The decision has been made:
We all go down together... but there's someone out in the desert who doesn't seem to have gotten the memo!
Quote: They'd seen her twice now, wandering out in the wastes.
At first Veru had thought her a member. Certainly, she was attractive enough! What with that bright red fur, sleek dark markings and eyes that seemed to... well, in any case Veru hadn't given her much thought! It was a large pride, after all. And while he'd been around for longer then he'd been a formal member, he'd spent a lot of that time in the wards. It wasn't unheard of for Veru not to know who the lioness was.
"It's Uriah," Ea informed him. "We see her now and then. Some freak lioness left out from the safi break. Apparently she wasn't a member of either pride."
"Seems odd that she'd run around without anyone to stop her," the white lion mused.
"Aunt Kaanga has some sort of connection to her, I don't know. The guards leave her alone as long as she stays off the lands. She's a nuisance. With all the water problems, I'm surprised there hasn't been an effort to kick her out for good. It's bad enough we have to feed rogues like you, but non members? Who needs them?" The medic's nose crinkled bitterly.
It did get Veru thinking, however. If this Uriah was supposedly out on her own, in the middle of the desert...
Why did she look so healthy?

 That's right, it's game time!
We've got a different sort of event for you this time. Veru is organizing a manhunt to find Uriah. What does she know that everyone doesn't? Well, we're going to have to chase her down to find out!
The game will be simple. Think of it as tag. Veru will start us off. The last sentence of the RP will not be finished, or will end in a question. Remember those choose your own adventure books? Yeah, it's a bit like that!
You then must:
1. Continue the story! Make up whatever you'd like to fit the last sentence of the RP! 2. At the end of your post, you must either: ask a question, or leave the last sentence trailing. Let the next person finish your last thought. Please keep it one-two sentences, and bold it. 3. The next poster responds to your question, and poses another question at the end of his/her post.
These do not have to be questions, per say. They can be actions. For example:
1. The wind is blowing, and there is a scent in the air. It seems to be... 2. Suddenly, the ground starts to shake... 3. There is a ridge in front of them, and they can just barely make out the shape of...
Think of it like the 'finish a story' game. We're all going to be contributing to this crazy story. But okay, lets make some ground rules:
You may not:
1. Discover water. 2. Invent lions, or wild animals to attack. Accidents are fine, but remember, we're on a manhunt! We're not rescuing anyone today! 3. Do something completely ridiculous. Like, "AND THEN THE DRAGON DESCENDED. WHAT DO YOU DO?!" 4. Direct your question or action to a specific lion. You can obviously react to other lions, but don't specifically phrase your end question so that only a single lion can respond to it. 5. Please reserve your post first, particularly at the start so people know you are working on an answer. Do NOT just abandon your post, however. Please respond to it immediately. 6. This RP may move fast, due to the nature of it. However you may jump in at any time. We're going to go on the assumption that no matter how bizarre the plot gets, your character was there for it. [Should you post at all. If you never post, well, then you weren't here!]
Should someone do something absolutely insane, I will step in and invalidate the last RP.
However, don't be afraid of being creative. This RP may turn out a little zany. As long as you keep the prompt and overall goal in mind, well! We can do whatever we want!

Okay, yeah yeah. So what do you get?!
Well, other than having a zany RP! All posts will be added to a raffle, as per usual. The winner will receive TWO LIONS. One for themselves, and the other for their friend to continue the plot we do during the RP.
More info about these two lions will be given out during the RP! Because they are rehomes, they come with some plot and information for you! One of them even happens to be a seer...
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. [say whaaaat...!]
The person who provides the most entertaining responses, will receive the eagle, Bhjara! She's scary, I ain't gonna lie to you all. Hide your cubs!
Note: You may only win a max of 2 lions // 2 familiars during these plot events <3 If you have already received your maximum limit, you will simply be playing for the fun of it.
[ heart Big thanks to Kael for donating Haru to the plot! heart ]

EXAMPLESQuote: Hraga wasn't having a good day. Guard practice had been particularly rough, and by the time he finally settled down the young cub was hot and tired. His paws had blisters, and his eyes stung of sand. But most of all, he was thirsty. It was becoming a theme these days.
Licking his dried lips, the cub pulled his paws underneath his chin. The last thing he was thinking of was going on any sort of adventure.
But just as he started to close his eyes, he couldn't help but notice... Quote: ...a large bird in the sky!
"Hey doofus," Tarsa started without much introduction. "You see that huge bird out there?" When Hraga showed no signs of movement, he started to shake the child in agitation.
"Wake up! You! Hey come on, you're missin this cool bird," Tarsa started to beat Hraga over the head with the flat of his paw. He'd forgive him later. After all, it looked like the bird had something in its talons!
Squinting his eyes, it looked to be... Quote: ...a turtle!
Wait, what? Hraga opened his eyes sleepily and looked into the sky. Tarsa was right- the bird up there was huge, and in its talons looked like a baby tortoise! Now that wasn't something you saw every day? "What the..." Hraga started. He sat up, pulling his paw to his chest. "It's...it's a turtle!"
"Why is it flying up there like that?" He blinked, moving slowly around. The shadow of the bird stroked across them like a cape. "Do you think it's about to-"
Then suddenly, the turtle started to... [You'll never find out what happened to that turtle.]

