Lattice paced a bit around her room. Despite any such attempts there was no real way to calm the Engraver down. She just knew something had happened to her sister! Something terrible. Something awful. She just knew that Needle had been punished and locked away where Lattice couldn't get to her anymore or even worse her Sister had been made an outcast and thus her arms were removed. That was the only possible reason Lattice could think of that caused the letters to stop.
She was close to deciding just to pack up and go back home to see what had happened to Needle and to make sure she was alright.
Yes she should go about doing that. She could always return once she was sure Needle was safe. Lattice started to gather a couple of things to take with her back home humming a little to herself to soothe her wracked nerves.

Needle had Mot take her to the Ghost dorms, and refused to let the boil leave until she had found her sister. All in all her threat wasn't very valid, with the mask on her sight was terrible, it would have been pretty easy to turn, flee and never be found...but still, it seemed to work with the least amount of effort, and there she was. The boil had been dismissed once the door was found, and even then it was easy enough to find it; there was trace of ink on the door, in fingerprints that she, oddly enough, recognized.
Oh, Lattice.
The Engraver stood in front of her Sister's door, fidgeting with the frayed edge of her obi. It donned on her then that she hadn't sent letters at all since she got her acceptance...oh Jack, what would her sister think?! Maybe Lattice exploded with worry! She often pictured her sister able to do that; just, swell up until one of the passing arm needles poked her until little Lattice pieces were everywhere! Oh jack oh jack oh jack please let Lattice be in one piece!
Holding her breath, she reached out and knocked lightly on the door.

Lattice paused as she heard the knock on the door. Who could that be? She certainly wasn't expecting anyone to come visit her. Maybe she was needed by Xiu again? Perhaps it was someone else? Oh Jack what if it turned into a room party like what had happened at that one Boil's dorm. She wasn't sure she could handle that stress right now especially when she needed to get ready to go and make sure her sister was alright.
Abandoning her pile of stuff on her bed she drifted over to the door and opened it wide. At first Lattice didn't seem to digest that it was her sister until it finally hit her and suddenly the ghoul felt overjoyed and ecstatic and so many things all at once. Her sister was here! Needle was actually here! .. She hoped.
"Needle!" She suddenly shouted an octave or two above her usual monotone showing excitement and adoration, "Y...You're here!" tears of joy welled up behind her mask.

There was an awkward second or two where neither Engraver said a word. However short the actual time was, it felt like forever to the blue clad sister.
"Lattice!" Needle called when she could no longer keep her silence, using the same octave her sister produced. Lattice was still in one piece! Sure it disproved her theory of explodable!Lattice, but...oh hell, at least she was still together! "You're okay!" Was her instant reply, dropping her bag to reach out to hug her favourite ghoul; however with the spikes, it meant they had to get very close, and Needle's elbows rested on Lattice's shoulders, forearms draping behind her.
"Oooh I missed you!" She gave Lattice a little squeeze before leaning away again, ink stained hands falling to rest on her shoulders. "You have been well? Nobody has done anything to you?"

Lattice even let out a small happy squeal-like sound as her sister stepped forward and 'embraced' her she gave her sister little kisses on the cheek out of joy once they were close enough. It was so wonderful to have her sister so nearby so wonderful indeed, "I could say the same about you," she said back to Needle, "I was about to come looking for you." It was part chiding and part getting her worries out to her sister letting her know she was worried.
When they parted she stayed close enough so her sister could place hands against her shoulders. The red-clad Engraver positively trembled from joy.
"I missed you too!" More tears welled up behind her mask dripping down her cheeks she wiped at them stubbornly. She just felt so happy, "N-No..Not really. Everyone has been very kind..."

"I am so sorry! Please do not be mad! I just...I had to get out of there. I did not anticipate it would take that long to arrive." It was difficult to look as apologetic as she felt, and the emotions that tore through Lattice wrecked their havoc on her as well. Tears escaped from under her mask, but unlike the other, she did not wipe them away. In this instance, it was okay to show this emotion. They weren't with the clan anymore.
"Good." Relief flooded through her, a heavy sigh leaving her as if all of her troubles were just swept away. Instinct allowed Needle to press her hands against the sides of Lattice's face without either ghoul's spikes getting too much in the way. She leaned her forehead against her sister's, a smile still plastered on her face. Oh Lattice, oh her dear sweet Lattice, back in her life!
The blue clad ghoul leaned up to kiss her sister's forehead and took a moment to brush her fingers through a few strands of the hair she missed so much. "Let me see your room?" Her subject changes were as subtle as a brick through glass. "And you must tell me everything!"

