I'm just curious as to why the 3DS doesn't already have "Pictochat 3D" or something. It seems like a chat app would really work, seeing as how you have a friends list. It seems pretty pointless to have a friends list if you can't communicate with more than 21 characters... And if they had a video chat function, that might bring sales up a bit. It just doesn't make sense to me...

It just doesn't make sense to me... I agree. They should do that, and/or put messages on the home screen if there is a game request. Like when it say the battery is low; take that space.

I think Nintendo was planning on releasing an instant messaging system sometime.
Dunno when though, and why it's taking so long O___o

Yeah, what happened to PictoChat? Now I can't even chat with older systems using it! That was such great fun when sitting around artist alley at conventions! Maybe they decided people were drawing too many penises.

And it would be even better if they would add WiFi capabilities, and possible voice. Kitsune_rei Maybe they decided people were drawing too many penises. I'm not even gonna touch that one.

I never took mine to a convention but I imagined that would be fun =w=

They are going to add on a "updated" version of Pictochat but it hasn't been said when. I think it might come with the big update in Novemeber. Also, it's supposed to be wifi enhanced so you can talk with people on your friend's list.
