Dvija
User ImageDvija's heart was shattered into a million pieces.

His Tempest had forsaken him. This morning he'd woken and she was no longer by his side. She was nowhere to be found. He had fooled himself into believing that he would have her forever. He was stupid, he realized that now, and she was fleeting as the storm he'd named her after. When she'd left him she'd stolen part of his heart, and there was an emptiness that resounded in his chest.

Like a child, Dvjia paused on his way home, threw back his head and let out a long, mournful roar.

Har'koa
User ImageThey were safe and Koa knew it, but she had to pause in fear when she heard the roar ring out across the softly rolling savanna. They'd been skirting near a thick forest just in case they were approached from the rear by one of the Ligi -- as such, it would be easy to disappear into the thick brush if they did end up discovered by one of the deadly guards that may (or may not) have given chase to them.

"Did you hear that, Hayven?"

The sound had come from the forest, and Koa narrowed her eyes as she peered into the broad expanse of forest to her side.

"It sounded close."

He perked his head when the roar echoed throughout the forest. He stood for a moment, waiting for any kind of sound that someone was following the roar. But he heard nothing. If anything, he heard pain in that voice, not anger. He felt his heart pang a bit for the other, and he shook his head.

"Yeah I heard it, but I dont think we have to fear it." He said, looking at her with soft blue eyes.

"Someone sounds upset..Its rather sad." He said. He was a male of feelings. He was a sensitive, yet still manly fellow who wanted nothing more than happiness. But that didnt stop him from mourning for someone else.

Har'koa
Once Hayven said that they had nothing to fear, Koa grew a little more inquisitive. After all, what if the lion who had given that cry needed help? What if they were in danger? Koa doubted that would turut to be the case, but now she was curious. These days past had been full of freedom and Har'koa had grown a little more light-hearted and childlike with it.

"Lets find out where it came from," Koa grinned over her shoulder at Hayven before turning to face the forest.

Dvija
The ocean-colored lion heard voices nearby, but so lost was he in his grief that he paid them no heed. They could kill him for all he cared. He was a shell of the lion he'd been before he met his Tempest.

He was also a little melodramatic, but that was besides the point.

However, despite how melodramatic he was feeling, there was a sorry that he could feel darkening his emotions. Dvija was depressed and returning home to a pride that made him crazy.

He smiled at his companions curiosity and nodded. He supposed it was no harm to go find the source of the cry. And if it was they could run, right? They'd done it before they could do it again. With a chuckle, he followed obediently, ready to follow her to the ends of the earth if he had to. He loved her..and he couldnt wait to tell her.

They had walked into the forestlands and instantly the lands were darker. It was odd how trees could almost blot out the sun. He felt a chill of air blow at him and still he was warm. He supposed that was the good thing about his full thick pelt.

"Lets hope it isn't dangerous."

Har'koa
Koa shook her head, glancing over her shoulder at Hayven. "Even if it is," she said softly, wrinkling her nose at him, "you'd protect me, wouldn't you Hayven?" She didn't wait for an answer before moving forward to weave her way through the thick underbrush that grew around the trunks of the trees.

She didn't have to go far before spotting a brightly-colored lion. He stood in a small clearing, a small ray of sun dappling across his ocean-colored pelt. He looked melancholy and sad, his head dropped and his shoulders slumped as he stood there with his eyes closed.

"Hello?" Her voice was soft and hesitant. Was he okay? She couldn't tell.

Dvija
Dvija heard the female before he caught her scent, and only when she spoke did he make any sign of moving. His head, large and with a snowy mane that surrounded his face, lifted. Pale blue eyes slowly turned in her direction, though no other part of his body moved. Obviously a nosy female, and he wasn't feeling any sort of kindness towards the fairer sex.

Fairer, hah.

"What do you want?"

Hayven grinned. He would have answered but she was gone before he had the chance to utter a sound. But he did think it. Of course he would protect her. He'd protect her from anything.. he was pretty sure he would die one day protecting her, thats how serious about it he was.

He followed closely, and when she spotted the blue sad lion, he did as well. He blinked, cocking his head to look at the other male. He wasnt sure what was making the guy so upset, but he still felt bad about it.
Then his voice rang out, and it was a harsh few words that had Hayven frowning.

"Now,now. Im sure thats not the hello she was looking for." He said softly.

Har'koa
Koa knew what it felt like to be utterly hopeless, and in the short moment that she met the ocean-lion's gaze, she could tell that he was utterly and completely hopeless. She had to wonder what had broken him so, but she also realized that no stranger wanted to answer a million questions about himself.

He might only want to know that he wasn't alone.

"It's okay, Hayven," she whispered softly, daring to take one more step closer to the strikingly-colored lion, "He's sad. That's all."

Dvija
Dvija blinked slowly, watching the petite lioness move closer. How did she know how he was feeling? Glancing over her should at the male, he turned his attention back to the female that was now two steps closer to him than she had been moments before. Her eyes were warm as she watched him. He didn't know what it meant.

"I am sad," he said impulsively. "My heart has been broken in two and I am not sure how to pick up the pieces so that I might move on."

He watched her step closer, and he felt rather nervous. The male hardly looked able to up and stand, he didnt think he was much of a danger. But he was careful of Koa.. He loved her too much to lose her. So he stopped talking, but stepped closer with her. Sure it wasnt as close as she was, but with each step she took, he took one.

He looked between the two, and he saw the same expression in both of their eyes. He wasnt sure why Koa's eyes looked sad, but he supposed she was feeling what he was feeling.. and this male was broken.. He could tell just by the slump of his body.

Dvija
Dvija blinked slowly as he glanced over that the large male that hovered near the smaller, lithe female. He could sense that the male was quite protective of the female, and he couldn't blame him. Dvija had felt those same instincts when he'd been with his Tempest. Now he wasn't sure what to feel.

He wasn't sure how to deal with the emotions that threatened to choke him when he tried to speak.

Har'koa
"You must find the strength to do so. Not for your family or those who might love you, but for yourself. Only for yourself. Life will go on day by day, one after another, and you do not want to waste it." She paused, emotion clogging her voice when she spoke next.

"You do not know which day might be your last," she added, a shaky smile trembling on her muzzle. "Rejoice in each day you are given, stranger."

She turned to glance at Hayven, blinking rapidly while that tremulous smile clung to her lips. "Lets go," she whispered, moving past him. It was obvious she'd said all that she needed to.

He listened to what she had to say, and her emotion choked her words. His heart went out to her, and he hoped that he could make all that sadness she held go away. He wanted her to be happy, that was his only wish in life.
When she walked past, he smiled at her nodding at her request. He would go, as he really wasnt sure what to say to the male. But he knew he couldnt just stand there. He had to say -something.-

"She knows what shes talking about. Follow her advice." He said, rather awkwardly. He wished he hadnt said anything after that, but ya know.. maybe his words would make him feel better.. or at least offer support.

Without saying anything else, the male turned and looked towards his mate. Well, she wasnt officially his mate, but he wanted her to be. He needed to make it so.

But for now, he would happily follow her.

Dvija watched the pair leave, the sadness in his chest somehow lighter than it had been. The little lioness was right and he knew it, but it was going to be hard to let go of his Tempest. He would do it, though. He had to. Dvija was not the type of lion to live his life full of sadness and melancholy.

No, Dvija much preferred laughter and love to this endless ocean of sadness that seemed to have swallowed him.

Rising to his feet, Dvija turned towards home. Perhaps seeing his bird-muse, Circe, would help him recover. With her support and the love of his family, Dvija knew everything would be okay. It would take time and effort, but he would survive.