He decided to set out in the mid afternoon, about the time he'd last seen Uriah. It hadn't been too hard to gather up a gaggle of other lions- after all, with the desert burning down and water rations shrinking, just about everyone had some anxiety to burn off. It didn't help that Veru had also made a series of elaborate promises, none of which he had any intention of keeping. At least not in the way that they were expecting.
That was a problem for another day!
For now, he was busy keeping his mind on the desert ahead. It wasn't dark yet, but the sky was starting to bleed into night with a brilliance very few horizons could match. "Alright troops," the white lion said, looking back at the ground surrounding him. "We've got a couple of ways we can go. Our goal is pretty simple. We're going to find this outsider and-"
"Kill her!" Hraga shouted.
"Uh...no, we're...no we're not doing that. We're just going to find her and ask some questions," he instructed. "And if she doesn't have answers, we'll ask her to leave. I think the best thing to do is head out towards the ridges to the east. That's the best place to hide, and it'll make for some tricky hiking."
"But best to stick together. This one is a slippery one, and we'd be better off surrounding her then slimming our forces down and having her sneak away," he continued. "Any further questions? No? Okay. Let's have a manhunt."
But just as the group started to set out, a strange noise could be heard in the distance. It sounded a bit like...

...A wilddog howling. Odd to hear wilddogs this far out in to the desert. Ea'Pavlov had joined the hunt. He wasn't much for hunting really he was more of a seek water and you shall find it kinda guy. He was good at his job, normally, but at the moment he was being stymied by bad luck and sucky fortunes. he had been hanging around when he had heard about this Uriah, she sounded strange and very clever, to survive out there alone in the desert. She must know something very magical, he thought. He had followed the group to join the hunt for her maybe, just maybe he could get some really brilliant insight about the world from her, or, or just about finding water. To survive alone, well that took guts and ingenuity, things he just didn't have at his young age. Just as he was thinking about ingenuity he turned his head and looked directly at...

A set of pale eyes.
Gasping upon being spotted, a small lioness ducked her head under the jutted stone she was hidden amongst. Oh gosh, I hope they didn't see me..., the juv hoped dearly. Unfortunately, she'd gotten separated from her family in a migration past this area, and had been left stranded in the desert lands. With barely any food or water, she was desperate to find some by any means! ...and she'd been following this little group for awhile now. Obviously they were living, which meant they must know a great place to find nourishment! Keeping along the sidelines, she stepped with caution from each step,
freezing as she heard someone in the pack below give out a growl, because...

... our intrepid group had come upon them.
A pack of dogs out on their lands? It looked like the guards really were lacking if there were a bunch of strange creatures roaming the sands. Looking for water, no doubt. What next? Well, maybe Uriah. That would have made this entire trip a rather casual jog, wouldn't it!
"Scram, mutts-" the tracker shouted out to the shadowy figures. "Don't you know there's no water here? We've already resorted to drinking the blood of our enemies. It's very vile, it truly is." Somehow this was less intimidating then Veru had intended, but the group of lions was more than enough to have them scatter the shadows into the wilds. The white lion made a mental note to alert the guards later.
"And what's this?" He said, noticing the younger lioness in the distance. A rogue? Things were strange! It looked like they'd be escorting more than one lion off their lands this afternoon! "Don't be afraid. I was joking about the blood of our enemies. Mostly. We're out on a hunt. You wouldn't happen to have seen a rather wild looking cat around here now, would y-"
Just then, Veru was knocked aside by...

Veru was knocked aside by Moto'Seide, the lioness' ears pinned and the beginnings of an agitated snarl on her lips.
"You're coming with us," she explained sharply to the lioness in question. These rogues were not being let out of her sight. Not until they were safely outside of the lands. As she could not see to it herself, the lioness would have to join them until Seide could properly escort her out.
"Veru." The lioness turned, surveying the male up and down, her tail flicking. "The wild-dogs can wait. I've been told you need watching." A collective group looking for a rogue was liable to have those with soft-spots, and Veru seemed to have one himself. They were more liable to come back with a horde of new members. The water crisis was bad enough without a horde of lions going on a long treck and making themselves thirsty.
"Alright, everybody." The lioness raised her head, and then fell short at the sight of a juvenille. "Really, Veru? You're letting the youth come along?"
The female was going to open her mouth once more, but then closed it, eyes narrowing. The turns of her paws led her, and presumably the group, up the ridge of a sand dune, scattering grains down the side.
They reached the top of the ridge, and peered down and saw. . .

