Of Chaos and Harmony

About this: I'm basically creating this roleplay, since we should always be seeking to better ourselves, for once we have stopped doing that, we have become arrogant and complacent. Two traits I, amongst others find very annoying. Now this roleplay is based off a poem I wrote from Harmony's view.

The Poem

My eyes have grown unaccustomed to this light.
How long did I slumber?
What happened that I lie helpless, upon Death's Door?

I remember the Ancients.
I remember my Brother.
I remember our lessons,
Yet why not this?

I'm told They fortold that Chaos, my Brother,
Would one day rise against me. Could he be the one?

I remember the Battle, the forces gathered.
I remember the Ambush, the surprise along my face.
I remember the fighting.
The fighting, oh the fighting!
It made my heart cry in despair.

It seemed as though all were fighting.
All fought against each other,
all fought for no known reason, save for
That fortold day of reckoning
when Chaos would rule the world.

It makes me shudder as though cold.

Chaos struck me down as if I were nothing.
Chaos rules the realms now, though he should not.
Chaos has created anarchy where my heart reigned.
Chaos left me for Dead and took the Ancients away.

Now, what choice do I have?
I've no power left, Chaos took it away.
I can hardly stand, can hardly speak,
I object and cannot.

The Ancestors of Chaos and I
taught us many things,
And this one has stuck with me.
As I lie near Death
this thought remains:

"One sometimes has to adjust
to the evidence that remains"

I may only hope with all my being, shallow as it be,
That the mortals learned this as well.

Welcome to the Land of Eristaira

Welcome to the World of Eristaira, a land that is now only a shadow of its former glory. It's vast cities are in ruins and the Ancient Spirits have all been murdered by a Celestial Being named Chaos. People live in fear where the arts and laughter once flourished. Not many make it past twenty since medical care has declined to almost zero.

Several of the Celestial Beings have survived, yet they are too weak to challenge the tyranical Chaos. Only one could challenge him directly, and that was Harmony, the Twin of Chaos. She challenged him, as was custom when a ruler took power, for many thought him unfit to rule Eristaira. For many centuries the battle went on. Neither side gaining a firm advantadge, until a few decades ago when a mortal by the name of Dayvis found Harmony's camp. He had been hired by Chaos to attempt to attack her while she slept inorder to distract her. Harmony was pierced in the back by a knife, and Dayvis was killed by Chaos, but not before Chaos locked his sister away where she could not escape.

Every now and then, word will sprout of Harmony's Return. A group has been formed to search this out, yet many think it's for naught.

Accepted Proflies

Here's the accepted profiles.

My name is Fyralynne Delmoie, but I like to be called Fyra. I am 17 and I like guys.

People have told me that I hardly know what in the world that I'm talking about. They say that I'm too idealistic and unwilling to fight. That's not entirely true! I would fight if my life or the life of another depended upon it. If you gain my trust, then you'll have a great friend, but if you betray me, then you'll wish you were never born.

My past is pretty much like everyone else's. I was raised in the ruins of a small village, all my life hearing stories of how it used to be a great place to live, not to mention stories where life wasn't a constant fight for survival. That's all they were, right? Just stories? Yeah, I thought so too until a few months ago when I was sitting by the river. I was crying, due to the fact that my brother had been killed while out trying to get more supplies for our village. I didn't want to see anyone, and I didn't want anyone to see me, which is why I guess I saw Her. She had a shining aura about Her. I guess that's what made me look. She was gone by the time I wiped the tears from my eyes, but I could have sworn it was Harmony. That's why I joined the group. I'm tired of being told I'm wrong when I know I'm right.

I enjoy: the calming sounds of the river, my family, alone time, the night sky and eating meat.

I despise: losing somebody close to me, not having enough to eat, how the world works, unnecesarry violence, and watching someone die.

I fear Chaos and wolfs.

I hope for: my life to get better, or at least for me to try and make other's lives better.

I weild: I'm an archer. I've got a bow and a quiver full of arrows as well as a small dagger.

I look like a fairly nice person.

I'm Controled By: Vibrant Violet Violinist

Anything else you wanna know? I'm missing my big toe on my left foot. I don't remember how that happened, so it can't be that important.

My name is Prism Emperia , but I like to be called Prim
I am
17
and I like
no one at the present moment.

People have told me that I am an aggressive personality with a short fuse similar to a ticking time bomb. The old saying ‘making mountains out of molehills sometimes applies to me as I react to even the slightest provocation and my demeanor can sometimes be downright confrontational. My own temper can sometimes cloud my judgment and reason, and I often leap before I look. Of course, I don’t wish to be bitter and angry all the time, and I’m much more levelheaded and reasonable when I’m calm. People also tell me that I have the tendency to always talk. My mouth never seems to settle for being still and I’ll say anything to erase the silence, even insults.

