Tikandari smiled happily from her place perched on a rock. The sun was high in the sky and the pride was busy, but she was alone. As per usual. Other than the kind male, Karo Karo – which was not his name, but a nickname she had given him due to the shock of red on his chest – she didn't know many people in the pride very well, so she felt awkward approaching anyone. And so she was often by herself. Not that it bothered her, she was quite comfortable on her own, but...she had joined the pride to be part of something, not to be alone.

She was slightly tired of being alone.

She slipped from the rock, landing on her feet with a determined look on her face. She would find someone and have a conversation – and practice her speaking at the same time! It was perfect. She smiled to herself, pleased, before freezing and looking around.

But...her determination did not change the fact that still didn't know anyone.

She winced at the idea of approaching a random person. What if she messed up the greeting? They'd think she was crazy, or stupid – and she'd never be able to truly avoid them, since they would live in the pride with her.

Hmm, perhaps this socialising idea was not a very good one...

Shiriki spent very little of his time by himself. He was constantly out doing as many things as he could and he liked to talk to as many others as he could. Shiriki was a bright lion and enjoyed as much company as he possibly could. He enjoyed the company of others and he was pretty sure that others enjoyed the company of him. He loved being able to spend time with others that was for sure. He loved it so much, he didn't like spending time where he wasn't with some one else. Yes he was okay with not spending time with some one. However right now he was really in the mood for spending some time with some one.

He paused for a quick moment before trotting happily out of his den, he popped into his parent's house earlier and now he was going to head over to do something else, see who he could meet into the pride. His mane was growing in but at the same time he was still young he was still full of energy. He paused for a moment and trotted around that was until osme one caught his attention. It was a lioness that he had never seen before, he was happy to see the lioness, he was hoping that the lioness would spend some time with him he was hoping to. He was trotting to her with a smile on his face before he chripped out. "Hello there!"

Tikandari self-consciously scanned the area for anyone she knew - which was...two people, but still, perhaps she would get lucky? After a moment, she deflated slightly, realising that the two males weren't around. She really needed to make some more friends, she groaned inwardly, but startled at the sound of a greeting being called out to her.

Her eyes glanced around, trying to spot where the greeting was coming from. She spotted the adolescent male soon enough, the smile on his face relaxing her nerves slightly.

"Hello," she called back, her voice only giving away the slightest of accents. She had said 'hello' so many times that it was a familiar word, so she didn't have to worry about slipping up on it that much. After a while, the words everyone else spoke became as familiar to her as her own language, but it took a while. She still slipped up occasionally though, but Karo Karo was helping her not do it as much.

She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it again soon enough, realising she had no idea what to say next.

Shiriki looked at the lioness curiously as he watched her. He was pretty sure that he had never seen her before around here. He had been born into the pride and he had never seen her before, because of that the lioness perked his interests. He enjoyed seeing new faces around the pride and when he did he liked to get to know them. He really liked to get to know them. He really enjoyed meeting the new members of the pride when he could. He took a second before getting closer to the lioness as she greeted him back.

"It's nice to see a new face around here." He told the lioness cheerfully, Shiriki was generally a cheerful lion and he liked to act cheerful as much as he possibly could. He found no reason to carry around any kind of emotions other than being cheerful. He took a moment and smiled at her before flicking his tail around behind him. He was used to some one else being as friendly as he was when he talked to them and she seemed a little quiet which confused him, he wasn't used to others being quiet. He smiled brightly at her before deciding that he was the one who would have to carry on the conversation and he was pretty okay with it. "It's a nice day out today." He commented simply looking up at the sky before chuckling and then moving a little closer to her once again. "What is your name miss?" He asked her curiously, "My name is Shiriki."

Tikandari flushed with embarrassment at having been picked as a new member immediately, but she supposed that was due to the fact the pride members probably knew each other pretty well, having grown up in the pride, not because of an accent or some sign that just said ‘NEW PERSON’ about her. Hopefully.

She smiled at the talk of the weather, feeling rather awkward about how to respond to his comments, grateful when he asked a direct question. That she could answer! “My name is Tikandari,” she said, sounding lightly accented, except for her name, which flowed off her tongue easily. “It is nice to meet you, Shiriki.” His name did not flow easily, but she managed it. It didn’t sound exactly like how he’d said it, but it was…close?

She offered him a smile, hoping he wouldn’t notice her terrible pronunciation of his name,

If there was one thing for sure Shiriki always enjyoed the company of others and to have the company of this lioness was very nice to the male, he enjoyed the fact that he could spend some time with some one and they were okay with his company. He hoped that the other enjoyed his company anyway. He was a friendly lion and he felt that he was pretty easy to get along with. He was hoping that others felt the same way though on the otehr hand. "That is a very nice name." He commented to her as he started to think her name over and over again in his mind, trying to commit it to memory.

"Well you can call me Shi, a lot of people do, my mom decided a complicated name was good to name me with." He chuckled a little and then winked at her before Turning and looking around. "Would you like to join me for a walk?" He asked her curiously wondering if the lioness was comfortable enough with joining him for a little wandering. "I was thinking about heading over to the watering hole for a little bit and enjoy the water around this time of the day, I hope you will enjoy giving me some company there?"