...A vulture hovering.
Ea'Pavlov wasn't sure if this was a good sign or a bad. After all vultures were usually a sign of something to eat..so why was this one hovering so close over head? He gulped, he was young and the vultures he had seen were huge great feathery beasts with hooked beaks and sharp claws and...well that was enough of that, he was big enough to take care of himself, still he wondered what that vulture was looking at. Surely it wasn't considering taking on a group of large lions? Maybe it was after the little rogue that seemed to be tagging along?
The young male turned around to speak flashing a quick glare at the older very pushy lioness. Clearly she didn't know what was what around here!
He snorted and turned to say something to someone else about the lionesses rudeness, when...

A loud string of cursing broke over the land.
Pulling back from the sand dune the lion had to swing his head in order to shake the scorpion from his nose. “Dammit!” Xennek squinted up angrily at the sky. “I swear if you don’t open up soon then I’m gonna come up there and kick you stupid clouds so hard that the rain will never stop! You d-“
Finally finished laughing at his friend’s antics of ‘water searching’ Sekayi managed to comment, “So we’ll die in a flood instead then?”
Xennek just glared at his smart-aleck of a companion, “If you aren’t gonna help then go back. Why did you come out here anyway?”
“Because you’re just too interesting.” Sekayi grinned back at him.
“You-“ Pausing Xennek turned to look around and finally realized that they had company. “Oh.”
Shaking his head Sekayi pushed past his companion to ask the group about what was going on when suddenly….

..the wind started to pick up.
It wasn't unheard of for sandstorms, but with the drought going on they seemed more common. This wind definitely had the feel of a sand storm to it, and it made Canicus uneasy. No, he had to be wrong. It wouldn't be good to get caught up in a storm out here in the open... though there seemed to be a few places to take cover around the group that had formed. His gaze shifted away from the ridges and instead headed for the horizon. His fur was kissed by another very slight, still warm breeze. Perhaps it would be a lighter storm, or perhaps there would not be one at all.
But what if this Uriah character spotted them from a long distance off, had other ways to get away from them? He frowned, gaze shifting toward the group. And if we cannot find her? The question did not pass his maw, he was content helping no matter the results and he'd rather save his breath. No time to waste it on simple questions during hard times.
But just when he turned to look back in the direction of the wind he spotted something curious, eyes narrowing. "What's that, over there?"

"It looks like a rock"
Aedan answered the question, squinting slightly to try and see through the wind blown sand. It was hard to tell really, certainly it was some sort of lumpy looking object, for all he knew it could just be an oddly shaped sand dune. Shaking his head slightly to rid the sand from his mane he glanced at the rest of the lions in his vicinity. So far they'd found nothing but what amounted to a wild goose chase and in this heat he wasn't fond of being lured away by another one - on the other hand it might be worth looking into. It might even provide a bit of shade or shelter from the wind.
"Should we go check it out anyways?"

"Why would we investigate som rock?" Hraga blinked, his eyebrows stitching together in thought. Was Uriah known to like rocks or something? Although, maybe they could drop it on her head if the right situation occurred. "Hey, actually that'd be a really good idea..."
The 'good' part of idea was up for debate. At least for Veru, who was still picking himself up. Despite Seide's interruption, the white male didn't seem all that phased. In fact, judging by the lazy smile upon his face, the shove hadn't been entirely unwelcome. "Watching?" he said with feigned surprise. "I had no idea I was so interesting as to require it! I'm sure you won't mind me returning the favor."
Once back on his feet, the tracker turned to face the wind and the ground below. "Hm." Up ahead, the terrain did get more rocky. One shape in particular stood out, but he didn't see how it could be related to their mission. "As much as I'd love to investigate the local stones, I'm under supervision! We must look professional. It isn't like rocks could be hiding-"
Just then, the rock lurched forwards. Had the wind pushed it? Or someone else?
It didn't matter, because it was suddenly barreling right towards them...

...it was Mpeko.
The pengi-marked female was frantic, looking about., She'd had a nastyu sort of dream about thewater going out entirely and she was rushing to see it was all a dream, making the sort of pitiful noises one made to seek comfort from her parents. However she didn't get that, or see others, finally tripping and landing facefirst into a mound of sand, burbling incoherantly and unhappily, as she rolled onto her back. Sand was icky. After getting her face clear the female tracker blinked, looking at the others as she tried to get her bearings back and bowed immediately.
"I'm sorry! I'm, sorry! I didn't mean to barge in on-- ....What ARE you guys doing?"
