Backround
Guntram came from a family of nobles and married Sonje, a nobleman's daughter, to help strengthen his ties in Saxony when he was to become the Duke of Saxony. He was already known to be the head of the "House of Hramn", them being known for there dealings in dark ways, such as the death and cruelty known to the world at this time. Guntram can be cruel and hateful at times, but his wife, Sonje, is wise for her age and knows when to stop her husband and not let him get to far out of hand. She really is the only one able to do so with out fear of her life.
Guntram is now the Duke of Saxony and even with his cruel ways, he has control over Saxony and most of the vassals in it, but that is out of fear of him and what he can do. Some say crossing Guntram, will bring death, there are even rumors you see a raven watching over you before your death is to come. That rumor got him the nickname "The Raven". He has been the Duke of Saxony for about fifteen years now, getting the title when he was twenty-one years old and inherted it through the death of his brother, some say he had him assasinated. Guntram is still cruel minded and vengeful to those who he thinks deserve it, though he does listen to his wife at times, though only when what she says has some real standing in the matter and can be used against the person in due time.
Guntram and Sonje have two children; a boy, Azzo, and a little girl, Svanja. That each have there own roles in there parents life, that seems to keep everything flowing within it. Azzo is not much like his father at all, but much more like his mother in the ways of being sweet and caring to the ones around him, but he can be stubborn like his father when it comes to getting things he wants. While his sister, Svanja, is much like both her parents in such as being; sweet and intelligent, but tending to cause trouble but being calculated in how she does it so very rarely does she get blamed for what she does.

A letter has arrived.
My Lords,
A tragedy has occurred recently for the house of Alderkind. My cousin Erland was found murdered in his residence. The most disconcerting piece of information about the occurrence is that there was a black raven’s feather placed upon the corpse. I am not going to point any fingers in this. I am going to play the trusting Duke and assume that it is someone trying to stir up turmoil for unknown reasons. If anyone has any information leading to the capture of the man responsible for the death of a member of the Alderkind family, it would be greatly appreciated. I do not mean to let this act to go unpunished. I have sent this to all who would need to know this information. Thank you for your time, and watch your backs. There may be knifes in the shadows for us all.

Guntram glanced up from the dinning room table where his family sat eating at the sides of it, while he sat at the head of the table. He noticed the messenger walking in with a platter in hand that would have the message on it. Guntram signaled for the man to bring the message to him so he may read it. He soon was handed the letter that had been sent by the Duke of Swabia, which caused Guntram to tense up slight though he did not hesitate to open it and read what he was sent.
Guntram sighed as he closed the letter and stood up with a nod towards his family."Excuses me, I must go and clear my mind, for my head suddenly hurts."He walked out of the room with out another word the letter still in hand. Guntram headed into his study where a stove was lit to keep it warm. He walked over to it and tossed the letter and the envelope it came in, into the flames watching it burn. ۞The۞Raven۞

A letter has arrived..
To the Lords of the Lands and my Friends,
I understand that a Tragedy has occurred for the house of Alderkind, and there is much that seems to be unsaid in what has happened. In a weeks time I will be holding a meeting between all the parties necessary for the talks of what has happened, I invite you all to my home and look forwards to seeing you all once again.

Guntram sat in his study writing up a letter that would offer a treaty between himself and Bavaria, knowing he did not care for the current King and he would soon need an ally for the trouble that was to come from the death in the in the Alderkind house.
'Dear Duke of Bavaria,
I have a proposal to offer you that would be helpful for both parties involved. I know of your problems with the Magyars and how they are draining out your resources. I will help you with defeating them and replenishing your resources, for I understand the problems with barbarians such as the Magyars and know how troublesome they can be to a man in your power.
As you can easily see, the other Dukes, including the King himself, have yet to extend an offer of any type of help to you or I, to help us deal with those horrid barbarians, forcing us to deal with them as they hide themselves behind us.
I would like to propose that the Duke of Saxony signs a treaty with the Duke of Bavaria, promising that we will help one another defend against any attacks by our enemies.

He soon finished the letter, starting to fold it before he would put a seal of his family crest on it and send it along with the treaty to be signed to the Duke of Bavaria hoping it would all go smoothly. Guntram looked up to the diplomat that would be taking the letter to Bavaria for him and seeing that all would go nicely, unless the man(The Diplomat) wished harm to his family."Take the letter directly to Victor, the Duke of Bavaria, and do not stop for no one until you get there."He spoke firmly to the diplomat handing the letter over to him, hoping everything would work out well in the end of all this.. ۞The۞Raven۞

A letter arrives from Bavaria. It so brief as to be almost insulting, but the messenger assures the duke that it was written by the duke before his very eyes.

I accept your offer of a treaty of defense.

Guntram sat at his throne dealing with the problems that Saxony still had within, having no real fear of them, as the letter arrived and was read. He stared at the man as he was assured that it came from the Duke and no one else. Guntram nodded slowly as he stared at the piece of paper starting to show a dark tone smile that most would see as evil intent was to follow. He slowly stood up walking out of the room ready to go and take care of the problems and fulfill his promises to Bavaria by sending supplies and troops from Saxony to help support the Duke as the treaty would agree to.
Guntram headed to his study getting ready to write out the letters to the commanding officers who would be going with there troops along with the supplies that would be taking with them down to Bavaria. He looked up with a soft sigh as he finished the last letter his messenger coming over to collect, only standing a few feet away in silence before then."See that each one is delivered and make sure everything goes smoothly till they are about to leave for Bavaria."Guntram nodded back as the man agreed before taking the letters and leaving with out another word. ۞The۞Raven۞