"I forgive you," she said simply and effortlessly. Lattice would always forgive Needle it didn't matter if her Sister got the apology out or not in its entirety. She just simply forgave her without any further need to hear anything else, as long as Needle was there and whole she was happy and at peace once again. With Needle nearby again she felt whole once again.
Lattice leaned into the touch and small bits of sisterly affection. She missed her sister so much it made her ache but now she was here and Lattice also smiled in spite of her own tears which still seemed insistent upon pouring down she'd given up on wiping them away for now.
Her eyes closed behind the mask at the kiss on the forehead and after a moment she let out a deep sigh she stepped away though she did reach to grasp at her Twin's hand so as to lead her further into her room, "Oh Sister, it is such a mess now," she said to Needle as she gestured around at her room, "but here. Look! I have made it like home almost."
"I have been meeting other people as well, I would like for you to meet some of them," Lattice chattered at Needle in a cheerful sounding tone. For one being so disciplined it seemed the Engraver dropped her wall fairly fast thanks to friendly people at the academy.

Deep down she knew that Lattice would forgive her, but the relief came regardless when the words were said. It was a confirmation, and it was one she needed and wanted. More importantly, Lattice took her hand. Needle enjoyed physical touch; even something as simple as hand holding made her entire day, and it was just another thing in a long of great things to happen today.
"Your room? A mess? Who are you, and what have you done to my sister?" Needle teased, her fingers giving Lattice's a little squeeze. Lattice, being messy? Blasphemy! Upon seeing the room though, she believed her. It was a big surprise, but...an amusing one. The ghoul started to chuckle, however low. "Imagine what the old bat would say?" More giggled followed, and she carefully crossed the almost-familiar room to sit on the cot, pulling Lattice to sit beside her.
"I would love to meet your acquaintances, sister. Why, just on the way in I met a charming boil named Mot!" She was beaming, happy to have met someone so soon. "Tell me of these people of yours!"

Lattice ducked her head a bit at the teasing feeling a little shamed at the condition of her room, "I know," she murmured softly chuckling lightly at the tease despite how momentarily guilty she felt over the state of her room. Lattice willingly settled near her sister on the cot and smiled lightly, "She would probably tell me to clean everything right this instant and to not dawdle. Also? Stop smiling so much, you bring shame to your training." She tried and failed to mimic the Elder Engraver's voice toward the end.
"Mot, I know of him...I accidentally wandered into his room one day...I had gotten lost on my way to my room and I wasn't paying enough attention," she murmured bashfully. "B..But I met lots of people while I was there...! There was supposedly a party or something but I ended up spending most of my time with Hel. I met Hel at the library a couple of days after I moved in, she is very kind. She has many sisters." Lattice was naturally only starting on the list of people she'd met while apart from her sister chances were she'd probably repeat herself just to keep talking to her sister.

"..Pffft..." Needle snorted when the impression started, and before she could help it she was laughing. "Y-yes!" She worked hard to control her laughter, and while it may have subsided she was still grinning wide. "You are still smiling! Stop this foolishness immediately!" Needle tried to mimic back, but alas she was still too amused to do it properly. They failed at mimicry, apparently.
Needle nodded, definitely pleased she had already met one person whom her sister had recalled meeting. Perfect, she was already on her way to meeting them all! She was now making a list of them in her head, starting with this ghoul named Hel. "I can never imagine needing more than one." She shuffled a little on the cot, sitting on her knees to make herself more comfortable. "Is the library as impressive as it looked during the open house?" It was a side question at best, but she figured that Lattice would continue with her story regardless.