My past is strange certainly, but not something so outlandish that it can’t be experienced by other people. It sounds like a sob story, but I don’t tell it for pity and sympathy. I tell it because it’s the truth.
My parents were the owners of a small convenience store in a village known as Atwell. Like every village surrounding it, the buildings had been ruined and my Father’s shop was one of the only buildings that were still fully operational. It gave my family quite an influence over the village. If our store was to go out of business and shut down, the village wouldn’t have any place to get common goods such as clothing and basic food preparing materials.
I wasn’t an only child. I had an older sister Elvida and a younger brother Kione. Our store and the living quarters above it were always lively with either the sound of us kids or of the costumers down below. Everything was happy, and life was picture perfect. Of course, all good things must come to an end, and the end to my happy life-and my siblings’-came after Elvida’s twelfth birthday and my father’s death. As the oldest daughter, Elvida expected to inherit the entire store and the majority of my mother’s will. Father though had seen that despite the fact I was only eight years old at that time, I was far more capable at handling business and accounting then my slightly vain and boy crazy elder sister.
Of course, that didn’t boil over well with Elvida. While my sister doesn’t have the fiery temper I possess, it doesn’t take a genius to know when she’s truly angry. She kept everything under a bright smile, but I couldn’t help but wonder just what she was trying to do behind our backs.
Naturally, I understood why Elvida wanted to inherit the store so badly, even if she hated accounting. Owning the convenience store in our village would mean a good position for her, and she would attract far more suitors with that position. It would offer a bright and glimmering future for her. What I didn’t know was her desperation to grab at that opportunity.
Elvida was good at waiting. She waited nearly ten years before she made a huge move. I didn’t even know she was trying to kill me at first, but the realization soon hit me. Unfortunately for my elder sister, I was too witty for her. Maybe it was because of sheer luck, but I somehow managed to veer past all her attempts to murder me.
I thought she’d give up, I really did. That’s why my guard came down. Instead, Elvida did the exact opposite. She went after another target-our brother Kione. What happened? I don’t know the details but I told him to run.
Did I really think we could outrun Elvida’s lust for power? No, I was probably just rebelling stupidly. It was around then though, deep in that thick forest at midnight, that I swear I saw her. Kione had already blundered far into the trees, where he’d be safe from harm. I had my back to a small clearing and just as I watched him go, a breeze flew by. For some reason, a nagging feeling forced me to turn around.
At that moment, I don’t know if I actually saw ‘Her’ or maybe just imagined her silhouette. Days later though, I firmly began to believe I really did see Harmony on that odd, moonless night.
My story ends there, or at least what’s important of my story has ended there. Four days after I saw Harmony, I left my village. Elvida didn’t try to stop me. Maybe because she already knew that if I was gone, the store would be hers. Or maybe she was actually genuinely sorry for her actions. I highly doubt the latter though.

I enjoy: listening to rock music, playing the piano, designing clothing, odd objects from around the globe, makeup, day time, sports in general
I despise: academics, following strict rules, nagging teachers, lustful people hungry for power, Elvida, darkness, staying idle, quiet places

I fear Elvida for being such a lustful person. I hope that her pursuit for ownership of the store is as far as she will take her yearning.
I hope for: the world to overcome the horrible conditions that now plague it and for Harmony to vanquish Chaos.

I weild: a long katana for normal, one on one fighting purposes. However, if I have multiple enemies, I often keep a CQB-R strapped right on my belt.

I look like a slightly odd person

Anything else you wanna know? Haven’t I told you enough? Well, I suppose I ought to tell you that I’m awfully tall for even a seventeen year old…and that I don’t attend school.

Fryalynne "Frya" Delmoie
17 Year Old Archer

A slender blond sat by the only river any could see for miles. She appeared to be humming a song of sadness, yet it was one of which came of the variety of not having a name. That group had grown larger and larger in recent days. A quiver sat upon her back, and a bow down by her feet, but she did not appear to want to fight.

'How many more days must I live like this Yagre? Living in misery whilst you are resting in peace?'the girl thought as she stuck a four-toed foot into the rushing, muddy water. The archer hoped to see someone. Not Yagre, she didn't want to see him again for a while. She still wanted to live. Even if it was a horrible existance.

The gentle swaying of the willow leaves brushing against their brethren...the sound of a languid river, its water flowing along at a smooth, leisurely pace...a bird's high, sweet tune signalling of bright days ahead...
It was a calming scene in general, yet the sole human figure subject to the entire scenery seemed not to take part in the surrounding peace. While her face, carefully hidden underneath long grayish colored bangs, remained impassive, her mind was working at a rapid pace.
In this day and age there was seldom time for a person to sit back and reflect on the particular day's happenings-not that there was much to reflect on in the first place. Prism hadn't known 'peace of mind' for many a long year, and she had the feeling that with the direction the world was spinning in currently, she wouldn't experience any feelings of peace for a long time to come.
Unfolding her legs slightly from beneath her hoop skirt, she absentmindedly stroked the tree branch she was sitting on with one hand. The bark sagged slightly underneath her weight, but something told her that there was no need to worry; the tree would not give any time soon. Neither would her own will.
In her other hand, Prism held a dark red apple. Though it was pressed tightly against her lips, her mouth made no move to actually open and sink into the crisp flesh. Indeed, the apple only seemed to serve to further advance her train of thought as she tapped it against her chin in a mesmerizing, thoughtful way.
Was this life now? A slow paced, detached world that didn't seem to be able to keep up with the workings of her fast mind? Ever since Prism had seen Harmony-or rather thought she had seen-the young woman had remained in the forest. Why? The main reason was that she could not head home. All that would be waiting for her there would be sorrow and anger. Her other reason was that for some reason, Prism hoped to find Harmony again.

