scary teeth." Eracs was hoping it wouldn't but had a sinking feeling that they thing would get scary like Riley's. "Think we have enough for the homework?" He looked at his few notes.

I believe we have adequate observations to write up a report on the behavior and characteristics of this particular creature, yes. Her fluid, never-miss-a-beat sentence was her long winded way of saying that.. yes. They had enough. She reached out to the bowl and plucked one of the colorful pieces of Fear candy, holding it close to her dust bunny so it would remove it's teeth from her arm and eat that instead. The little fluff almost took her fingers off in it's delight of snatching the treat out of her hand.

I would suggest some time just watching its behavior, at your own home. Perhaps the influence of my pets has caused this one to become a little more aggressive than most. This way, you have observations of two different environments for the creature to grow up in, and be able to compare and contrast the differences. Should be interesting, no? Riley's dust bunny was slowly chewing on its candy, and eyeing Eracs dust bunny with a calculating stare. Would you like to give your little one a candy, before you go? They're my treat.

Eracs tilted his head to the side as he listened to Riley, she said yes right? He was pretty sure that was a yes anyway so he nodded happily. Quickly he put his own bunny back into the jar so it would be easy to take back to his room.

"That sounds great to me! Get a lot of different views on these guys!" He grinned a little too happy. The boil didn't have any other pets, well besides the birds that followed him about, so he'd get to observe it by itself at least. "Sure, I think it'll like it." He took one of the treats and deposited it into the jar. Eracs stood up and started for the door. "I'll get going then so I can work on my own observation then, see you in class!"
