 Nanu left the temple and greeted the sun with a warm smile before stretching her body with the new-found grace that she had grown into. She was a happy girl, full of life and expectations. Soon, she would take a task for herself just like her parents and start being useful to the pride but for now… well, for now Nanu was content with finding someone to talk to, something interesting to do or simply finding a place where she could play “pretty statue” on a sandy dune. So after one long chat with her mother and a few of her many siblings, Nanu made her way to the outside and climbed to a large pale rock where she sat still, soaking in the warmth of the sun.
She took one deep breath, releasing the air as one long satisfied sigh. Life was good.

 Obi, to his friends, let out a loud laugh and a shouted goodbye as he dashed away from the younger children he had been watching. Sometimes the little tyke's where too much though and he had to get away while he could. He missed hanging around his silbings, hadn't seen much of them around the temple... which was weird considering it wasn't that big of a place and they weren't allowed to leave the grounds until they were older.
The sun was in full force today and Obi purred out a sound of contentment. He contemplated on what he should do for the day. He knew the time would come where he had to choose what he wanted to help the pride but he didn't really focus on that as he was "in the now" instead of worrying of what was to be. He continued to walk on the semi-hot sand humming a random tune and debated to lay about in the water or go hang out with friends.

Nanu smiled as yellow lion approached her location. For the lioness enjoying the beautiful day, the stranger was an interesting sight: a little sun moving in the sand just like the bright ball of light from above travelled through the sky beyond her reach.
She shouldn’t even call him a stranger. After all, he was about her age and she’d seen him before (and his siblings) on several occasions. She’d just never spoken to him for one reason or another.
“Beautiful day huh?” she said from her little perch as he moved closer. Her bright smile quickly disappeared and a curious expression took over. “Wow, your eyes are so dark.”

Obi had been lost in thought when a feminine voice broke through. " Oh hello there," Obi felt a slow smile spread across his face and he took in the lovely sight before him. "All thanks to my mother and genetics." The female before him had interesting fur patterns and lovely pale eyes. She looked familiar but he wasn't too sure if he had seen her before. He wandered closer but not too close not wanting to overcrowd... as he sometimes did without meaning too. Boy did he learn his lesson that day. " Cool fur you have there. I'm Zuberi'Obi, my friends call me Obi so either's good. Yeah it's a pretty awesome day~"
He tilted his head, and debated on whether to ask or not. After a few silent moments he decided to just go for it. " You wanna hang out? Or go swimming?"

“Really? I look nothing like my parents.” It was a bit of an exaggeration, of course and hardly something that worried the young lioness. There was such a great variety regarding looks amongst all of her many siblings that such matters carried little importance to Nanu. She swished her tail playfully when the yellow lion mentioned her coat and introduced himself.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Nanu!” she said with a wide grin, clearly growing more excited by the invite. “Oh, swimming sounds like a good idea!” a little too excited, maybe, because as soon as she tried to jump down from her rocky perch the young lioness slipped and, with a tiny surprised whelp, the patched girl started falling towards her new acquaintance.

Obi eyed the female and thought what she had told him wasn't possible. I mean you'd have to look like your parents somehow but shrugged it off as no big deal. Her greeting back was cute in his mind and he found himself chuckling at her enthusiasm. "Yeah it does doesn't it. It is nice to meet you Nan-" His eyes widen as he found the female fast falling towards him. Thinking fast he stood on two legs to catch her or balance, but apparently he wasn't thinking about his balance. "Oh cra-oof!" He found himself flat on his back, breath nearly gone from his lungs, and a wiggling female ontop of him. "You okay?" He managed to wheeze out and laughed. It was kinda funny to have met like this, it certainly was the first time it had ever happened to him.
" Boy if you are this excited about swimming, I wonder what else does?" His mane spread out on the ground and his dark eyes gleaming with humor as well as mischief.