Fryalynne "Frya" Delmoie
17 Year Old Archer

Frya sat upon her post along the muddied river, quite certain that she was the only one around. She pondered the possiblity that perhaps She would show again. The archer had thought that she had seen Harmony along her. If only she could be found again, or had been found a while ago. Then maybe her brother wouldn't have died.

As she sat humming her song and making smooth ripples in the current when she suddenly saw another figure across the stream. It appeared to be another female, but Frya was quite certain that it wasn't Harmony. After all, this girl seemed to be distraught. She watched the girl carefully, wondering just who she sided with.

Thoroughly bored with her own thoughts and the quiet, slow pacing of the environment around her, Prism let out a gusty sigh and one by one, her fingers released their grip on the apple and the red fruit fell to the ground in a matter of seconds. Even gravity seemed to be effected by an extreme slowness today. The apple seemed to take forever to reach the ground, and its bounces seemed halfhearted. With a roll, it covered the three feet towards the base of the lake and fell into the water with a slight plop.
As her eyesight trailed along the ripples that the apple surfaced, Prism noticed someone else on the other side of the stream; Another young woman, armed with a long quiver and arrows, was sitting on the opposite muddy bank. She appeared to be studying Prism intently, though not necessarily intently.
Guessing that this girl was probably weary as well, Prism wondered briefly what course of action she should take. If she ran away the other girl might suspect her of uncommitted crimes and various associations with the darker side. Straightening the tiny black velvet top hat positioned precariously on her head, Prism dropped lightly to the ground. The dark skirt she was wearing billowed out behind her, flaunting out the piano pattern embroidering the hem.
Of course, the girl had every right to stare. After all, Prism was decked out in a stiff blouse, 19th century style skirt and an odd looking hat. It wasn't typical forest attire after all.
Smoothing out her various clothing wrinkles, Prism turned towards the other side of the river bed and nodded stiffly to the mysterious girl. If the girl wanted to make conversation, she could. Prism though, wasn't about to instigate any sort of meaningless chit-chat.

As the archer studied the girl a bit more, she noticed that they were both staring right at each other, as if they were thinking along the same line of whether the other was friend or foe. It seemed to be forever before Frya pulled her bare feet up out of the water and onto the rock to dry. Her feet had gotten all wrinkely from the time spent submerged. She shook them out, focusing more on her feet than the girl and returned to their staring match.

After another long, awkward time of just staring at each other, Frya could have sworn that she had seen the girl nod at her. She smilled back. "Hello," she said cautiously. It would seem odd just to run away. After all, they could be on the same side, and that was a chance that Fryalynne Delmoie was willing to take. After all, what had she to lose?

Prism made the deduction from the girl's apparent friendliness that she too, really had nothing to lose from this simple conversation. That thought comforted Prism slightly and hesitantly, she replied back, "Hello to you as well,"
There was no need to raise her voice above a normal speaking tone. The atmosphere around the two girls was quiet to the point where a single pidrop could echo for yards on end.
For a brief moment, she wasn't exactly sure how to push the conversation onward. These last few weeks had been occupied entirely with evading older sister Elvida's plans to murder her and/or her younger brother Kione. In that time, Prism hadn't had a chance to take a step back and breathe. Nor did she have the time for human interaction. Her only thoughts had been to survive, to thrive, and to foil every single scheme coming her way.
Now though, in the quiet depths of the forest with another living soul standing not twenty feet from her, Prism felt strangely out of place and queerly alone. She could have waited a moment for the other girl to initiate the second part of the conversation, but it would just be plain rude for her to only answer and not to ask.
Taking a small breath, the words were out of her mouth before she realized it. "What are you doing here?"
Immediately, Prism mentally reprimanded herself. What kind of useless, nosy question was that? Did she care what this stranger was doing in the forest? Well, the tiny voice in the back of her mind answered yes, but Prism doubted knowing the answer was going to help her any.

Frya was glad that the girl seemed to be wary. It meant that she was likely running from something, or even searching for Her as well. After all, in times like this, more trusting people could be seen as agents of Chaos. They weren't exactly people the archer would fancy herself hanging around anyways. They were sort of brutish.

The girl's question came unobstuctedly. Nothing could stop it, and likely all could hear it thanks to the forest's current state of silence. Frya sighed a bit. What was she doing there? After all, she had people who still cared about her in the village, even if she didn't really care for them. Frya was quite convinced they were the ones behind Yagre's death, and for all she knew they could even be the reason that she only had nine toes!

"I was thinking," she said carefully and a bit cautiously at first. "And looking for someone." The last part came as a surprise to Frya. After all, what if she had just given away one of Harmony's secrets? She mentally shrugged and realized she could likely lie her way out. It wasn't her favorite thing to do, but she would do it to protect Harmony.