Lattice giggled softly at Needle's continued impression of their elder and nodded a bit, "Also stop that laughing or else I'll make you scrub the floors again!" She added but honestly their punishment might have been much more severe in the end if it was truly the Elder and they didn't stop showing emotion. It was better to pretend their lives were lighter it made the dark days seem like nothing at all.
"She seems to love her family though we did not stay on the topic for very long. She is very kind. I think you'd like her. She might want a tattoo one day," her voice dipped lower toward the end as if talking conspiracy, "I told her to come to us if she ever decides she wants one for sure."
It wasn't often Lattice stuck herself out like that to someone. Hel must have left an impression on her.
"Oh yes the Library is very nice, just as before. I also got to meet Lizzy and talk to her for a while, she is very kind, she offered to carry around a bit of ink on her person so I can always see her in a crowd," Lattice explained, she sounded rather touched by the offer.

Needle was lost to a fit of giggled, shaking her head at the immitations. She really had nothing else to add; that was pretty much their life back home, wasn't it?! Hahahaaa.
"...! A tattoo, you say?" Needle's fingers brushed against her chin reminiscent of a villain, managing to look thoughtful without eyes to betray expression. "Lattie, I am so proud of youuuu~" She drawled out, brushing her fingers through her sister's shorter bangs. "Look at you, doing things!" Which really meant EVERYTHING!
"Lizzy was the name of the ghoul that Petro wanted us to meet, correct?" She mused, recalling that name from somewhere else. Before Lattice could continue though, Needle couldn't resist piping up again. "Mot let me wear his hat!" Wiggling on the cot, she reached up to hold the top of her head. "Hats are wonderful, Sister! He said he would take me to get one!" She paused as though remembering something.
"Oh, and I have to make another obi. I hurt him and it was the only bandage I had..." Err, whoops.

Lattice actually giggled slightly at the praise and nickname, "Thank you. I try my best for you," she replied simply happy that her Sister was so pleased with her progress so far. Even Lattice was impressed with the strides she had made when interacting with others and doing ALL THE THINGS that she possibly could while her Twin was apart from her.
The Engraver nodded, "Yes, she is very kind. You would like her I think. She offered to make me some new clothes. It seems odd to her that we only have this one outfit in our wardrobe. Is it really that strange?" Lattice asked her Sister curiously wanting to see her input. When Needle told Lattice about the hat she gave a small chuckle, "Oh! That sounds like fun."
"Oh dear, what happened?" Lattice asked as her brow furrowed a bit.

"I know you do." Needle said fondly, patting her sister's hand. She really did improve!
"Hm..." Was their wardrobe so unusual? The ghoul picked at her torn obi for a moment or two before smoothing it out down her legs as she sat. "I...did not think so? Petro seems to wear similar clothing daily. Perhaps it is a cultural difference?" That seemed like the best option, seeing as a lot of cultures often showed up in a lot of various ways and clothing styles. "It seems dangerous for us to choose outfits." Needle commented idly, picking at a slowly moving void she saw on her trailing obi; apparently it was a little spider wanting attention.
"It will be very difficult to tell what belongs with what." She giggled quietly, moving the little spider back on to the floor. As the conversation drifted towards Mot, Needle's cheeks dusted with colour; luckily it was something neither could see.
"He...informed me that you were safe and well." A smile formed on her lips and warmed her voice. "I will admit to being overcome with emotion, but I will not apologize for that." The last part she said slowly, tasting the freedom on her tongue and knowing there were no other engravers here. "I hugged him close, and I am afraid I got stuck in his back; I believe we were very intimate then." She giggled quietly, pressing an ink stained hand against a pale cheek.

"I see," Lattice murmured thoughtfully and shifted her shoulders, "Lizzy and I plan to make a dress together. She makes the dress and I get to draw what I desire on it with ink. I hope it turns out well I shall have to make inks special for it so that the ink does not run when the dress get washed."
She smiled a bit when Needle spoke of Mot. Yes, Mot was a very nice and good boil, she approved of him. Lattice giggled slightly, "The Elders aren't here I suppose there is nothing to apologize for," she said softly sounding almost mischievous, clearly Lattice was enjoying the freedom for the moment. Her eyes widened a bit as her own cheeks dusted with color, "It sounds like what happened to Petro and I...I had become so overcome with worry and concern for you that...I embraced him, it was a very painful moment for him. I hope he doesn't hate me," Lattice's tone was more mournful than anything else.
"After I had embraced him Petro stayed with me so I wouldn't be so lonely without you. It helped some but having you here is so much better, Sister." Lattice said as fondness crept into her voice, "I have so much to show you and tell you about."
