Seeing as the dual Monoblos quest Nekoht has sadistically made me do (I wanna wring his neck) has gotten me sdtuck and I can't Solo Lao just yet, I decided to try out the Dual Rajang Quest the Elder has for me...
So, I'm thinking those people who complain about Tigrex should shut their mouths, because I think the Rajang is far more annoying. xP Any Pelagus is annoying.
Anyways, I don't have the patience to go out and get 2 Giadrome Heads with their terrible drope rates to get the Silver Serpent Blade. If it's a better choice, then I might choose it, but...
So, here is my current set up. I know Rajang moves fast and as much as I would love using my Tigrex Armor to heal faster, it's Thunder Attacks would kill me easily.
Set Up:
Snow Venom + Black Piercing Khezu S Armor
Skills: Rec. +1 Sp. Sharpener
Items:
10 Herbs 10 Potions 10 Mega Potions 2 Genprey Fangs 2 Trap Tools Book of Combos 1 & 2 Pitfall Trap Shock Trap 3 L. Barrel Boms 10 S. Barrel Bombs 5 Flashbombs (bite me, I'm not comfortable with my style against Rajang) 2 Mega Dash Potion 10 Energy Drinks 20 Whetstones
Snow Venom+ is my sharpest weapon overall, but it's not the strongest. However, I need a weapon I can act quickly with. xP
So, any tips and changes I should make before I go to get blasted by some energy again?

All you need is evasion +1 for the Rajang really... Sharpening skill Inc. is nice to reduce the likelihood of getting hit while sharpening and you don't really need thunder res since his thunder attacks don't usually land and don't do the demon dance unless you're attack his ankles, you want to be able to dodge under/through him once he's looking at you again.
Lastly, when circling the Rajang and looking for the chance to move it, make sure you are going to your left (assuming your camera is looking at the Rajang) and when he's in rage mode, he is VERY likely to do "back hops" especially after a 'certain attack.'
ps. Snow Vemon is dual blades, right?

So, maybe I should switch to my Tigrex Armor then? I can get the speed eating as well. However, I lack the 4 points needed to get Speed Sharpener again. xP I have Titernia with two slots, so I could put two gems onto that.
Yep, that they are.
Do Earplugs block the Rajang roar, or is High-Grade needed?
My Tigrex Armor (with Titernia) gives:
Quick Eating Autotracker Earplugs Sharpening Skill Inc.
Also, should I change my tactic a little in case the second one comes out as I'm fighting the small one?
...I might just refer to the small Rajang as Vegeta and the big one as Goku, because for some reason, the similarities between the short Rajang (Vegeta is short) getting kicked around at the start seems like Vegeta. XD

This is a tough one, I don't think I bothered with this quest until after I reached G Rank, and I used Hammer on them... or was it gunlance... Unless you really want to beat this thing as you are, I would suggest waiting to do this quest. Also, despite the rarity of drops, do your best to get them and upgrade, it really does make a pretty big difference.

And if I decide to wait, that means completing those two urgents that I have that are just not fun---well, High Rank Lao's more boring and hard to do solo at this point.
So, the quest that is really stopping me is the Dual Monoblos quest. My timing for their burrow attack is thrown off with how fast they do it now. I mean, the moment I have my weapon put away and throw the sonic bomb, they pop back up. xP

If you can't kill the first one in ten minutes, thus the second one comes out, use your traps and flash bombs now.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to wait a bit till you get a higher tier of equipment, the Rajang is an a** every way you look at it.
But with all fairness, G-Rank Tiggy solo is more of a pain than G-Rank Rajang(Double rage) solo, in my opinion at least. (Can't wait till portable 3rd with the redone hit boxes!!!)

MHFU is practically like training with weights on... in 5 times gravity. xD I am amazing at Tri, after having played MHFU.
However, I am thinking I really should take your advice. I can last ten minutes, but the moment I get that second one in, I'm barely able to keep up.

earplugs and high-grade earplugs mean nothing to the rajang- it's roar launches you flying anyways, so there's little point. titernia, as a dragon attribute weapon, would also be meaningless- Rajang has huge dragon res...
once the second one is in, if you find it necessary to play it safe, attacking once quickly and retreating each time the Rajang fires an electric ball, laser or drops down all spinny drenched in lightning would be pretty effective, especially if you could get art of unsheathing. Greatsword and longsword would be most effective for AoS, mainly GS.
Just remember that he's weak to ice and He follows a few of the same principles as the Tigrex- hopping back to go into rage, etc.

Yoru Kurotsuki Killed the Rajang with a fish (Crystallized Tuna), wearing nothing but Kirin armor X3 I killed him with that too, but cannot remember the armor I was using.... probably Obituary... On this note, just saying, G-Rank Rajang armor = the s**t! I got: Dragon Res + 10 Sharpness + 1 Art of Unsheathing Concentration Taunt (It's a negative skill, but it's good if you're playing with someone that's a gunner, and I love to have all eyes on me biggrin ) and I use a Great Sword biggrin White Fatalis G are my b*tches!!! Although they put up a good fight once they get their armor on sad

I waited until a little bit into high rank until being able to beat Dual Rajang. Lessee... what did I use... Narga? That sounds about right. I even used Narga on the G-rank. The evade distance up and constitution +2 is really nice, but adding evade +1... lets just say that they couldn't hit you if they tried. Even with the slow Greatsword. =3= b

Well, I'm working on getting an Ice SnS to get me something fast and capable of Guarding--Snow Venom won't help me much. XD
Anyways, I finished the Monoblos Urgent and got my 8 star quests started up. My Tigrex armor's starting to lose its uses as armor (beyond the abilities that allow for quick healing and easier fights). I'm working on getting Basarios S armor to hold me over until I get my footing against some of the new attacks (Garuga surprised me with the explosive bits of his attacks).
So, essentially, the Dual Rajang Quest is abnormally difficult for an elder quest? Are they weaker than a HR Rajang, making its difficulty just due to the second one being huge and coming out at the same time? ____________
I would like the people here who plan on giving me armor advice and such to keep in mind tat I haven't gotten to G-Rank yet. So, I might just turn this into a thread where I ask for advice on how to play.

You'll need high rank equipment to do this efficiently, using akantor chaos bow with load up, but if you dont i recommend you use either a high raw damage LS or hammer and just super pound the rear right leg, always move left, which is rajangs right about 2 giadrome away from him and you'll never get hit, i suggest you go all out on the 1st rajang, he can only be pitted when enraged, and hes a tough nut to KO.
Skill wise, evasion, sharpness+1 and any other offensive skill will do, I've done it with BBQ expert and fishing expert... lol
Edit: and yes they have less HP than the average high rank rajang

Akantor... xP I'm nowhere even near fighting him yet. Plus, I'm not big on gunning/bows. I mean, I like bows, but I rarely use them.
Currently working on beating HR Garuga, which has so far managed to screw me over in a variety of ways due to the effin' Bullfango in Area 3 (I think) of the Forest and Hills.
Whoever came up with the Rhenepolas and Bullfango needs to go in a hole and die. It wouldn't be so bad if the fireballs shot from Garuga did as much damage on them as me (I mean, they don't even FLINCH when they are hit). xD