“Mmmm.” The patched lioness made an amused sound as she lingered in that awkward position, eyeing the lion below with an equal amount of mischief in her bright eyes. “You make for a very nice pillow, Zuberi’Obi. Has anyone ever told you that?” His name came out as a purr and she grinned, finally dislodging herself from the yellow lion.
“I’m okay, thanks to you. I didn’t hurt you did I?” she released the sand and dust with one quick shake of her body and threw her tuft back so she could see him properly. He didn’t look injured and, again, his dark eyes got most of her attention. “I’m not a very good swimmer but I really want to go now!”
Taking a few steps backwards with her tail dancing playfully behind her, Nanu winked at Obi. “Are you any good? Maybe you can give me some tips?”

He laughed loudly at her flirtiness, this one was really charming. "No I don't think any one has ever said that to me before and thank you Nanu." He watched as she got up and then he followed suit with a soft chuckle. He waved off the concern and smiled. " Oh I'm fine, I barely felt you on me." He sneezed as some stray dust floated near him. "Don't worry I make up for it so if you need help let me know and I will help you stay afloat. " He winked and stretched his body before gesturing with a paw. " Ladies first." He waited for her to start walking before he followed.
" Yeah, I know some tricks but my favourite thing to do is floating. You just feel so weightless... its nice." His dark eyes scanned the area before looking back at Nanu. " And then there's the laying in the sun part. That's nice too and here we are." He looked around at the almost empty area. " Shall we test the water or just jump right in?" He raised an eyebrow letting her decide.

She followed after the yellow lion without a hint of hesitation – in retrospect Nanu realized it would’ve been nice to tell someone where she was going even if she wasn’t a little cub anymore.
She stood at the water’s edge, just tiny bit anxious at the idea of jumping in. She quite liked the feel of the cool water on her sun-warmed coat but there was always fear hiding in the back of her mind. She might hit her head, she might drown, she might get caught by a crocodile… such things weighed heavily on the young lioness’ mind even if she wouldn’t openly admit it. But her new friend’s words forced a swarm of naughty ideas into her mind and she could hardly wait to test some of them out.
“You jump first…” she said with a little playful smile. Any of her siblings could tell you she was up to something. “Tell me if it’s good. And show me that floating thing you do.”

He raised his eyebrow but nodded playfully as he turned to enjoy what was infront of him. He loved the water, it was like a source of comfort for him to be around. "Alright! Here gooooes-" He wiggled his butt in start and then ran full tilt to the waters edge. At the last minute he sprung upward all his muscles bunching as he pushed and then he landed with a huge splash. Obi surfaced with a huge gulp of air and breathless laughter as he turned his soggy self towards Nanu.
"Come on, come join me," He treaded in spot his mane everywhere including covering his eyes. With a quick whip of his head he managed to clear his view making the front hairs stick up for a few minutes before flopping down. "The water isn't too bad thanks to the warmth of the sun shinning down on the area."

Nanu’s playful grin that bordered on coy should’ve been warning enough. At least it would’ve been to anyone who knew her well. She chuckled at the odd sight of the big wiggly butt in front of face before finally taking one step closer to the edge.
Let’s see how well you float then.
Nanu jumped. She had all the space she could possibly want but she still managed to jump to exact same spot Obi was occupying at that moment, laughing as she starting falling. Actually, she really was trying to sink that boastful boy under, completely forgetting any consequences – or repercussions – such an action might bring. Right now, she was just having too much fun.

Totally oblivious Obi didn't realize what was headed his way until the almost painful smack of a body hit his making him go under water before he could get a breath. White spots cluttered his vision at the lack of oxygen before he gave himself a shake and pushed to the surface. " Dang girl, you gotta warn a fella when you do something like that." He gasped out after a coughing fit and liked around dazed for a moment. "Phew you are one tough-gal." He moved his tail to splash her playfully.
Much of the day was spent like this a game of water tag or floating about lazily, followed by a rousing game of splash the crap outta eachother. Breathlessly the wandered out of the water around evening sun to go rest and dry off their fur on a dry sandless area. Obi had had a ball and it had been so long since he enjoyed another female company he found himself slowly enthralled.
